Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

That’s a fact.. Seeing as Canada is 1/3rd welfare and 1/3rd government worker (same thing) and 1/3rd expected to pay for it all.. The PCs did rather well.. Who knows, maybe the liberals just need more rope?..
Mark Steyn’s remarks about Poilievre are dead on target.
In 327 years, Maxime Bernier is a shoe in.
He may be a good sole who is on his uppers and needs to heel, but he’s not a shoe-in. He’s a shoo-in, like a chicken outside a henhouse. Or a guest of Ed Sullivan.
I agree. He successfully destroyed Justin and failed to destroy Carney. WHY? There should have been absolutely abhorrent attack ads accusing that scumbag of eating children on every boomer’s television 24/7.
Pollievre never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Between that and shooting their own feet is a CPC hallmark.
Why can none of you face up to the fact Canada is a nation of infantilized coward sheep, who will trade any hope of comfort or success for the promise of mommy government holding your hand? Canada would rather be broke and ruled with an iron hand than have to make any grown up choices. When I think of Canada, all I want to do is puke.
Come now, you mean you’ve never been tempted to shit yourself?
But, but, but … “Pierre Pussievre” talks so purdy. Did you hear him put those CBC Reporters in their place!? Did you hear him put Donald Trump in his place … just like AOC has!?
What a voice for conservatism! Conservatives who actually LIKE illegal immigration and population replacement. He LIKES the poor, poor, “bullied” transgenders. He LOVES global warming taxes and fossil fuel punishment. And he LOVES communist China more than an America that demands FAIR trade and a return of manufacturing to America. Enjoy your Belt and Roads Canada!
Steyn is a tired has been with a chip on his shoulder.
Unfortunately for everything he talks about has an annoying habit of coming true.
I loved him back when he was Dubya’s attack dog. He completely lost relevance for me after Obama. He is a relict. Still have his America books on my shelf. But his criticism of Pierre just shows how detached he is. Read the linked above Dan Knight commentary for a thoughtful alternative.
100% on that, The One and Only C.
For the first time, I’m totally pi$$ed with smart a$$ Steyn who made a mess of his career because of his careless speech with 0 gain to show for it.
And YES the linked Dan Knight piece was indeed thoughtful and fair.
Too many purist ideologues here demonstrate utter ignorance of the challenges of electoral politics in Canuckistan. PP did a superb job and in time will prevail.
Which speech was that?
Speech? I was referring to the linked article.
Yes, Polievre did a superb job! Awesome campaign!
Flawless! Just like Kamala! Flawless!
Pussyevre. Indeed.
Oh Danny bitch, just like Freddie you’re always on the wrong side of civilization. Even UnMe scores higher.
I am curious about the speech that x Menticide references where Steyn apparently made a mess of his career.
He is talking about his legal trouble and defamation suit with Mann.
Colon, you’re still not LARPing in Ukraine. Are you scared of fighting a real fight?
Yes, Peter Polly failed. He’s first loser. He was too nice.
Grow up and accept reality. And hurry up and fly to Ukraine, you silly little coward
Whose seed tastes better Danny Bich, Pootin’s or Carnage’s?
Ding ding ding! His columns are all the same and bad. Such a hack. He can’t fathom that many people out there don’t think like him.
“don’t think like him.” No kidding. Most people don’t think anyhow, believe utterly transparent lies like “safe and effective.”
Got a mirror? Pot meet kettle.
You can’t just throw in irrelevant random insults and expect that they will make an impression.
All be it a bit brutal!
Yup. He nailed it. Pee-pee has the killer instincts of Bambi. He makes Joe Clark look like Rambo.
Jamie MacMaster:
Considering the context of Canadian electoral politics PP did a superb job. Now consider what a total f-up Steyn made of his career due to his careless smart a$$ mouth; you gotta laugh at his chutzpah writing an assessment of PP’s valiant efforts. And oh, tho it was regrettable, PP’s misstep on the Anderson file was immaterial in this election. It mattered not one whit except for ideologically pure political junkie losers.
“Valiant” effort.
Stop it. You’re killing me.
Yawn, there is nothing Pierre could have done to appease you or other rabid Maxipads. You’re lost cause, just controlled Librano opposition.
A superb job! So typically Canadian!
The loser did a “superb” job.
Satisfaction with mediocrity and losing, is exactly why Conservatives lose election after election. Losing is never satisfactory!
PP did not pivot early when the carbon tax was reduced.
He didn’t attack Carney without kid gloves.
He didn’t take any risks.
He sounded Liberal Lite.
He also decided to attack Trump, another costly mistake. The problem with Canada, is what the Liberals have done to this country, making it weak, allowing Trump to have fun with it. Many of us do not see Trump as the problem, he’s a result of a weak country.
2 acquaintances didn’t vote, because of PP Trump hate.
And Cons will continue their Lib Lite Losing strategies.
“He also decided to attack Trump, another costly mistake. ”
The biggest mistake, for sure.
“And Cons will continue their Lib Lite Losing strategies.”
Yes they will. Some of their supporters here have already confirmed that.
“Considering the context of Canadian electoral politics PP did a superb job. ”
If he really had done a ‘superb’ job he would have won. He didn’t…he did an awful job.
“Now consider what a total f-up Steyn made of his career due to his careless smart a$$ mouth; you gotta laugh at his chutzpah writing an assessment of PP’s valiant efforts. ”
Huh? His career looks pretty good to me. He sure kicked Michael Mann’s ass and has a net worth of about 12 million dollars.
“And oh, tho it was regrettable, PP’s misstep on the Anderson file was immaterial in this election. It mattered not one whit except for ideologically pure political junkie losers.”
No, it was just one more indication (like voting to accuse all Canadians of genocide and enthusiastically supporting the despicable Quebec dairy cartel) that he is NOT a conservative…he’s Liberal Lite. And by “ideologically pure political junkie losers” I assume you mean people with the integrity to hold and defend actual principles? (I can see how that might confuse you).
“It mattered not one whit except for ideologically pure political junkie losers.”
Agreed completely. Maxipad Jacobins desperately need something to hold onto and bash Pierre with. They probably didn’t even know about this episode until Steyn fed them it.
He spoke out against the climate scam.
Lesson from the “this is not the hill to die on” conservatives is, do me, hard.
Mark Steyn has never been good and hasn’t said anything intelligent in decades if ever. Does that idiot actually think that going after brown folk and ‘globalists’ would play well with Canadians? How dumb and out of it can this mfer be?
It was an Orange Man Bad election, nothing else:
https://x.com/MisbehavinMR/status/1917322674402951420
Boomers are the Me Generation for a reason.
OMB dominated but it wasn’t ‘nothing else’, if that were true there’d be a huge Liberal majority. I gotta read the whole article but I actually think Ivison nailed it in calling this 2 elections running into each other: the OMB election + one with issues that favored PP.
Fair enough. Point being Orange Man Bad was what saved Libranos.
Also in the long run Libranos are toast:
https://x.com/MisbehavinMR/status/1917332162581573775
“In the long run, we’re all toast.”
John Maynard Keynes, Childless Homosexual Economics grad
So other than Economics he was just like UnMe?
Don’t see how it is related though.
Hans Gruber:
If memory serves Keynes had no formal training in economics.
So just like UnMe, then?
Perhaps we’re speaking of Andrew Coyne.
“In the long run, we’re all French toast!”- Pierre Trudeau
Still a ways to go. Total leftist seat count was 178.
Yes, absolutely. But it was much closer than every election in recent history and a higher Conservative vote count/percent to boot, higher than under Harper in fact. Higher in Ontario than last Ford’s win too (again percent and count). Remove Trump factor and we would have had it. Of course losing seven seats (by last count) thanks to Maxipads playing interference for Libranos did not help either.
This pretty well sums it up.
Changing your shirt because you soiled your pants. Then wondering why you still stink.

As more and more boomers succumb to MAID to own the orange man bad the country will shift right. Unfortunately we’ve got to wait them out.
Piss off w/ the boomer crap. It’s [spit] Progs that voted for Marx Carnage & the Lieberals, and there is a healthy helping of those across the age spectrum. Jeezuz…
Carnage won the over 50 demographic and lost the under 50 demographic. That is a fact.
Carnage won the over 50 demographic and lost the under 50 demographic. That is a fact.
Don’t care about age. Age is not the issue. Age is not the enemy.
Which statement is more accurate:
a) Boomers elected Marx Carnage;
b) [spit] Progs elected Marx Carnage?
Perhaps jimmy is UnMe under a different name?
I’m a boomer and I survived the 1980s. Between PET and Mulruin, I was out of work for 3 full years, though not consecutively. Nope, it was more like a year on and then a year collecting dole, not a particularly stable situation.
Ah, but being a boomer, I accumulated such wealth, didn’t I? Uh-huh. I figured that for every year I was unemployed, I needed at least 2, closer to 3, to rebuild my finances to where they were before I was given the pink slip. Those were hardly conditions to become rich, let alone settle down or even buying a house.
I knew a lot of boomers during those times and many of them were unaffected by those conditions, all of them equally as clueless about reality as he is. A lot of them where schoolteachers who, once they qualified for permanent status, couldn’t be fired or laid off. Others were equally as immune because they became members of the clergy. (How many church ministers have been laid off lately, eh?) And, yes, many were progressives. (One lady I knew became quite chummy with the Alberta NDP.)
But that’s ancient history to the likes of someone with a “waddya dun for me lately” attitude and, therefore, irrelevant.
Do we need a mandatory “not all boomers” disclaimer on every post that points out that unlike the rest of Canada, majority of boomers supported Carnage and that it was their vote that won the election?
I think Rolf Harris identified the Liberal voter base:
https://youtu.be/hlSsffF2xhA?si=5rLqg-gdAE5TxEt7
It’s overwhelmingly progressive boomers who voted for this and has been in every federal election after 2015. The numbers don’t care about your delicate feelings.
Progressive how?
Shutting down fossil fuels, and hence energy security and affordable energy is progressive?
Making home ownership unaffordable is … progressive?
Importing millions of newcomers who don’t look like the population is … progressive?
Taxing the middle class into oblivion is … progressive?
Mandating unworkable EV’s is progressive?
I don’t see anything progressive about any of the policies of the Canadian Far-left. Everything they do is regressive … and coercive
Congrats you won a pointless semantic argument.
Perspective Kenji.
Progressive.
Like rust.
Progressive.
Like cancer.
Liberalism,in its modern form,is a progressive disease.
Piss off you mealy mouthed cunned stunt.
Carnage is going to bring in big estate taxes.
The Libs will bring back the 66% capital gains tax. With exception for green investments. But green investments don’t make money.
I also think the Libs will tax primary residence sales.
Meanwhile … I bought the RIDICULOUS… prefabricated … US Stock Market dip … and the money keeps rolling in. It’s LAUGHABLE how FAST the market is returning to sanity after the stupid little Trump-tantrum which saw BIG Funds dump stock to punish Trump’s tariffs. Well … that pile of crap ended pretty damn quick. Literally only 3-days of mass selling … and now weeks of gains.
I’m making BANK! And it’s only gonna get better. This was sooooooooo predictable. Thank you unhinged TDS leftist Fund Managers! You’re making me $$$ RICH!!!
Have friends, hard Liberal bike-laners, house just paid off, thought they achieved that promised mortgage freedom but just voted to be taxed on their equity, for the “common good.”
Classic example of Ottawa transplants, in Alberta for 30+ years, never once considered voting for Alberta, only for Ottawa.
He was a bit shocked to learned that the name “Trudeau” was a swear word in my house. If we didn’t make each other laugh, we’d have come to blows three decades ago.
As if James … as if
All I can say is that Tony Blair’s meeting overlooking the Thames with WEF Banker Carney was Canada’s Waterloo Sunset … only now … NOBODY will feel safe.
https://youtu.be/YIlxLO-XjX0?si=HJARKLCK_T42dILt
Has there ever been a time that wasn’t interesting?
I expect a S & C agreement with either the Bloc or NDP any day now. Just as Trudeau did. Or maybe Carney can convince the rudderless NDP to join up and become LPC MP’s.
Steyn did a good assessment of Polievre.
PP might as well go look for a real job,for the first time in his life. Do Fuller Brush salesmen still exist?
It will not be easy for non-elite Canadians for the next four years, maybe by then the CPC will have recruited another candidate to lose to a Liberal.
Our local CPC incumbent lost, in the second most conservative region of B.C.
Depressing, but not surprising.
It only seems appropriate that “Pierre Pussievre” become a tampon sales-uh-person … gently, and compassionately installing tampon vending machines in every boys restroom in every Canadian school
To be honest my wife forced me to vote for PP.. It was red meat that tasted like chicken.. And now that I have lost for the 4th time in a row.. I need a holiday..
That’ll learn ya.
Where were the “Just Visiting” Ads? Where was the equivalent of the 2 minute speech that Mulroney gave to do in Turner?
There were many effective attacks available, but the con braintrust had no interest in using them.
“There were many effective attacks available, but the con braintrust had no interest in using them.”
I don’t watch TV but I do listen to the radio when I drive. Here in Vancouver the only radio ads I heard were from the NDP.
Also, I’d like to see the Bloc, Cons and NDP get together on a single piece of legislation banning Brookfield from any government work or funding for as long as Carney is prime minister.
Ya, like the Bloc has any interest in doing what’s best for Canada. The liberals just bribe them with money stolen from the west. Works every time.
There’ll be something else to frighten Canadians in the next election, and the one after that. The liberals know Canadians and how to manipulate them better than any other party. Also, working against the conservatives is that when they finally do get in power they conserve nothing and fiddle their time away obsessing over balancing the budget, which only frees up the credit limit for when the liberals inevitably get re-elected. Their supporters grow tired watching the kabuki and lose interest in the show. It’s why they’re known as the stupid party.
Fact is that this election was not going to change anything regardless of outcome. Canada was designed and built broken and until that is addressed by a people’s forum elections in Canada are basically a waste of time.
Here’s my analysis and it’s better than any of those jerks: the CPC campaign sucked and had terrible amateurish advertising. Pierre couldn’t wouldn’t pivot in response to either Carney ascension or Trump’s insane belligerence and when he did it was stupid and lame and cringe. The ground operation was a well-financed mess by multiple accounts. Jenni Byrne or whatever her name is should never be allowed near a campaign again.
Pierre’s mistakes go back a long time and start with idiotic pandering to the BumpKin Convoy Revolution, sticking by supply management, and calling for a Chinese EV tariff. Awful and so was his call for ending sales tax on homes. He was never popular with Canadians, his popularity numbers were bad as of December 2024.
For all that, the CPC didn’t ‘blow their lead’ as so many claim. They peaked at something like 45% and got a few points below that. The NDP and Greens almost totally collapsed into the Liberals and the CPC still managed to gain scores of seats. Matt Gurney had a good summary on Xitter that was much better than Fernando’s posts about Ontario and Ford which were kinda cringe. Yeah Ford got a higher percentage of the Ontario vote and won multiple elections….against some of the weakest opponents he could have…but Pierre just won a million more votes in Ontario than Ford did a couple months ago.
Most critical is that the CPC got its teeth into the GTA which I kind of feared was going to be a Red Dawn this morning. They need to work that beachfront and others in BC and do defense in Calgary. They should probably turf Pierre, he just showed too much bad judgement and too little capacity to learn. Most importantly, his negatives are high and baked into the electorate. He’s a ballast on a party that actually has a lot of underlying latent strength.
Predictably, your hatred of conservatism and white people drives your arguments.
As usual: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDmGhethEoQ
That goes for Pierre, Freedom Convoy and everything else you just dumped on. None of it mattered in this election anyway.
No it’s completely true and everyone’s hatred of the FreeDumb Convoy drove Poilievre right out of his riding and Stornaway.
Support of Freedom Convoy is what lunched Pierre into a leadership position and was a galvanizing moment for the party that got rid of O’Toole and told Charest to pound sand.
It wasn’t hated by everyone as you insist on claiming. It was Ottawans who supported the truckers, fed them, offered their own homes to shelter them and give them an opportunity to wash up or use a toilet. It was Ottawans who organized the gas can rebellion, send them funds etc.
You hate the Freedom Convoy because of what it represents, a rejection a dismissal of technocratic tyranny you hold dear. You loved and defended the lockdowns because they gave you the opportunity to see common people humiliated and their lives destroyed while you jerked off in your condo like on normal every weekday. Normal people, who wanted normalcy restored, who wanted to return to their lives that you so despise, rejected your preaching with nothing more that “bitch f@#$ off already” and a shrug. You have an MS, they don’t and they ignored your arguments and demands to be heard and respected. And all you could do was stomp your feet. You hate them with all the might of your virgin limp dick ego. Why is it that they dared to do something about tyranny that you defended? And they were mostly white, and bigger than you, and spoken plain language and enjoyed the simple things. And carried themselves with dignity that was foreign to you. A dignity that only free people have and savages will never relate to.
So you cheered when Potato brutalized them and illegally imposed the martial law. You pathetic hypocrite who always hides behind the due process when savages harm civilized.
And you hate Pierre and Leslyn and others because they supported the common folk who rose up.
“Yeah Ford got a higher percentage of the Ontario vote ”
Ford, 2025 Ontario election: 43%
Pierre, 2025 Federal election, share of Ontario vote: 43.8%.
So yes, Pierre has done better in Ontario than Ford did in Ontario.
Let that sink in.
There goes another of your knee jerk theories.
https://enr.elections.ca/Provinces.aspx?lang=e
Sorry, I mean to say that the delta between Ford’s PC party percent and the 2nd place party was better for him than Poilievre. But yeah that just kind of reinforces my following point.
That delta is entirely irrelevant. All your litany of complains did not amount to anything substantial. Pierre did better those you call successful. Sometimes you play a hand perfectly and still lose. Because you’re blinded by hate of him and everything conservative you completely ignore the incredibly powerful role he played. For all intends and purposes he is the party now. That is why post election he is getting endorsements from previous party leaders including Harper and Sheer.
Get your own blog. Who cares what a skull-stacker has to say?
Liberals think Trump played right into their hands, but Trump has proven smarter than think tanks, universities, NGO’s, bureaucracies, media outlets, and other rooms full of nasty liberals – it’s more likely they were played right into his hands. 51st State anyone?
No he hasn’t. He has proven to be the best thing to happen to the far left since US lend-lease to the USSR
I do not think Carney has an interest in running Canada. His interest is in pushing the globalist agenda. If the Blair story is correct, that is why Carney was recruited. The globalists are nervous about Trump. Trump with his focus on nationalism and a strong US is a big threat. Carney’s moves will try to weaken Trump for that reason. .Canada is merely a context to give him leverage. I suspect that in the process, Canadas economy will be destroyed.
“Carney’s moves will try to weaken Trump for that reason. .Canada is merely a context to give him leverage.”
He will fail miserably when he realizes (if he doesn’t already) that he has little to nothing to use to ‘weaken’ Donald Trump, but Trump has lots of ways to hurt Carney (and Canada).
” I suspect that in the process, Canadas economy will be destroyed.”
Beyond a doubt.
Trump is doing all that he can to weaken and damage himself and his country.
