  2. As usual, VDH addresses the situation accurately, calmly and succinctly, showing why Donald Trump was right to confront Ramaphosa the way he did. South Africa owes the US a debt of gratitude but chooses to side with America’s opponents against America and America’s allies. The Americans owe South Africa absolutely nothing, zero, zilch.

    Perhaps they’re so used to fawning over the likes of Al Sharpton because of the colour of his skin that they think it’s naturally what everyone does, they cannot fathom that Trump would treat him like an adult.

    He could have expanded on this a bit to point out, it’s not just racially motivated, there is also the rank tribalism that permeates South Africa.
