Things You’ll Never See On The CBC

    1. “The CBC is so confident it usually turns off comments.”

Yes, they started doing that a couple of years back…gradually cutting back the amount of time that comments were ‘open’ (always on Eastern Time, of course) then cutting back on the number of articles where they would even allow comments.

    2. Having worked in the radio business since 1973, I can tell you the CBC is an absolute joke. I’m going to say it has only sunk lower every year and is close to bottoming out. Tate is a typical out of touch Liberal and is only in it for the money. We must get rid of this boat anchor (the CBC) and move on. Steve O

  1. Quite a few crickets on SDA about those 25% tariffs. Ya know, to invoke a little Canadiana here, because I think it’s fitting of the moment, Donald Trump to so many on this site that are living on the north side of the border is basically your favourite hockey player, your Gretzky, your Lemieux, your Crosby, your Orr, your Howe… take your pick.

The big problem is that, like it or not, he’s not playing on your team. He’s actually playing against us right now. And to make a departure from the analogy, whether you believe he’s a genius or an idiot is probably bad for us either way, and most of you believe the former, which would arguably be even worse.

So anyway, I await the masochism that is sure to follow. Can’t stand Trudeau myself, but this one was started by the stable genius. :/ Have an excellent evening everyone. God help us all.

Yes. That’s because he was elected to be the President of the United States, not Canada.

    2. BLAAT. wrong answer.
in the short term, ie Trump’s term of office maybe so we will see.
in the long term, compare the TURDeau’s WEF endgame of eating bugs and owning nothing and ended with MAiD, not desireable at all as opposed to Trump restoring some sanity which ripples throughout the entire world, and thus postpones The End Times.

aka short term gain long term pain with the TURDeau, opposite w Trump

    3. Anything that hastens the end of this failing country is necessary oncology. Incomes in Canada have fallen to 60% of US incomes, whybdelay the inevitable. Harder, please.

    4. “Quite a few crickets on SDA about those 25% tariffs.”

They should be higher. The way Canada has been dealing with the Americans? Oh yeah. Tax cars made in Canada.

Wait for the Americans to declare visas are required for Canadians to visit the USA. That’s the size of baseball bat needed to wake Ottawa the f- up.

      1. “I just returned from a 4-day investigation at the border.

There are many human smugglers who are highly organized, trafficking people, drugs, and other contraband across the Canada-U.S. border. They operate brazenly, even advertising online.”

Certainly our illustrious PM The Turd™ can figure out the problem…. #Libranos polling at 17% FTW

It was good to see the above video clip of Andrew Scheer setting Miss Tait in her place, in front of Hedy Fry no less lol….

    5. Trump’s terms are acceptable. We have a duplicitous, incompetent government. They have a choice, secure the border, or not, and accept the economic downfall.
A secure border is a two way street. Trudeau has not maintained a secure border.

    6. Ivan watch Peter Santello ( you tube ). He has a video from a couple months ago way up yonder at the border.
No axe to grind, just reality.

Very simple to clean it up. Your type always wail at being held accountable.

    7. There’s been a 25% tariff imposed by Trudeau during his disastrous nine years in office. CAD $ was trading at around 90 cents when Harper left, now it’s 70 cents (and most likely to drop). This isn’t Trump’s fault.

If numbnuts would stop with economic disastrous policies, fund our military properly, stop fentanyl from getting into the US from Canada via China, refrain from criticizing/making fun of Trump, secure our border, and a dozen other idiotic things, maybe Trump would be a little nicer.

  2. Didn’t she get exactly what she deserves. Hope others at the CBC take note. People don’t want your garbage anymore.

    1. Well done, Mr. Scheer.
Tait looked like a goldfish in a bowl, and she rebutted as well as a goldfish.
Where was that Scheer when he had the chance?

      1. “Where was that Scheer when he had the chance?”

Bullseye stevie. Andy’s testicles finally dropped…five years too late.

    1. The Canada Post picket line down the road from here looks like an East Hastings homeless camp.

  3. Tait responded with the typical libtard arrogant stupidity complex. Too stupid to wipe the snot off her face and growls at you for pointing it out.

  4. Catherine Tait is just another in a long line of Urban Bigots who have an endless appetite for spending OTHER people’s hard-earned money, while enriching themselves to no end. Without her corrupt connections, she could never get a job in the private sector. To say she is in denial about the abysmal failure of the CBC to do its duty to ALL Canadians, would be the understatement of the last 90 years.

  5. I’m a big fan of what is known as “signalling theory” and all you need to know about this woman (and by extension, the organization she represents) is:

    1. Her bizarre hair color (any middle aged person who dyes their hair this color is invariably balls-deep crazy)

2 . Despite her being an anglophone, the way she puts on a transparently affected québécois accent when she pronounces “Radio Canada” (reminds me of when Eric Malling used to say “Nicaragua” in his ridiculous fake Spanish accent on CBC’s ‘Fifth Estate’). This shows that she – like a trained seal – is way, way too eager to please and flatter her Laurentian overlords, and not comfortable in her own (Anglo) skin.

  6. It would be easy to restructure the CBC. Cut its budget by 50%. Eliminate any political coverage. Focus on rural, northern and aboriginal areas with a focus on highlighting parts of Canada that people aren’t aware of. Also teach people in these areas real journalism (that will be hard).

On Trump, much of his dislike for Canada is the way we take advantage of our relationship with the US as personified by our current Prime Minister. Pay your 2% GDP to the military and stop re-routing cheap Chinese components into the US market (e.g. lightly processed aluminum) and Trump will back off. Make fun of Trump the moment he leaves your country and that won’t help you very much in the future.

Plus if Trump puts tariffs on oil & gas coming out of Canada isn’t that a good thing (climate change and all that)? How come only our own government can batter the oil & gas industry? Plus how can we have free tree with the USA when we can’t even have free trade between our own provinces? Trump has a lot to work with.
