Best Canadian Blog

Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I am aware, as the web master says, that the ‘cartoons are a product of its time (sic)’. But certainly the demeaning stereotypes they contain are reflective of the racism that was more prevalent at that time (I know; I was there). And so the cartoons are obviously racist by the standards of today.
I presume the web master knows this since the cartoons are always preceded by “Frankly my dear…” (I don’t give a damn) which seems to frame the cartoons as provocations rather than just ‘interesting’ artifacts. It’s as though she’s daring someone to call them racist. And when they do, she bans them.
That the cartoons are racist seems also evident to many posters here, who have chimed in with race-themed remarks, as well as those like the poster “ET” who relates the cartoon to Obama. And of course, the only reason one would do such a thing is because Obama is black, like the caricatures in the cartoon. Racism.
If the poster was banned because of a ‘patern of abusive insults’, then what of the posters who regularly post such insults as “leftard”, etc.?
I say this because as a conservative it pains me to see other conservatives engage in childish name-calling. We don’t need to, since our ideas are so much better than the liberals. What has name-calling – or engaging in racism – got to do with lower taxes and small government? It seems to me that such patterns serve only to damage our cause.
“It seems to me that such patterns serve only to damage our cause.”
To who Mel, racist liberals?

Mel is starting to smell like “real” in yet another moonbat disguise.
Talk about the cat that you just can’t get rid of. I do seem to remember a cartoon many years ago about that, you know throw the cat out of the car and it would be on the doorstep when the character returned home (over and over). And yes I believe the cat was “black” and on reflection probably gay. So what of it “Mel”? I must be both a racist and homophobe for making that assessment, sitting in my own home in my own country, typing on a private open discussion blog based in a proclaimed freedom of speech culture.
No, you won’t shut anyone up, and I would say the reason the cartoon was posted on SDA in the first place was because “she could”! If you can’t understand that precious little fact, then you deserve what everyone else thinks for you.
Unfortunately, the post by “Knight 99” is leading me to conclude what I’ve been beginning to suspect, for such childish name-calling is really a disgrace to conservatism.
As a lifelong conservative, I must say I resent this, and have to conclude that in a real sense, the person expressing such nasty sentiments isn’t a conservative at all. Rather, as in the case of the web master Kate, conservatism is regrettably being used as a showcase for the poster’s racism, and mental and emotional illnesses.

I must admit Mel, you’re beginning to smell like a troll.
BTW, the name is Kate, or do you have a fetish with this web master BS?
