  1. ‘Pre-clear’ vacations? Nope. No, they don’t. They do, however, issue $100 fines after the fact along with a sternly worded letter.

  2. Looking for honesty within Dummy’s circle is foolish.
The Turd’s whole life is a scripted lie.
    He shouldn’t be Prime Minister.
    He shouldn’t be anything FFS.
But he has proven that Democracy must end.
The majority of the electorate are as illiterate as cave-dwellers and are clearly smooth-brained livestock.

  3. that’s not what the “ethics” commissioner said…

but it doesn’t matter, since the fine is only $100, instead of what would be reasonable, like 200% of the received benefit for a first offence and doubling each time thereafter…

  4. Gifts to members of parliament, such as free use of property, are specifically included under the Conflict of Interest Act. From the Ethics Commissioner’s website:
“Public office holders, Members of the House of Commons and their family members may be offered, by a variety of donors and in a range of situations, gifts that may include:
    […]
    – the use of property or facilities at a reduced rate or no cost
    […]
Public office holders and Members must consider the rules in the Conflict of Interest Act and the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons before they or their family members accept any gifts.

Both regimes prohibit regulatees and their family members from accepting any gift that might reasonably be seen to have been given to influence the regulatees, with certain exceptions. They also set out disclosure and public declaration requirements for accepted gifts.”

  5. The ethics commissioner himself hasn’t said anything about this. His office confirmed they don’t pre clear vacations.

    The Bong lied. Again.
