  1. You’d think a contractor wouldn’t do a half-assed job on this one. You know, given the site and the client. But no. Old habits die hard.

  2. Now I’m trying to imagine how much this landscape contractor was getting paid for his government work. I imagine $22,000.00 hammers like he’s supplying the Pentagon. And he’s brought a broken cart … and literally WATCHES as it gouges the brand new limestone.

Pssst … that handheld leaf blower ain’t gonna fix the gash.

Thank you President Trump! And backcharge the contractor YOUR hourly rate for chasing down the culprit.

      1. I’m working it today. I’m re-hanging doors that I just painted with Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo oil base paint with M-1 oil base paint extender which makes it dry to a glass-like finish … like the homes in Atherton. Yeah, I spray paint the doors myself … and they come out PERFECT. No, I’m not a Painting contractor. I’m BETTER than a painting contractor.

And I’m carrying these doors my 70yo self up and down my winding stairwell and NOT gouging the shit out of my beautiful wainscot or hand railing. Because I CARE about my job.

Thanks for asking. And thank me for my attention to this matter.

        1. Good rebuttal, Kenji.
          I. too, have done a wide range of home improvement projects with care and due consideration, from painting to door reparation and beyond.
Oh, and to the triple six goof who likes to call you kenjee…I have also worked construction, but brought a work ethic to it, whether roofing, or digging weeping tile trenches, etc. Whoever you are, using triple six is a tell for what you are, namely a Goof.
          Have a nice day.

          1. stevie
that ain’t construction, so apparently you are constructionist illiterate ,doing 107 hospitality suites at a hilton is construction, converting an old college to loft conds and building a commercial plaza is. Now try keeping up. I’v hung a few doors, re and re’d several shithouses , built out buildings and other such minor projects, and don’t consider them ‘construction’

        2. kenji, a cpl reno tricks l picked up over the years.
lve put in 3 p.t. decks with perfect post placement 100% all 3.
this is the trick. locate the main 2X8 support beams, whan scrap 2X4s into the ground and toenail screws to suspend all the 2X8 support beams in the air.
you see where lm going with this. measuring diagonally make sure the hypotenuses same you’ve got the rectangle. screw the premade steps in place, the get 2 posts @ each side top. oh look, the spot this post joins to the step apparatus lines up exactly.

once all in place, measurements check AND very important it helps them visualize and voila theyre impresse and direct more features = higher proce and great satisfaction that client know in their heart couldnt get a better deal.
but for me was just myself.

p.s. less waste this system. traditionally builder buy 8′ each hole. nope.
drop it in successive holes no waste except last one. s that 1′ waste out of 16′ if the holes are 5′

the ex’s cousin’s spouse had me build one 2 level. l explained a safety feature aim 2nd level deck boards different direction, stands out in low light. etc.
          more to come.
well one more, do redo door locks frame wood chewed up.
pcs 14/2 with insulation. jam all them in that will fit the damaged hole. the copper and insulation combined do 2 things: the wire and nylon bend to comply with irregular inner surface of the chewed up area, providing anchoring based strictly on the irregular shape wont slide. screws bite into the nylon it fact easier that wood.
no waiting for splinters, toothpicks etc to wood glue dry.

          1. I’ve spent a lifetime trying to learn the tips and techniques of the BEST contractors. My very first lesson ever learned (in the era before nail guns) … an old finish carpenter taught me to cut my finish nails with a pair of dykes (insert joke here) to create a chisel edge … that way the nail TEARS it’s way through the wood rather than PUSH its way through the wood and split your trim. Yes, it works exactly as described – no split trim.

Just like President Trump, I admire the crap out of quality craftsmen, carpenters and contractors of all description. However, like anything in life … there’s a big bell curve out there and the great ones are a small group.

    1. I like how they put the heavy awkward skid on top of the pallet jack with an unsecured load and then ran it off the path. Christ!

  3. Thousands of Democrats are frantically scrambl;ing to find the immigration status of those workers

  4. Indoor pallet jack was a poor choice.
I wonder if they brought it or were forced to use it.

  5. I understand being upset about poor work but shit happens.

This has a “rich old man problem” feel to it.

    My chauffeur scratched the Bentley

    1. It’s only the White House.
Yeah, shit happens; and the current occupant will never notice.

What kind of work do you think this sub-contractor does for the average DC resident who doesn’t know F’All about building and landscaping?

Thank you, though, for helping us understand the mediocrity that permeates so much of the present day work force.

    2. Is Trump the only person in government that cares about shitty work on taxpayer’s dime to gubmint property? This is the white house. If I was doing the job I’d do it right, just as a matter of pride and I’m not even American. Also, the employer wants to revamp government buildings in the classical style, so lotsa limestone contracts ahead and possible moolah. The contractor is an idiot.

  6. ha ha having a flashback.
Hilton hotel south end London Canaduh 2003-4 lm an electrician’s assistant.
the other assistant, it was like a month to opening we’re doing o/t barely on sched. the other helper waits until the sidewalk concrete is poured to roll a full copper coil prob 100m 14/2 armour clad. they used steel studs.

(the top floor consisted of 2 great diagonal beams and double thick drywall because of that. AND l found out why l had a hunch make all the leads longer than avg. sumptin told me. that was why. the leads on the top floor, 6, had to reach extra because the dbl thick drywall. 3/4″ stuff.)

anyways the ‘bear tracks’ were there next morning when it was hard. still there.

  7. I have succeeded in turning energy into matter. Thank you for your attention to his matter!
