  1. “The second image was a picture of a rasher of bacon and a man in a turban alongside the caption “Fun facts about Bacon! People who eat bacon have a lower chance of marrying a 9-year-old!”

A judge decided this was “grossly offensive”. Grossly offensive to who? A muslim who would marry a 9 year old and wouldn’t eat bacon would not be offended by it. It would have been interesting to see how this was argued in court. The concept of “offensive jokes” being criminal is insane to start with, but then in your defence you would have to argue that the meme in question is factually true, and if you can go to jail for stating facts that someone out of ignorance and stupidity find offensive then we no longer live in a civilized society and its time to start killing people.

  2. “…the person who complained about it to police in the first place, was a non-Muslim neighbour of Gray’s…”

    Of course.

  3. To paraphrase a comment I saw not too long ago: “I like bikinis, bacon and beer, so Sharia law ain’t happening.”

  4. “A 31-year-old man from Dundurn, Saskatchewan…” Did I miss, anywhere in the article, the man’s name? It can’t have been that he might be underage, since he’s 31. Can it be that his name’s “ethnic”, permitting a reasonable guess as to his religion?

A brief scan of all other news articles (and there are several) on the incident, confirms that the suspect is “a man”. That’s it – nothing more. But a picture in the Star Phoenix ( https://thestarphoenix.com/news/crime-courts/dundurn-man-charged-in-egg-throwing-incident-at-saskatoon-synagogue/ ) hints strongly at eastern-Mediterranean/Middle East ethnicity.

And I for one, am so shocked (/sarc).

    1. I don’t like the way he is described as a Dundern, Saskatchewan, man. They do this identity-witholding in the UK as well, ostensibly to reduce the chance of racial friction. Two-tier reporting only makes it worse.

  5. California …

“… members of the school’s Social Justice Pathway program …”

IMHO … that’s FAR WORSE than wearing a hijab or getting a Gideon’s Qur’an at the local mosque. But let me suggest this is an AP class … that looks really, really, good on all your applications to EXTREME leftist colleges. And it’s in Palo Alto … where all the WHITE (and Asian) students live in the lap of luxury … the closest thing they know of “social justice” … is piercing all the ‘right’ body parts.

  6. My Sunday on Turtle Island was spent spinning some of my rare Japanese Red Vinyl 1986 remasters of selected Beatles albums … in mono

And I recalled when this album dropped in the late summer of 1966 … just before I started the 5th grade … in a class with more beautiful girls than any other classroom in my lifetime. Perfect timing for a boy … beginning manhood – no hormone blockers needed … or wanted. My best friend and next door neighbor Chris M, had a copy and we listened to it in his living room, playing along with tennis racket ‘guitars’. When this cut played …

I’d thought The Beatles had gone completely mental. They’d lost it. They’re FINISHED as a band. Funny how tide and time changes perspectives as I now consider this one of the absolute masterpieces of Beatles … experimental … not mental music.

I dedicate this to the … majority of Canadian truckers. I hope the Singh’s enjoy how we Westerners can take their instruments and frankly … awful music. And reinvent it as Western musical genius.
