  1. This is original programming from our national broadcaster. There are, what, 30 million tv sets in Canada? And twenty views for this lame “rural” comedy. Defund CBC.

  2. Given these percentages, I feel confident stating that people who watch CBC news are, in fact, fringe extremists.

    1. Today it is called “Friends of Canadian Media”.

I say sell the CBC to them for $1.00

  3. “The official CBC Twitter. Bringing you the best of Canada.”

Well now… THAT I can agree with!

      1. Leave aside the unwatchable TV show.
At least 24 CBC employees were involved in making the youtube post and they obviously don’t even check to make sure it’s working right.

      2. “Yup, even the crew and the producers aren’t watching.”

I checked it out on IMDB. Sorry, way too much in-your-face ‘diversity’ to even give it a watch.

(although it was amusing to read all those reviews where people were wondering why none of the cast of this supposed multi-generational Nova Scotia family actually had a Nova Scotia accent)

  4. shocking, sad, hilarious, unsurprising and offensive all at the same time.
congrats CBCBC you did something no other broadcaster has.

was my uncle. rich hubbie owned a cottage somewhere georgian bay area. only time visiting there 60 yrs ago. thinks to self he must make a lot of money to basically have 2 houses.

my aunt Marge was therefore the snot of the family who still found it necessary to cheat my mother out of a fur coat everyone knew *their* aunt intended. certainly not Marge already had everything she wanted.
l remember my brother coming home from going to foresy’s place attempting to get the coat which had been seized upon the owner’s death aunt whatshername.

    ixnay. nyet. possession is 9/10ths etc rules . . . .

  5. Seriously? You mean NONE of the Big Screen TV’s in any teepee or lodgehouse are tuned in to the CBC!?

    1. LOL

No, they are all soberly watching the Aboriginal Peoples’ Television Network (APTN) /sarc

  6. $1.38 billion of direct subsidy from the government.
32.3 million T1 filed with the government.
    So $44.73 per tax filer.

Put a selection box on the bottom of each T1:
    Choose:
    – Subsidize the CBC for $45
    – Reduce government debt by $45
    – Get a tax cut of $45

    see what the people choose.

    1. Good one, JD. The CBC would be at zero within a day. You missed one unpleasant possibility: lots of people might demand tax money transferred into other equally absurd things (like condoms in men’s washrooms, or whatever.) Never underestimate the spread of the DEI poison into everything.

  7. Way back, oh 20 years maybe, the CBC went on strike. I stopped watching and listening. Does it still exist?
