  1. “GBA was initially created to factor in female characteristics into the procurement of military materiel and has since been transformed into a useless overbearing policy that has infiltrated every aspect of the Canadian Armed Forces,” said MacGillivray.

I remember DND and the CF spent years trying to come up with a combat bra. Eventually they gave up and somebody had an attack of brains: Let’s give females an allowance so they can go out and buy commercial sports bras. And women can thank their lucky stars. I have never seen any part of a female CF uniform that looked like it was designed to be worn by an actual woman. At one point in the late eighties female air force shirts were see-through and they had to fix that. The skirts looked like something out of East Germany and the shoes were the kinds nuns wore.

Anyways, this out of control policy making its way into every facet of the CF is the legacy of Anand, that saw everything in terms of identity politics. There may be some case by case need for it, for example if you send females in a, uh, diverse and multicultural place like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan, Somalia or the Sudan, but a reliable sidearm is probably better.

  2. ye gawds what an exceptional embarrassment for the CF in foreign lands.

l hope but dont think they know this will change 34 nanoseconds AFTER the new government is sworn in. the date is undetermined, but hinges on the musings of a malicious (n.b. not malignant, hes too clever to make it obvious) narcissist.

    1 hollow point .45

    just one

with the right trajectory would save $billions losses and years to
    repair our reputation for starters.

  3. The Canadian military has about 32k “ready for battle” troops, grotesquely underfunds all aspects of the military, has promised new ships and submarines which may or may not be ready in about a decade, seems unable to source winter ready sleeping bags, makes a mash out of every newly sourced military gear and contracts, has installed tampon dispensers in men’s washrooms …

and has no idea why recruitment levels are not being met.

    no idea.

    1. There are not 32 k battle ready troops. I am very familiar with the military as it exists and the people in it would be slaughtered. There maybe 4 possibly 5 k at the outside, and they would be slaughtered because they are under equipped and under trained.

    2. Fat chance.
      22,500 reg army
      20% of that is women
You would be hard pressed to get 10K fit fighting troops.
Basically the lower bowl of Roger’s Center.
      It aint pretty.

      1. A far cry of the million man volunteers in the CF that fought in WWII from a country of 11 million people.

    3. My recollection was about 6k ready for deployment, and that was pushing it. You could probably find more people wandering around aimlessly at DND HQ.

      1. “My recollection was about 6k ready for deployment, and that was pushing it. You could probably find more people wandering around aimlessly at DND HQ.”

I was always under the impression that the NYPD could defeat the Canadian military.

  4. the Liberal Party since Trudeau has always enjoyed attempting to use flaccid power in attempts to influence others, why should the ashes of the Canadian Forces be any different?

  5. The Ukrainians will suit them up, drive them to the front and kick them into the snow. With or without rifle.

  6. Change? Don’t hold your breath guys. The current CDS, madame Carignan, her previous post was Chief of Professional Conduct and Culture. What I call the chief Komissar. Back when the CF’s main priority was culture change – according to the Minister. A 3 star post created by… you know who. Obviously to groom and prepare her for the first female CDS. That immediately sends a signal as to what the CF’s current priorities are. Is the fact that she is a woman a factor in her appointment? Do you have to ask? I am more than willing to give her a chance to see if she is competant. I never met her. But I have never seen a CDS affect the trajectory of the CF in any shape or form different than what the Minister or PM wants. And none of them know shit about the military. In a way it’s a good thing, because she can do no wrong. There is zero chance the media nor any politician will ever blame her for anything.

  7. Make no mistake … this is simply a full employment act for freaks and hairies, dykes and fairies. The taxpayers will employ them, because no one else will

  8. So Trudeau and the NDHQ have reinvented the NKVD, political officers from Soviet Russia great move

  9. CAF: Canadian Armed Faggots.
“Ith that a weapon in your pocket or are you jutht glad to thee me.”

  10. Many Canadians are so smug about their military with its vaunted Peace keeping contribution. How about no more peace keeping duties until Canada meets its 2% GDP contribution commitment to NATO?

    1. How many peacekeepers do we currently have deployed, and how effective are they?

The answer as of August 31, 2024, a total of 31, including 10 police officers.

Now I recognize that some of the countries are only providing fodder, but could we do better than for example Sierra Leone(40), or China(1798) when we are claiming to have a “vaunted Peace Keeping contribution”?

      1. ” when we are claiming to have a “vaunted Peace Keeping contribution”?”

A nostalgic throwback to the days of the Cold War, when proxies waging war on behalf of the USSR ceased to fight on command, and we Canadians would then go in (sometimes without ammunition, I’m told) to stand around and look like ‘peacekeepers’; they were never actually in danger, since the proxies did as they were told. Those days are long gone. There are more ‘factions’ waging war today than nations, and they seem to answer to no one.

  11. Is Poilievre going to stop it?
    Does he have a position?
Is it so deep in that it can’t be undone?

  12. “At one point in the late eighties female air force shirts were see-through and they had to fix that. The skirts looked like something out of East Germany and the shoes were the kinds nuns wore.”

occurs to me, this was NOT incompetence, ignorance, chauvinism, anything of the sort.
it was a DELIBERATE CALCULATED MOVE TO DETER WOMEN FROM ENLISTING.
ie the total *opposite* of the stereotype ignoramus army grunt.
around 1986 the age limit to enlist in the reserve was increased, making me eligible once again. l fessed up to fracturing my left achilles tendon. eureka!!! DISQUALIFIED!!!
all the excuse necessary. didnt matter it was long long healed, didnt matter in subsequent years l set personal records in the weight lifting room that l never saw anyone else match. etc
what mattered, the local major determined HE wasnt going to have any no-nonsense old timers in his command for ‘whatever’ reason.
my opinion of the Cdn military at that point never quite recovered.
    veterans? total diff story.
