    1. It’s not gone yet for me, especially here in Ontario: Until the mask is completely 100% gone with no messages of « we will bring them back if need be » I will not lower my guard. The masks we have been using are useless and do not whatsoever stop the spread, the most massive trial we have just conducted for 2 years on an almost planetary scale proved it, even N95 grade are about 35% and not effective if not well positioned, touched, moved and not replaced every few hours.
      Masks were a psychological tool to maintain a fake pandemic and they must not come back unless a dust storm occurs or something.

    1. Russia will withstand the sanctions – low debt, lots of gold reserves. It will get uncomfortable though.
      Bigger picture in my mind is that this will push not only Russia off Swift but others countries will follow. China has their alternate swift system.

      So if the USD /Swift hegemony is broken, the USD loses world reserve currency status. Maybe slowly maybe quickly.
      Without reserve status, USA becomes Greece (with nukes) pretty quickly, and USD becomes third world paper, and US sees its power diminished.

      Remarkably Powell publicly said there is room for more than 1 reserve currency. Perhaps – but if there is it is at a cost to the USD.
      The USA should have been pushing for a resolution – with Ukraine remaining an independent non NATO neutral country – and guarantees Putin pulls in his horns – rather than blanket seizing of assets. (but not oil/gas money – on which Putin is making bank – shell is buying)

      So aside from the geopolitics of it – in terms of financial damage – the West has far more to lose than Putin. Perhaps that was the point all along. Then we can Build Back Better.
