“I came here to speak the truth.”

Well, here’s what’s happening now — right now, today. Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon now presides over the U.N. Security Council. This means, in effect, that a terror organization presides over the body entrusted with guaranteeing the world’s security.
You couldn’t make this thing up.

Netanyahu’s U.N. Address. Watch the whole thing. (Transcript here.) h/t EBD

  1. it has for some time..that’s why there’s no ‘caliphate’…all those tiny little islamic countries add up to more votes…especially with all the anti-civilization ‘countries’ thrown in…any body that gives iran or libya or north korea or any other similar country the chairmanship of a commitee for human rights or arms control ot anything else for that matter has become irrelevant and it’s purpose has been perverted completely…time for civilized countries to wash their hands of the lunacy the UN has become and let someone else pay for the corruption and graft.

  2. Awesome speech by a very intelligent and courageous man…Reaching out and putting the ball in the Palestinian court…Of course we all know the Pallies won’t accept because they really don’t want peace…Israel needs to continue to defend itself its borders and to do what they need to to protect itself from Iran.

  3. Netanyahu could just as well have been addressing disinformation-spewing leftists – including certain CBC reporters – everywhere with this passage:
“President Abbas just stood here, and he said that the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the settlements. Well, that’s odd. Our conflict has been raging for — was raging for nearly half a century before there was a single Israeli settlement in the West Bank. So if what President Abbas is saying was true, then the — I guess that the settlements he’s talking about are Tel Aviv, Haifa, Jaffa, Be’er Sheva. Maybe that’s what he meant the other day when he said that Israel has been occupying Palestinian land for 63 years. He didn’t say from 1967; he said from 1948. I hope somebody will bother to ask him this question because it illustrates a simple truth: The core of the conflict is not the settlements. The settlements are a result of the conflict.”

  4. How well spoken, without a teleprompter AND not in his mother tongue! Why? He knows of what he speaks.

  5. The UNO HQ being in New York has certain advantages for
western democracies from an intelligence gathering point of view.
On the other hand, the UNO would be more efficient and less
troublesome if it rotated through three third world shitholes and
New York on a twenty year cycle.

  6. A speech for the ages; this magnificent man is a soldier for God. I pray for Mr. Netanyahu and all of the Jews in Isreal. Such courage and grace move my heart and my head to his side.

  7. I have often related, to those who believe that the ‘1967 borders’ constitute some kind of solution, my personal experiences hitch-hiking through Syria, (and afterwards Iraq/Iran), in 1963; we encountered very few non-Arabs and were therefore something of a novelty, and people, especially in Syria, would tell us how their armies were going to “Kill the Jews”.
If the 1967 borders were meaningless to the Arabs 3 years BEFORE they existed, why would anyone believe they’d be relevant afterwards?

  8. It appears time for Canada to take the next step of opposition to the hypocrisy of the U.N., which is to withhold payments until the Palestinians accept Israel.
The only way to infuence the Islamic voting Bloc is fear. The support of individuals who actually live off the largesse of the United Nations need to recognize there could and will be an end to their life style if the Israel hypocricy continues.
I recognize they are simply stooges for their Regimes, but some push back from their level may influence the information flow.
The ultimate threat will be discontinuation of all “Western” nations in supplying funds for continuation of this misdirection of Arab street anger.
    The training of resistance fighters initiated by the 43rd President of the U.S.A. has helped to set up the “Arab Spring” IMO. Increasing pressure to change could assist in realization of a changing situation. Cheers;

  9. Magnificent speech, everything a speech should be, clear and factual, no convoluted rhetoric and BS thrown in. So glad Prime Minister Harper is not afraid to openly support the State of Israel.
Some walked out on the rant given by Iran’s mad front man for that theocracy, as Netanyahu said, all should have walked out.

  10. Magnificent speech. Now, is the world listening?
There was one lone man sitting in the Palestine section taking notes. I’d love to see what he actually wrote. I don’t imagine it will in any way resemble what Netanyahu actually said.
Having a terror organization presiding over the UN Security Council, which is entrusted with guaranteeing the world’s security, makes a complete mockery of the word “security.”
How the Leftards can in any way endorse the UN at this point is Kafkaesque. Their brains are obviously fried and their moral compasses, way off kilter.

  11. an absolutely great speech. Every teacher should show this to their students to show the truth of the middle east. not their own anti-israel bias

  12. makes you wonder “why now ?” what sort of procedural sleight of hand does the Security Council chair have access to ?

  13. Denis miller @ 8:34 AM: “Every teacher should show this to their students to show the truth of the middle east”…good luck with that in the Leftist infestation in our education systems.

  14. libertrianstypeincaplock @2:38 – for that matter, why does Israel compete in the Eurovision Song Contest?
The left doesn’t respond to reason and logic. That’s not a cheap smear, it’s an observable fact. Nothing Bibi says will make any difference.

  15. In Israel everyone has the vote, minorities included. Arabs have a voice and a presence in the government.
In Israel women have equal rights with men.
in Israel Gay Pride is celebrated every year.
So with whom do our diversity-loving, feminist, gay-friendly liberals activists sympathize in the Mideast conflict? Why, the culturally supremacist, misogynist, homophobic Islamists, naturally!
No, I don’t get it either.

  16. When will people start to realize that the UN is purely elitist corruption at the highest order? Their goal is global public disarmament and universal totalitarian rule. Of course that sounds like conspiracy, yet the proof is in the track records. It’s not unusual for Elitists to want to dominate and rule, it’s been the way of the world since the beginning. They have no alliance to religion, country, or race. They have an alliance to an idea and unto themselves, nothing more.

  17. Nemo2
Oh yeah. I recall that time…the arabs spent months talking themselves into a corner….spinning up their courage…with the able assistance of the Soviets and the pinko media.
They made no secret of their objective…total destruction of Isreal and another holocaust.
It was the Franko-Prussian War redux…when all the “experts” predicted the crack French Army would absolutely destroy the recently unified German Empire…
The Arab mentality hasn’t changed much except their standing armies are much, much more aware of the hazards of open warfare with the IDF.
The armies of Syria, Eygpt et al, a painfully aware of the result of the October War…when they had avoided the obvious blunder of (the ’67 war)of alerting the IDF of their intent…..with a surprise attack and cutting edge Soviet anti-tank and anti-air technology….and still lost.
Arab armies are painfully aware of the Hezb’allah failure to stop the IDF, despite new effective weaponry and concealed concrete defences in depth. The IDF despite this achieved their objective…the Litani River.
Nasrallah (leader of Hez’b’allah) has confessed that the kidnapping of the IDF soldiers was a strategic blunder. IOW if they had to do it again…they wouldn’t.
Hez’b’allah has repaired and strengthened their fortifications and restored their rocket arsenal, but their current posture is defensive rather than offensive.
They are also aware the IDF constantly modifies their equipment and doctrine to charging threats.
Then there is the “Sampson Option”…..The IDF does not have the Cold War restraints of MAD….no doctrine/need to avoid first use….the consequence of a genocidal Arab invasion is equal to sustaining a nuclear first strike.
IOW the Arab’s greatest danger is not losing a war with Isreal, but rather winning a war with Isreal.
Cast Lead (IDF retaliation for Gaza rocket fire) has taught Hamas the concequences of crossing the vague line.
The hostile Arab nations, as well as Hamas and Hezbollah have learned the hard reality, to limit their overt aggression…..
Hez’b’allah, despite it’s estimated 10,000 rocket arsenal, is loath to start any thing….a truly massive rocket barrage by them into Isreal could trigger, at the very least, a limited IDF nuclear response.
The result is the Arabs are limited to lawfare, propaganda, appeals to the UN, the leftists and leftist media and small terrorist attacks designed to avoid a signifigant IDF retaliation (conventional or nuclear).
Probably the Arabs are simply unable to prevent these small suicidal attacks…the result of their own propaganda.
Much like Abbas, is in reality, powerless to negotiate Peace with Isreal….they have indoctrinated the “arab street” to implacably reject that. To make Peace with Isreal, a practical, unavoidable precondition is for the PA to convince/educate their own people to want peace…
    and that ain’t happening…

  18. For those who are wondering why the leftists hate Israel and support Islam the answer is spiritual. The leftists and islamists are of the spirit of death while Jews and Christians are of the Spirit of Life. The death spirit lies cheats steals murders while the Life Spirit seeks to heal, nurture, encourage and protect. The death spirit is the ultimate ‘selfish’. The Life Spirit is the ultimate ‘Generous’.

  19. Netanyahu is one of the few statesmen left in the world,a man who’ll speak the truth plainly rather than use weasel words to appear “reasonable”.
I especially appreciated the comment about those “whose memory goes back farther than breakfast”.
I thought it was damned decent of him to NOT mention all the raging successes of the UN Police Forces the dreamers imagine would keep the peace in the ME if the Palestinians get their way.
Had I been his speech writer,I’d have made mention of Rwanda,as I have no doubt the Palestinian Authority would be very happy to emulate that UN triumph if given the chance.

  20. I watched this a day ago & was impressed.
Unfortunatly we are under the rule of madmen. Mostly to be found in the UN or green orginizations as the ban on inhailers shows.
As for Israel they are being set up for another arab Islamist war.
Well do most know it too. Even the left has shut up in the Jewsish homeland, Its near impossible to fool yourself when rockets are falling on you that peace is around the corner . When your foes say they will kill you all including childrem every day.
The World has become despicable , unable to have the moral courage or outrage of a cock roach.
We live in man made dire times folks.
This was the logical proggesion of the UN since the 50’s & its anti-Jewish homeland policies. Now the very monsters of a cult who would destroy us all is at the top of the pile of dung known as the UN. Their path made easy by ignorant politicians focused on old bigotries.
Every day we see this Cult of Islam kill & maim, yet its all hidden away except when they don’t want it to be.
I’m getting to be ashamed of being human.
This reeks of emotive stupidity not reason.

  21. The one thing I’ve been curious about through all of this: If “Palestine” becomes an official state, that means two terrorist organisations become state actors, do they not? As members of the UN, they become signatories to the Geneva Conventions by default, do they not?
How far to an official declaration of war is it after that, which would give Israel a bunch of legal cover that didn’t exist before, and which would let them take off the kid gloves? With a declaration of war, I’m pretty sure not one stone would be left standing atop another in those areas. If not war, then other options previously unavailable might now be.
I may be off-base, but I wonder these things.

  22. I shamelessly stole this line from a comment on the National Post:
” the bottom line is that if the Arabs put down their their weapons, it would be the end of the violence; if the Israelis put down their weapons, it would be the end of Israel.”

  23. An absolutely SPLENDED speech. S-h-i-v-e-r-s.
The KEY distinctions for me were:
    – The genocidal conflict pre-dated the “settlements” by decades.
    – Not just Judaea, but the Judean MOUNTAINS without which, as I explained to ET once, Israel is simply not defensible.
    – UN 242 “territories” not “THE terriroties.”.
    WIKIPEDIA: —————–
Supporters of the “Palestinian viewpoint” focus on the phrase in the resolution’s preamble emphasizing the “inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war”, and note that the French version called for withdrawal from “des territoires occupés” – “the territories occupied”. The French UN delegation insisted on this interpretation at the time, but both English and French are the Secretariat’s working languages.
    —————–
BTW, did you realize that in the new proposed Terror State, the refugees will still have refugee status needing UN/EU/US sucker aid!?
Is there more eloquent proof of Arab intentions here: demographic destruction of the world’s only Jewish state via the bogus “right of return” which “right” has operated nowhere or any time on the planet except for the “Palestinians”.
Excellent presentation of the geography problem Israel faces

  24. WHAT A SPEECH!
Netanyahu tells the truth, unvarnished and unapologetically. What an anomaly for a politician.
    G_d bless and keep Israel.
Again, here is the magnificent prayer for Israel, the anthem, “I Was Glad”, by Sir Hubert Parry:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YstlGy1Ld0
(This is at the Queen’s Jubilee, so from 2:56-4:21, there’s an insert of “Vivat Regina”.)
These are the words of Psalm 122. The bracketed words are not included in the anthem.
    Psalm 122: “Laetatus sum”
I was glad when they said unto me, We will go into the
house of the Lord. Our feet shall stand in thy gates, O Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is built as a city that is at unity in itself. [For
thither the tribes go up, even the tribes of the Lord, to testify
unto Israel, to give thanks unto the Name of the Lord. For
there is the seat of judgement, even the seat of the house of
    David.]
O pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that
love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and plenteousness
within thy palaces. [For my brethren and companions’ sakes,
I will wish thee prosperity. Yea, because of the house of the
Lord our God, I will seek to do thee good.]
    Amen and amen!

  25. Maybe I’m missing something but is there a reason why Israel doesn’t withdraw from the UN? It’s not like the UN is doing them any favours. For that matter, why are WE still members?

  26. oh
    you’re
    right!
    ===
    you are liar!
    Joe Wilson….!!
    ===============================
Both sides are big fat liars in UN.
    I can correct myself
racist liars who care about thie Hezab and party
    relgion of self
and they do not dam care about any other human right
as long we can call politician liar
we can not blame ordinary citizen crime in town
    so nothing we can do
    old fashion politic
    NOW:
truth is clear all criminal wars…
    now solution
just shut up and stop war among both and do peace
we heard this non sense alot over years
just sh;;;ot fooouk off and give their land back and stop killing each other
Arabs and Israeli are both stinks!!
both schzoerphernia suicidar who kill for lands
and target innocent for thier sickness of their heart
    just my message to both
    please shut up
and we do not want to hear any word and talk from both side
just stop fighing and killing each other
    act like
    civilized people!!!

  27. Osumashi @ 3:45 PM, Israel needs to stay in the UN to speak for themselves, get the truth out. If they had withdrawn we would never have heard that great speech.
If there is a mass withdrawal of democratic nations/states from the UN it might be helpful, IMO it should happen, the UN a sham, it’s very name is a sham.

  28. When are we going to realize that Muslims will never like Jews or Christians…heck man read their so called holy book. Read the book The Truth About Mohammed. Muslims want to kill and take booty….heck that was all Mohammed did was wage war and take slaves and booty. Did Jesus do that? I think not. If Mohammed needed an excuse for his actions he would say that the angel Gabriel told him it wss okay.

  29. Re: Norm at 3:01. Actually, English is his mother tongue. He grew up near Philadelphia and he was educated at MIT and Harvard.

  30. Liz J, I see what you mean. However, the UN has always battered Israel. I do wish there would be a mass withdrawal of key states from the UN. Show them what a sham it is!

  31. if Ozero realy wanted to leave a mark, all he would have to do is withdraw from the UN and boot it out of the USA, and that folks would be the end of the UN, and Isreals lot would change as the Islamist would either have to sh!t or git off the pot

  32. Joe wrote @ 12:12:
“For those who are wondering why the leftists hate Israel and support Islam the answer is spiritual. I say “Amen” to that.

  33. And when are we going to realize that 90% of the “Jews” in USA voted for the ZERO??? They are not Isreal jews. They use the name only to get money and lawsuits. If even one of them tried to immigrate back to Isreal, they would be denied. There are very few real Jews in NA.

  34. This 3 minute video pretty much a metaphor for the palestinian cultural sickness. A woman who only months previously was treated for severe burns in an Israeli hospital.
She then attempts to return to the same hospital as a ‘pregnant woman’ but is stopped at the border by suspicious (shame on them)IDF border soldiers and made to remove her clothing in a secure area. Lo and behold, she has 10kg of high explosives strapped to her waist.
Honourable people in need of a state, indeed.
