The fact that around 40% of the population routinely lied to the Covid Cops or ignored public health orders should not be seen as “alarming”. It should rather be viewed as a hopeful sign that a decent portion of the population still has some concern for individual rights and will do what they can to thwart governments that are bent on destroying civil liberties.

An alarming nationwide survey led by University of Utah health scientists has revealed that four of 10 Americans admit they weren’t truthful about contracting COVID-19 or complying with the public health precautions during the height of the global pandemic.

  3. Lying cannot be in my reality. I have a red line and I will not cross it – for whatever reason. Guess I don’t have the qualifications to run for any office either. Interesting times…bringing out the best and worst of people.

      1. That’s not what I meant. In a situation like that…”silence is golden”. Like I said, it brings out the worst in people sometimes. In my case, it might be the other way around…my neighbour would probably turn me in. I hope our country never gets to that place…

  5. Covid.. When farting became more socially acceptable than sneezing or blowing your nose.. I was never dishonest, just ignorant.. No PCR tests means I have nothing to say.. Got tired a few times, grandma is still kicking.. Its all rather boring..

    The biggest panic at work is when healthy people were getting a week off with pay for sticking a Q-Tip up their nose.. Balloons and streamers as they ran out of the building with a stern look on their face.. Management started figuring based on this game show metric just who was infecting their building and forced them to wear the mask of shame for weeks afterwards when they came back.. Lord of the Flies shit.. I kid you not..

  6. I’m not alarmed by this study. Why would anyone be alarmed? Why would anyone tell the truth to the gov’t post covid? (or pre covid?)

    In the USA, it’s illegal to lie to the FBI, this week it was made public that the FBI had offered $1 million for a foreign citizen to lie in order to make a case against President Donald J. Trump, while the FBI knew it wasn’t at all true.

    At each step in the past 7 years of Zoolander of the #Libranos being PM of Canada, when he is asked a plain and simple question about anything a NORMAL person would find plainly obvious, he sidesteps the issue, and all the thinking people can see from a distance that the PM is bullshitting everyone as he grovels for his non answer.

    The gov’t lies about everything every step of the way, and they’re so messed up they think we are under some sort of honor system and wanting to tell them the truth about anything.

    They’re actually on acid.

  10. I always said no to all the questions that were asked in the time of covid. I was never exposed to it, how did I know , you could’nt pay me to get tested. It was none of some strangers business what my health records were as that is supposed to be private between me and my doctor. Try asking a stranger if they have aids or any other disease of that type and see how that turns out. Anyone that answered those questions other than no was a fool or worse.

  11. What is “alarming” is that the 60% did not lie. Although probably a good portion of them lied, and then in the survey lied again. However, the motivation for lying probably has little to do with principles and a lot with fear and self preservation. Still, a small victory. The less people trust the state, the better.

  13. Nothing unexpected here.
    All the public faces of the NIH, especially Fauci lied. The public just followed their example. And who is the biggest liar of all? The Big Guy. He was arrested for participating in civil right marches; mined coal; drove an 18 wheeler; finished at the head of his class with 3 degrees; came under fire in the Middle East; was raised in a Puerto Rican enclave; never spoke to Hunter about his business dealings; so many lies they are incalculable.

    It is amazing the study did not detect more deception.

Since the man made Coronavirus was loosed on the world I have had one overriding worry about it – that it would so totally destroy the credibility of our public health system – on both sides of the border – that when a serious pandemic does arrive, something like Ebola, many people will initially ignore the warnings. A “Little Boy Who Cried Wolf” story with a high body count. Now, looking at the policies of deliberate shortages of food and fuel being foisted on us, I wonder if destroying the credibility of public health professionals was a bug, or a feature.

  18. Seems low to me. I’d hope it’s be 80% among Americans. In Canada it’d be 10% if that. The government could tell people here that it’s best for the country if they killed themselves and there’d be lineups around the block waiting for their turn.
