I live in downtown Ottawa, right in the middle of the trucker convoy protest.
They are literally camped out below my bedroom window. My new neighbours moved in on Friday and they seem determined to stay. I have read a lot about what my new neighbours are supposedly like, mostly from reporters and columnists who write from distant vantage points somewhere in the media heartland of Canada. Apparently the people who inhabit the patch of asphalt next to my bedroom are white supremacists, racists, hatemongers, pseudo-Trumpian grifters, and even QAnon-style nutters. I have a perfect view down Kent Street – the absolute ground zero of the convoy. In the morning, I see some protesters emerge from their trucks to stretch their legs, but mostly throughout the day they remain in their cabs honking their horns. At night I see small groups huddled in quiet conversations in their new found companionship. There is no honking at night. What I haven’t noticed, not even once, are reporters from any of Canada’s news agencies walking among the trucks to find out who these people are. So last night, I decided to do just that – I introduced myself to my new neighbours.

Compare and contrast the content of this post with the irresponsible grab bag of “-ism’s” thrown out by Boy Trudeau to slander and otherize the rallyers.
I find this to be a “great piece” only in the sense that it validates how extremely effective MSM and siloed politico’s have been in peddling and indoctrinating the supposedly educated (and extremely sheltered) class using specious generalizations about the uniformity and depravity of The Deplorables. This “scientist” had apparently never previously spent any time in the company of other human beings. Seriously? He’s a mathematician and bought into the statistical impossibility of the sameness the oppressors claim typifies the unwashed masses. Visit three truck stops and call me in the morning.
You can spot someone who gets his information solely from the MSM. He repeats all the talking points.
This person had the wherewithal to get out and find out what was going on. A good number will likely argue with him because “they said on TV…”
And this is why PM Trudeau needs to drop his blinders and talk to his constituents. These people are the voice of the silent majority who want to live in peace, without government intervention and interference – the heart and soul of Canada. And every day that he lambasts them from the front door of his cottage, he and his party lose credibility and expose themselves for the tyrants that they are (yes, rant is part of tyrant). The writer of the article is now a convert and Justin lost another vote.
The proverbial ‘penny’ has not yet dropped? As with every other pseudo-leftist, Trudeau has zero interest in ‘the masses’, they are simply there to be exploited, and should not be in the way as he is chauffeured along an empty highway to his dacha.
He represents his clique, period. All others are only there to applaud his speeches.
I agree. There is not a single shred of evidence that The Turd King has any interest in the well-being of the average Canadian. In fact, his actions consistently prove the exact opposite.

I am pretty sure Trudeau, Freeland etc. know perfectly well who the protesters are and what they stand for. That these are ordinary Canadians fighting for their country, however, does not fit the agenda . . . So they must demonize them as Nazi’s etc. Sadly, too many people believe them and the lying media.
Exactly LindaL, the Turd et al know the truckers and those protesting with them are good honest hard working Canadians, but in order to keep “his” control and to continue to push “the agenda” forward,,, these people NEED to be destroyed, the Media NEEDS to slag them, denigrate them and generate Hate against them.
The deplorable are the disposable.

I have lived in both worlds – university and 20 years working in big tech – but I grew up in outport NL and I know that rough exteriors do not indicate the heart and intelligence that lie below the surface. My hair and beard are a match to yours but I wear a work shirt now and have returned to the sea. I think the wisdom you would find among the crew of the average fishing vessel would be just as surprising to most people. We are all Canadians and it’s time our government saw that again

Amazing post. Slime stream media think they are part of the governing elite-they aren’t they are just bag boys for the corrupt liberals. The lying media set a negative narrative then the rest parrot their drivel and smears, they only need one person to invent something for it to become news for weeks.
For a moment there, I thought you were talking about Hillary. The Trump – Russia collusion falsehood that she pro-actively planted has now survived for 6 years, principally because of media hysteria.
As I’m walking around the block before bucking down to work, it occurred to me that the title of that article hints at a good choice of words when talking to people about, specifically mandates and passports.
We should start talking about Canada’s caste system. As you walking by your local chain restaurant (mom and pops get a pass from me since they’re often marginal at the best of times) and loudly ask if this is a high caste only establishment. It if you don’t mind people thinking you’re an a$$ (like you’re in a city you rarely go to) and you happen to be jabbed, walk into a restaurant and loudly announce that you’re part of the high caste and demand to see the vaccination status of the staff because you don’t want any low caste viruses interesting with your meal.
It’s appalling, but how else to make it obvious how appalling these restrictions are?
