So yesterday, the Toronto Star ran with a story that’s heating up the Liberal blog world. Many of the usual wing-nuts are down right offended that Giambrone has been “let out” in this manner. Phaw, more proof of the “…a women scorned.” adage.
Naturally, and as expected, the most balanced assessment comes from Calgary Grit. He makes fun of the whole schmozzle. The expected result has now been confirmed. What I wonder though, is where were those wing-nuts when Bernier was being dragged through the muck for his own sex-scandal? Oh yeah, calling for an election, or something, maybe a facebook group.
I think both of these men are tools though not for sex with beautiful women. They deserve my disrespect because they scoffed at the public trust that had been granted them.

If we are lucky he gets tossed as TTC chair, but I think he should still run for his council seat, the people should decide his fate there.

Time will tell if Jammie has learned anything. I fear the lesson they are taking away is one about multiple partners, which wasnt the point. It is a lesson in authenticity, and not trying to be something you arent.

It doesnt matter what his relationships were, other than they were different than he portrayed. He tried to give off the impression of a young settled couple (progresisve because they werent married but still committed)
It was the betrayal of the image, constructed for political purposes, that did him in. If he had left his “partner” out of it then he would never have had a problem because it wouldnt have mattered. Then he lied…on a number of levels that just showed him to be willing to create false images of himself that had no basis, none at all, in reality. Thats what people object to, because it means you cannot trust this guy on anything that isnt based in an objective and verifiable fact. In essence he cannot lead, no matter how smart, how well meaning, how “progressive” he is.
To protect ourselves as a society people like that need to be thoroughly punished, by shame, disgrace and otherwise. That doesnt make him irredeemable, but the lesson must be clear that there are consequences to playing the public for a fool so blatantly. It does lead to other things. This is why it was a good thing Edwards was caught, not because he had an affair, but the manner of it and the lying that he engaged in afterwards. It cuts to judgement, trustworthiness etc.
