So they voted for a guy to “lead” the country: a neophyte who’s never held elected office and was out of the country for 12 years, nearly ruining England’s economy as head of the Bank of England.

      I want to ask them if they feel better that carnage surrendered to Trump vs trying Pollievre, but really, what’s the point?

    If I’m not mistaken Carnage put reciprocal tariffs on CUSMA protected items — breaking the terms of the agreement.

  10. A Carney supporter and voter today told me she thinks the border should be shut down, no trucks in or out, nothing from the USA. As long a Trump is in power all good Canadians must boycott any and all things American. I pointed out our winter produce comes via the USA. She said she never buys American produce, only Mexican. I pointed out Mexican produce comes by truck through the USA. It was a head exploding moment for her. She then went into a diatribe about how Trump is just the most evil man in the entire world. She doesn’t care if Trump does anything right because he is so evil.

  11. Quite the interesting day for late August. Financial markets seemed to be very happy today on both sides of the 49th.

    The Greatest Economist Ever (TM) has caved on countervailing tariffs. It is actually a bit of a surprise but I think it comes from a realization that fourth rate canaduh has absolutely no bargaining position whatsoever. Large manufacturing in the great Dominion is allowed solely at the pleasure of the United States or by heavy subsidy i.e. anything made in Quebec. If The Greatest Economist Ever (TM) wants to preserve any of that…ANY!… he is going to have to acquiesce and do so quickly. Getting rid of that F!@#!@g stupid EV mandate will be required as well, but we’ll have to see what shakes out on that one. There are too many liarberals with their fingers in the till to just throw that one out.

    Next up…DAIRY!!! (in shallah!) Before the usual quota holders show up and say that it is too small for DJT to worry about, he, and many of his constituents that have his ear, find the very principle of supply management abhorrent. Any movement will require the end of this horrid policy. Which then, (almighty Lord in Heaven make it so) lead to Quebec leaving.

    The Greatest Economist Ever (TM) has already shown that he can quickly cave on legislation duly passed by Parliament and given Royal Assent and refuse to follow it(The Digital Services Tax). He can, and will be forced to do the same on the moronic legislation know as Bill C-202.

    On a side note, had butter from New Zealand (available at Costco) on fresh bread on Wednesday night. To quote Kenji; “Ohhhhh Mommmma!!!” Highly recommend! Far better than the usual crap our dairy’s produce.
