Orban Wins

George Soros hardest hit.

Viktor Orbán has won a fourth successive term as Hungary’s prime minister, capping a campaign dominated by his controversial stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with a speech that appeared to mock Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the Ukrainian leader.

Ecstatic chants of “Viktor, Viktor” greeted Orbán as he addressed supporters of his Fidesz party outside its election headquarters on the banks of the Danube in Budapest as results made the scale of his victory apparent.

With nearly 86% of the vote counted on Sunday night, Fidesz was on course to increase its parliamentary majority by winning 135 seats in the 199-member parliament, crushing a six-party opposition bloc that united to form a common front aimed at unseating Orbán.

Instead, the ruling party has retained its two-thirds super majority, which has enabled it to reshape Hungarian politics and social policy during its 12 years in power.

The popular vote margin was 53.7% for Fidesz to 34.4% for the United for Hungary opposition grouping, fronted by Péter Márki-Zay, who conceded defeat on Sunday night.

No, the worst investment of George Soros was in paying for young Victor’s education.

    1. Good. Let your beloved EU join the Soviets, the Third Reich and the Holy Roman Empire on the ash heap of history.

  2. His victory is a good outcome despite his support for Pootin, which is shameful.

      1. That was a reasonably balanced take. I don’t agree with it but it’s nonsense to call it hypocritical. There are reasons to like Orbon and dislike Putin

        1. Grey
Once people like you and the COLON grow up, and realize what this war is all about. You’ll also figure out what reasonable take on it is. This was set up by O’Butthole and the Jewish cabal, to draw Putin into it to see if they could remove him from office, like they did the Egyptian president, the Lybian president, and then the Syrian president. And, no, I am not a poohteen fan.

          1. Plenty of reasons not to like Zelensky. I offered a few of them myself, but the thought of allying with Put-put makes me feel most uncomfortable.

I’ll give Put-put some credit though. He’s really making the West’s leadership look pathetic. It seems that the latest move to buy gold appears to make him look like he’s playing 4D chess, while Biden… well… Biden… I was going to say Biden is playing checkers, but in retrospect, it looks like he can’t figure out that game either.

          2. So many geopolitical pikers commenting about their uninformed deep thoughts without membership in the deep club.
I hate all this shit, too, but quit thinking that you know what’s going on, other than in the general sense of history repeating itself with different players on the stage, full of sound and fury, but signifying nothing.
            See? Shakespeare was da bomb.

          3. So everyone who doesn’t share you’re niche view doesn’t have a grown up take huh?
Frankly I’ve thought better of Putin than most western leaders since Solzynytzyn said he was doing good years ago. I don’t think Solz could easily be bribed or tricked.

Even so I do understand there are issues with him and there are reasons some dislike him.

That said if you didn’t realize Jewish cabals are on both sides of the Ukrainian conflict you’re not up to date on what said canals are up to. The western liberal cabal is worse though, the Bush/Clinton Trudeau whoever else has a foundation for siphoning off the wealth of Canada and the US is a more present problem.

          4. Wow. That’s interesting. I didn’t post the above message. Looks like the doppletrolls are out stirring up trouble.

      2. Ha paid down debt. He converted euro and dollar debt to forint. He bought back utilities. He built highways bridges and infrastructure. He modernized the military. Gdp grew 7 percent last year. In nominal terms wage growth is well over 10 percent year after year. He kept muslims and negros out of the country. He helped 550k Ukrainian refugees Crime at all time low. He invested in education culture sport recreation. He kept homos out of schools. He built an astonishing gold reserve. Lowered income rax to 15 percent. No tax for poeple under 25 or those with three children. Home ownership at 96 percent. Largest investors are now all far east South Korea. Hungary now builds mire cars than Canada. No masks no mandates no lockdowns. Free merit based higher education. Free lunch and books in schools. New metro line and bridges in Budapest. Real environmental protection with drastic quality improvement inwater and air. 30 million visitors every year in a country of 10 million

        1. Exactly so. Orban got re-elected because he deserved it based on the items you identified. What is interesting here is the Guardian dredging up every piece of slime or outright lie they can to justify their opposition to Orban. This was despite the fact that Hungary had tried the other parties in the years after the collapse of the Warsaw Pact, and without exception they had all been disasters.

It should be noted that he is taking strides to improve Hungary’s energy self-sufficiency. He’s adding more nuclear generating capacity at Paks. But because the European Union and the Guardian are antinuclear, they don’t much like this.

On top of your good list it should also be noted that Hungary is a border state for the European Union. It’s had to absorb a disproportionate amount of illegal immigration over the past decade and with no assistance whatsoever from the EU.

          1. Hungary is not a war with Russia, so there is no reason to stop dealing with Russia to get the needed energy to look after Hungary’s own people … That is how all leaders should be dealing.

Just because some countries are mad at Putin, doesn’t mean all countries need to mad at Putin. Ukraine is not exactly a place for unicorns and pot heads, it’s cesspool of corruption, money laundering and who knows what else.

Wars contrived by the elites who feed the military industry, who buy politicians and judges need to be gotten rid of … them go fight their own wars. Just don’t show up to die for these clowns. Don’t vote for leftists they will betray you at every turn.

  3. Good news for nationalists everywhere. The globalists pedohomos can suck it.

  4. My wife is Hungarian so I consider myself privy to more of an inside scoop to Central and Eastern Europe than the average “stand with Ukraine” useful idiot. She is also not a Fidesz supporter. The majority of Hungarians see what is happening in Ukraine is not Russia against Ukrainians, but Russia against Globohomo control of Ukrainians.

It also explains why Russia did not come in with an Iron Fist, the American preferred strategy of shock and awe; they want to continue to live with Ukrainians as neighbors. The stories of Russian soldiers killing civilians is pure propaganda. Most Hungarians know this.

It’s all false flags by the Ukrainians [Azov is MORE than willing to murder—don’t deny it, Colonialidiot. Just look at the language YOU USE] unwilling to sacrifice their grip on the billions of dollars of aid from the West and their “10%” Ukrainian Mafia = American Deep State.

    1. I have seen photos of bodies in streets. Are they dead? If dead, how did they die? Are they Ukrainian or Russian (note, many Ukrainians are Russian, they have a lot in common). Were they shot, or otherwise killed, where they lay or positioned there?

Too many years of Pallywood have made me skeptical of all unverified claims.

      1. Robert
There was s hot of covered bodies in the Ukraine, problem is one of the bodies was moving, like an arm coming out from the cover to pull cover back over them. Lots of Bullshit coming out of the Ukraine. You’d think the COLON was over there reporting!

          1. Now first up on politifact:
Video shows Ukrainian crisis actors come to life after pretending to be dead.
            Verdict: FALSE

    2. Doug… You and I may not see eye-to-eye on some issues, but I have to admit… when I saw that “war-crime” story on this evening’s news, the first thing that popped into my head was “false flag.”

So excuse me, libs, if I don’t get so flippin’ outraged at this news. The cynic in me sees a “red alert” beacon here, by the simple fact that the legacy media is really pounding the crap out of this story trying to make it stick.

      1. Fox News …and All of their programming … even Stuart Varney … have become unwatchable because of their Ukraine-good propaganda. Pathetically one sided – FAKE.

      2. There were no puddles of blood. No blood anywhere. Put a bullet in someones head and there is alot of blood. But not here.

        1. For one thing it’s freezing cold. For another, you can’t be so inobservant.
I saw one, hands bound behind back, a pool of blood emanating from his head.
I’m sure there were many others which you missed. Claims of hoax require evidence, too. So we shall see.
Given the reputation of the Russian military, the raping and pillaging creeps they be, the stretched credulity lies with false flags.

    3. “Azov is MORE than willing to murder—don’t deny it,”

Hanging fifth column traitors and collaborators is a time honored tradition. Making russians good is a service to hummanity. Godspeed Azov!

    4. i am supporting pastors bringing food into Ukraine and yes there are real bodies in the street, shot by the Russians.

Civilian cars shot up, by Russians, video’s by drones show this.

So yes, there are dead bodies in the streets. I don’t know why people are for Russia in here.

Look at the obvious, Russia invaded a country, blew up buildings and hospitals (typical Russian maneuver to get people to leave).

So maybe Ukraine government was corrupt, but a lot of the people were not. Sorta like Canada.

My Mom is Hungarian and she hasn’t forgiven them for 1956.

    1. Trust the Guardian!

(also the Guardian exists on the donations of others, so can we please have some donations cause our business model is utter shite and we can’t pay our bills otherwise)

Guardian as a ‘news source’ bemuses me greatly. By their own admission they aren’t rolling in cash. I feel they caught between reality and the hard truth. If they go paywall no one will read their articles. If they don’t go paywall no one will pay them.

To me they seem to exist as a user friendly source of ‘cut/paste’ for when nu media types want a discussion topic.

  5. Jim Acosta and guest on CNN, of course were discussing today how the election was stolen.

  6. Sorass would be choking right now if he wasn’t so drunk with glee after setting up Ukraine to be a proxy for the USA vs Russia. Good work Hungry. You chose well.

    1. You misspelled “Soros…” Oh, wait… I see what you did there! Can I borrow that?

  7. Soros is a mutt. Globalist, and a free enterprise, capitalist enemy. Nuff said. Can only hope the rout continues.

  8. European Union hardest hit.

    Muslim brotherhood also hit hard.

    Well done Viktor.

  9. Dont know how Hungarian parliament works, but 135 out of 199 is 67.8% of the seats, or a 2/3 majority.

  10. Fantastic news! Tucker said tonight we’re witnessing the death rattle of the American left, in short, right thinking people are sick of their B.S.
Hope he’s right and I hope it’ll carry over here.

  11. Some background from a commenter at Insty’s, tanarur…
As a fellow spouse of a Hungarian lady, and as someone who has been living in Hungary for 20 years, I can confirm your diagnosis in general terms at least. My wife is also not a big fan of FIDESZ or Orban, but she voted for them today because of the utter recklessness of the left. Another thing that you failed to mention is the Ukrainian governments persecution of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia.

The Powerline article is not correct. The coalition that opposed Orban was a coalition of left-wing parties, not a conservative coalition. They did choose an independent politician who was the mayor of a small city to be their PM designate, and he called himself “conservative”. But apparently no one was fooled by this charade, as he has actually lost his election to parliament as well. There was also a referendum on the teaching of LGBT ideology in schools, which FIDESZ opposes, and the left didn’t even want to support. They urged their voters to spoil their ballots in an attempt to invalidate the result.

They aren’t supporting Russia. If there is one thing I can stress to all if you, it is that there is only one journalist who writes in the English language that knows anything about Hungary, and that is John O’Sullivan. Everything else you read, and I mean everything, is absolute crap. There is strong support for Orban’s stance on the war, which is that it has nothing to do with us. He does not support Putin in the invasion, and he has not used his veto to oppose EU sanctions, but he is dead set against getting Hungary involved militarily at any level. The opposition made a big point about saying they would send weapons and even soldiers to Ukraine if NATO requested it. So, I think Orban was going to win anyway, but the war gave him a massive win instead of a slim victory.

They [Hungarians] have sent humanitarian aid and have taken in refugees. Orban is a very strict reader of contracts. Back in the migrant crisis in 2015, he was basically one of the few European leaders to follow the actual EU laws on migration. Which state people seeking asylum have to stop and register in the first safe country they come to. The Germans and the French and most other Western European countries decided their moral principles were more important than actual EU law, so they made Orban the bad guy for following the rules. In the current situation, Orban has read the contract, and it says that Hungary is obliged to support NATO members if they are attacked. Ukraine is not a NATO member, and there are no bi-lateral agreements between Hungary and Ukraine, so therefore not our business. Simple as. I suppose he is counting on the other NATO countries to honor their commitment to the letter of the treaty as well if Hungary was ever threatened. Which may not be wise, since many of them have shown in the past they don’t always honor the letter if the law. But no one here thinks Putin has any intentions of trying to take Hungary. Not even the left tried to make that argument, and they made just about every other lunatic and libelous arguments in the election campaign.

    1. Thanks. I knew something was up when the Goebbels News anchor announced that Orban was “pro-Putin.” Thank God for SDA. I can’t trust the legacy media with any reporting that they do.

    2. Andy, thanks a lot for the insight. This is valuable.

“Another thing that you failed to mention is the Ukrainian governments persecution of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia.”

Yeah, one of the stupidest things Ukrainians have done. They have also acted in similar manner to Polish minority. And regarding history of persecution of Poles (Volhynia massacres) Poland decided (wisely IMHO) that russia is an evil greater by an order of magnitude. Hungarians seem be much less forgiving, Can’t say I blame them, but I am not sure how wise that position is. anyway I don’t think Orban is all that great, but he definitely is much better than the alternative (Poland is in many respects in a similar position).

  12. The Hungarians have made their wishes known on the Ukraine question. They, wisely, want no part of the Esperantists’ war with Russia.

If the Esperantists really want to get themselves killed in Ukraine, they are free to go on their own. Few Hungarians will miss them.

Either way, they’re not yielding back any of their sovereignty to the Esperantists if they have any say about it.

So what will happen now in Hungary?

Probably something much like is now happening in Russia. Despairing of ever regaining any of their power over other human beings, most of the last of the Bolsheviks, Esperantists and world citizens will pack their bags and leave. Patriots will remain, united behind a leader who actually takes the side of his people.

  13. Pictures of dead bodies? In a war in which Zelensky has made every civilian a legitimate enemy target? Spare me. Puhleeze.

And so what? Fox News told me all last week that Russia is losing. So these are the images of WINNING!! Right?

    1. Classic Paliwood. And classic projection.

This is what the Ukes would do to the “Moskals” given half a chance, and what the Palis would do to the “Zionists.”

    2. “Zelensky has made every civilian a legitimate enemy target? ”

      Nonsense. Absurd utter nonsense.

“Fox News told me all last week that Russia is losing. ”

And? That is an excuse for Siberian Horde to rape, murder and pillage? Do you even listen to yourself? This war turned you nuts. Ask millions of Ukrainians who fled the country why have they done so.

      1. Correction: every male between the age of 18 & 60 a legitimate military target. Is that better? Because that’s THE TRUTH.

        1. That is much better, still not true, but closer and less hysterical.
Anyone not in service is not a legitimate target. Just because there is mobilization, it does not mean they are all serving. Just because they can be called into service, (which is not controversial given the circumstances btw) it does not mean they actively serve. And unless they are in active service, they remain noncombatants and hence not legitimate targets.

The same rules applies to unarmed soldiers, on leave, not in uniform. It does not matter if their fulltime occupation is soldier. For as long as they are on leave, they are not legitimate targets.

  14. Orban stands for everything the legacy media hates. Which means I like him.
Traditional family values. Against open borders especially Muslim Africa and Middle East.
No promotion of gender ideology. All good and Hungarian women are hot.
Now let’s see if Le Pen can do France and whoever is not in power in Australia and New Zealand. We’ll have to wait a while. The House will flip in the US and GOP will get a majority in the Senate which will limit any more damage Joe can do. And he’ll be stepping on the gas once the November results come in.
