Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Carney is not a politician but a technocrat, and to that species, Parliaments and democracy are merely things that keep them from doing what they want to do. Watch Carney render Parliament totally irrelevant. He’ll rule by decree.
Like Justin!
I read here from some at SDA countless times that the feds had to table a budget or shit was getting shut down.
Apparently not.
Just another check mark certifying Shithole Status.
Turdhole Dystopia.
Sadly for you, we are right. First order of business of the new government will be Speech from the Throne followed by introduction of the 2025 legislation for the national budget. They are indeed out of time, which is why they have to pass a budget starting now.
Ok.
So I should be reading about a vote on it not long after King Jughead goes back to his Island Shithole?
The current special warrant via Order in Council funding the government doesn’t expire until June 29th, 9 days after parliament rises for their summer vacation. Carney has said either he’s not passing a budget, or he’s proposing on in the fall depending on who you listen to.
I suspect that his plan is to let parliament rise, and then “sign” another OIC special warrant to fund the government for another 6 months, even though that is illegal.
And like all bureaucrats, he has the default response to everything that goes wrong as not his responsibility.
Bureaucrats work at growing budgets and headcount and never taking responsibility for things when they go wrong.
The top level bureaucrats are good at meetings and making grand gestures about things that are going to be completed in the future, or accomplishments they had no part in.
In the meantime the National Post’s Christopher Nardi will be serving up cutesy anecdotes for his readers about how “Mr.No Nonsense” goes off the deep end if you end a sentence with a preposition.
Understandable. Parliament can be such a distraction when you are trying to save democracy.
The Liberal MPs want to avoid Parliament for same reasons members of organized crime want to avoid a courtroom. /s
I expect the new Carney Liberal government will use the same tactics as the old Trudeau Liberal government to avoid accountability and transparency. Parliamentary Committees will be disrupted. Word salads will be used to answer questions. All damning documents will be shielded by declaring cabinet confidentially, national security and corporate trade secrets. Most legislative changes will be implemented through the bureaucracy insteaded of voted on in Parliament. Liberal appointed Judges will rule in the Liberal’s favor in all but a few token cases or cases that affect Quebec’s interests.
Separation is the only way to break free of the corrupted Canadian governing system.

That approach will only work in the unlikely event that Trump is distracted from the Canadian-US fentanyl issue. Also the pending Bill C-63 (anti-freedom of speech cloaked under the guise of hate crime) may yet get the same deserved wrath from the White House that both the EU and UK recently enjoyed.
Carney’s approach to hiding is very likely to provoke Trump Team , and may yet save Canada from The Liberals.
After watching Carney’s meeting with Trump, my impression is that Trump owns Carney. There’s a few theories about why Carney so suddenly became a passive lapdog toward Trump after all the bark and bluster from the Liberals during the election campaign. Carney’s actions like dropping most of the tarrifs and immediately joining the Golden Dome project confirms his submissive posture at the meeting.
I suspect Trump will get whatever he wants from Carney and that’s why he wanted Carney to win. The question is what else does President Trump want from Canada? Border security, the drug trade problem and trade fairness are obvious. Are there other goals and objectives? To paraphrase a humorous old quote – Why is America’s petroleum, critical minerals and other valuable mining products under Canadian soil?
If you were Pres. Trump, which unhappy, resource rich Canadian provinces would you actively try to recruit for your team? He could meet all of Danielle Smith’s and Scott Moe’s wish lists given to Carney immediately, not at the glacially slow speed of the Canadian federal government.
yep. there are posts at National Post (pun intended) accusing Canaduhian voter of “falling for it”. oh the vitriol. lol
LC Bennett …
Correct , but I suspect the story of Trump-Carney is even deeper. Notice how the Epstein file issue is nonexistent in the media , when earlier there was much fever about if/when the files would be released. No matter who is in the White House , those files will NEVER be released until all the parties involved are dead , as those files are too useful as tools for any President. Niccolò Machiavelli would smile!
If Carney had any involvement with Epstein , Trump would know. Hopefully that is not the case or Canada is really screwed. More likely Trump has some knowledge of Carney’s previous financial or real estate history.
Whatever the case , I was initially puzzled that Trump effectively backhanded Poilievre (“He’s not a MAGA guy”) , but viewing the US posture towards all other countries , it wants instability that it can exploit. Trump prefers a weak unstable Canada on his northern border , and this Carney has delivered.
Currently the US has lots of light crude , but very little heavy crude from which diesel is refined . It is importing large quantities of Russian Mazut M100 which is blended with US light crude to refine diesel. The Alberta oil sands is a major source of heavy crude for the US (at a considerable price discount) and Trump will exploit Canada’s lack of ability to export oil/gas internationally.
Regardless if one likes or hates Trump, he may actually save Canada from the Liberals . Here is an interesting article about who actually runs the US with an aside about international politics and UK free speech suppression. I have been waiting for Trump , Vance or Elon to take a shot at Canada’s freedom of speech record , but so far they haven’t , which suggests yet another aspect in which Carney is vulnerable.

The G7 meeting in Kananaskis Alberta next month might make things clearer but who knows. In the end, it’s probably best for Alberta and Saskatchewan to simply pursue their own interests without counting on anything from the US or Canadian government. Govern like an independent nation that prioritizes our own prosperity. Set up the infrastructure for independence while preparing for a referendum.
Given it’s the same government, hell yes; paralysis by pontifications, proclamations and promises won’t cut it.
It seems voters in Upper, Lower Canada along and the Atlantic provinces like being lied to, played for suckers.
The strange part is, according to a recent Leger poll, while roughly 50% Albertans now support separation over remaining, nearly 60% of voters in Canada understand their feelings, which is counter to why they elected these unenlightened despots of dystopic direction who by inaction and bad acts shall assure the death of Canada.
I hope they don’t assume transfer payments and CPP overcontributions will continue. Albertans tell me they’re nearing 60% separation support, so already a clear majority, heading towards an overwhelming mandate.
Big baby boomers should have been more careful what they didn’t wish for, their Trump terrors now subsided.
I’ve given up trying to figure out the thinking of Liberal voters in provinces east of Saskatchewan. Perhaps they’ve completely given up on the ideals of a responsible government that promotes prosperity and works in the best interest of their citizens and country. Have they become so accustomed to political corruption and dysfunction federally and provincially that their only goal is to grab a few crumbs for themselves?
They seem angered that citizens in Alberta and Saskatchewan seek a better deal within or perhaps outside of Canada. They want us to be passive and accepting of 2nd class citizenship without complaint. I guess if Saskatchewan and Alberta separated or get a fairer deal, there will be fewer crumbs of taxpayer money to fight over east of Saskatchewan.
Frederic Bastiat, in his 1850 opus on liberty and critique of socialism, “The Law,” described the great washed – thanks to their “classical education” and love of the Greek and Egyptian God philosopher kings – have always felt superior to revolting peasants and had long since, even after the US and some of Europe ditched its kings, were sure they had the right to rule our lives – but for their benefit.
He stated, among many other forgotten axioms of natural law, for the progressives to regress to totalitarianism, IOW their total power, but given their self-aggrandizement, by increments then large chunks of nanny narcissistic interference, that they require three elements: “radical passivity,” “the omnipotence of the legislature,” and the “infallibility of laws,” regardless of the pain inflicted on civil society. He understood then what so many big baby boomers don’t – they excuse themselves for power, and that is both their means and ends, meaning they can lie, cheat at most of all, fearmonger.
Unfortunately for the great washed, history has shown that the great unwashed tend to reject the aristocratic agenda. You would think the highly educated class would take some lessons from history rather than simply regurgitating their professors words to get a A+ on their university exam. I suppose learning history is quite different from understanding history.
But I don’t think Canada’s aristocratic class has much to worry about in 7 or 8 of Canada’s provinces. The other 2 or 3 provinces could make history…i hope.
The facade of “parliament” has been obvious for decades, but something has evolved…especially since Covid.
The power in Canada is hegemonic enough that going through the motions of parliament may be coming to an end.
Carney is fighting economic collapse? In a way, yes, him and his international class of very wealthy people will not suffer economic collapse, they will make money whether canada goes broke or doesn’t.
Your economic collapse is designed by Liberals and has the approval of the stupid that live in this place.
Parliament was “vacated” a while ago, the “Cabinet” is just for show according to ministers and staffers, the prime minister’s office issues the orders in this place, that’s all. No debates, resistance is futile.
Inflation is no problem to those who own appreciating assets, which within a generation will be reserved for only the wealthy.
Why is anyone at this point in time filing income tax returns to support and pay for this Sh*t Show? These scum sucking parasites do not deserve a cent of our money.
The government takes our money every payday, up front, like the mafia. We only do a tax return annually to claim a small percentage of the money back as a refund. The information on the return is also used for other benefits. Didn’t do a return for last year, no (now a final) “carbon rebate” for you this year.
Canadian PM Mark Carney Will Launch a Censorship Regime
https://www.independentsentinel.com/canadian-pm-mark-carney-will-launch-a-censorship-regime/
Even the Brits gathered enough people people to walk off jobs in order to cripple their government. Not enough Canadians have balls.
Emergency powers, CBDC, 13 economies converted to one (presumably centrally controlled), censorship…
(because the “climate change” scare is wearing thin, so the powers that be have to invent/create new “crises” that only they can solve)?
Does anybody get the feeling that we are indeed being manipulated? …manipulated to accept government seizing control of every aspect of our lives… from what cars to buy, to which crate we are to live in?
The worst prediction I read about Carney’s One Economy for Canada was that the federal Liberal government might try to nationalize provincial debt. Nothing to substantiate the prediction but it would not exactly surprise me if they tried to do it. The provinces where Liberals get the majority of their votes are also the provinces that are most heavily in debt, some of them have the highest subnational debt in the world IIRC.
