8. The flu is back again? Since when?

   1. I just got a notice on my cell phone about a week ago that there is a shot waiting for me, I suppose it’s because I’m old. They can just keep waiting.

   2. Influenza comes back every year in a mutated version, which is why a new vaccine is required every year if you want to avoid it. It’s fairly effective.

      Personally I can’t remember the last time I caught the flu. At least 30…40 years ago…I remember having it the winter of ’82-’83 but not since. Before flu vaccine was available.

      I’ve never had the flu shot and never will. Had all my childhood shots – polio, smallpox, diphtheria etc. those were definitely worthwhile, but flu? No thanks. COVID? Not a chance in hell will I ever get one of those.

      I caught COVID early on, August of 2020. Never had it since. But some of my extended family members who fell for the fear-mongering had multiple shots, and subsequently caught COVID 3 times. And one young man had a vaccine reaction in his heart. He’ll never get another one.

    The last time I took a shot was in 2011. Flu shot via annual physical check up upon recomendation of our Family Dr.

    Within 2 weeks, I started to feel OFF weird like, not sick but not normal. Took about 3.5 months to feel normal again.

    Went back in 2012, for same physical – doc comes in with a fit on a tray, I Ask her whats that..? She says You annual flu shot – I tell her NOPE not taking it, and explain that last yr right after I felt off for 3.5 months.

    At that point SHE COMPLETELY lost her shit Literally…!!!
    SCREAMING Super Loudly..!! at me that “You cant get sick from a flu shot..!!!!”
    “I didnt say I was SICK – I FELT OFF – thats it”.

    I don’t even think she even heard the last part as she continued to lose her mind….I walked out. THERE were at least 5-6 other folks waiting…I said to them, You sure you wanna deal with this NUTCASE…?? and walked out.

    1. Re the doctor who said “You can’t get sick from a flu shot”; did they read the info they give out with the shot?

       Normally the administering physician or nurse will insist you wait in their office for 15 minutes after getting such a shot. Why? To catch adverse side effects (which they’ve just finished telling you don’t occur).
