Bernier’s talk of ‘tyranny’ echoes far right militia group’s slogan, say experts

People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier has been using a phrase in speeches and in tweets similar to one used by members of a far-right militia group — some of whom participated in the storming of the Capitol Building in Washington earlier this year.

Experts who monitor online extremism say Bernier’s repeated use of the phrase — “When tyranny becomes law, revolution becomes our duty” — could be interpreted by members of some far-right extremist groups like the Three Percenters as an endorsement.

It’s a popular quote from Thomas Jefferson but our moral and intellectual betters have other notions.

    Northern capitalists supported emancipation because they wanted cheap black labour to drive down the wages of northern workingmen.

    We might be surprised by max’s final tally.
    For those who have not voted for years may support a real opposition to our Uni-Party.
    And who answers polls?

  25. From the link above, The PPC has 21% of the vote in Alberta. Very impressive. Given the PPC surge, one should expect some elected PPC MPs in the House of Commons.

    1. The 21 % is not the measure of support in Alberta or any where else, it is the increase of support that Max has compared to his 2019 numbers. The actual poll numbers are not any where near 21 %, that number only indicates the increase over 2019,

    When we need a conservative government, he throws a tantrum and gives us a defeat, on a plate.

    Mad Max will not win a single seat outside of his own riding.
