  1. Jonathan Kay: B.C. NDP succumbs to the leftist battle over identity politics

“progressive politicians now find themselves pushed into extreme and unpopular positions by ideologues within their own ranks: Canada is a genocide state; the police are all thugs in uniform; everyone’s a racist, even if they don’t admit it (especially if they don’t admit it); masculinity and white skin are toxic; a person’s intersectional worth can be tabulated by reference to ancestry and pronouns.”

    No kidding.

      1. Yes indeed, however, this is an attempted power grab by Commie John Horgan. His reasons for calling the election are pure horseshit nonsense. Not only has he broken BC election laws, but more meaningful to the leftists, he broke the contract between the Greentards and his Commies, to NOT call an election. Of course, as a lying hypocrite, Horgan invented a reason to justify to himself.
The last election left the Commies with the second most seats. There are 7 Dipper MLAs not running this time round. Very ODD for a governing party going for re-election.
Horgan has been personally riding high in the polls, but his craven grab for power is obvious to all.
Having said that, we have no choice here really, between the Commies, the “BC” Liberals, who are very much like traditional Liberals, the old coalition is strained, the lunatic Greentards, and somewhere, conservatives at the fringe.
Being in the burbs in Victoria, I may strategically vote Greentard, as a protest, then get drunk. The hope is to punish the Commies. Libs and Cons have no chance here at all in greater Victoria, so why not push the Greentards in the way of the Commies.
No matter which party, Commies, Greentards, or Libs, we’re so fcked in BC

        1. The BC Liberals are just as corrupt as the BC NDP… which pack of gangsters to choose from, hmmmmm…. choosing another Trudeau lackey in Wilkenson was a big mistake for the BC Liberals just like choosing Trudeau/ Cretchin ball licker, Kristy Klark. A vote for the BC Liberals is just another vote for Juthtin Turdhole and the CCP. I can’t figure out whether British Columbia is a colony of Queerbek or China, or is it both… either way BC is a Globalist gangster nightmare. Hopefully there will be a BC Wexit Party to vote for. Not that it would change anything, but it would be nice to actually vote for something meaningful for a change. BC is lost, corrupt to the tits.

          1. Here in the Thompson Okanagan, there are no NDP reps yet. You would think that Horgan would have prepared better.
Not that I would vote for that stupid party. No dog in this race in fact, as usual.

          2. This is a reply to Stevie below you: grew up in SE BC and my father’s saying was that Canada ended at the Rockies and BC ended at Hope (edited to the Okanagan after the SoCreds gained power). He was wrong on the east side – should have been the Lakehead – but right about the attitude of both Victoria and Ottawa towards his neck of the woods: tax the heck out of the resource industries and hand the minimum back in services.

    1. Great article at legal insurrection blaming RBG for all the supremes problems..comments are great!

  2. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/editorials/princetons-cheap-empty-virtue-signaling-may-prove-very-expensive

Princeton University has gotten itself into a bit of a bind as its President, Christopher Eisgruber has written that “racism and the damage it does to people of color persist at Princeton.” He further asserted that “racist assumptions” are “embedded in structures of the University itself.”
“Fortunately, the U.S. Education Department is taking a more rigorous view of his comments. Eisgruber’s admission that he runs a racist university puts his school’s federal funding in jeopardy” by violating The Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Eisgruber can admit he was just mindlessly virtue-signalling and risk the wrath of his social justice crowd. “His other option is to risk going down with the woke ship. Yes, he can maintain that Princeton is a hotbed of systemic institutional racism, but that position could potentially cost the school billions in federal funding.
Until now, virtue-signaling was so cheap and easy.”

    1. The current version of the Conservative party has more in common with the Royal Canadian Air Farce, with emphasis on the last word.

    2. I like it. The CPC is smart to change the logo from the Harper one. New era etc. Not a huge fan of O’Toole, but he is doing a few OK things, and many bad (Paris). Anyone is better than Trudeau, although I prefer Wexit, if you will also take BC.

      1. “I prefer Wexit, if you will also take BC.”

We’d love all of BC except for the lower Fraser Valley and the Island. Communists thick as fleas on a dog’s back.

      2. If O’Toole doesn’t pretend to honour the Paris Accord, he’ll be nailed to the cross by the MSM. Better to pay lip service to the treaty and just ignore it later.

    1. Canada is already there, a communist dictatorship at the federal and provincial level. We ar5e the most ignorant dumb people on the planet who have no concept of individual freedom. Freaking fools of the first order.

      1. That’s pretty understandable when you recall that the poster-child of individual freedoms, resistance to government policies and “no you won’t either, I HAVE MY RIGHTS!!!” is our southern neighbour, the U.S. And every Canadian since post-WW2 has been raised on a platform of genial but polite contempt for those tobacco-chawin’ gun-totin’ rednecks and thank-goodness-we’re-Canadians-not-yankees-ism. Little Potato likely owes a good 20% of his voters to his constant bad-mouthing Uncle Sam (and Trump), and he’s very very far from the only Canadian politician who’s played that game.

Like global warming alarmists, the younger they’re taught, the more unswayably dogmatic they’ll be for the rest of their lives; and our elementary schools have long pumped anti-Americanism and don’t-be-like-THEM-obey-civic-authorities into our kiddies. I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

  3. Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2016 had a devastating retort to the dying words of Ruth Bader Ginsburg of 2020…

Asked if the Senate had an obligation to assess Judge Garland’s qualifications, her answer was immediate.
“That’s their job,” she said. “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the president stops being president in his last year.”

    https://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/11/us/politics/ruth-bader-ginsburg-no-fan-of-donald-trump-critiques-latest-term.html

    1. I don’t think many people actually believe Ginsberg made that dying wish.
Although she was strongly liberal, she did understand the role of the SC and the roll of the President. She would have known that in the history of the SC, there has been 29 previous occasions where a SC seat became vacant in the last year of a presidents term. She also would have known that of those 29 vacancies, 29 nominees were put forward. In every case, in the Supreme Courts history, where a vacancies opened up in the last year of a presidents term,,, a nominees was put forward. She would have also known that of those 29 cases, there were 19 occasions where the President and the Senate Majority were of the same party and 17 out of the 19 occasions, 17 Justices were confirmed.
But do you know who wouldn’t likely have know this,,, would have been Ginsberg’s granddaughter!

Ginsberg was to intelligent and too educated not to know these facts, the granddaughter actually makes Ginsberg sound like a doofus.

    2. Chris: you have given the ultimate answer to refute the MSM narrative that the Republicans didn’t want a new SCOTUS candidate at the end of Obama’s term and are now hypocrits.

  4. Will Justin Trudeau call an election tonight in his address after the throne speech?

I think Justin would like to have Liberal majorities on Parliamentary committees so that he can shut down corruption investigations.

    1. Yup, plausible. He polls well and is copying Hogan in BC. He can get a majority down east, without the west. Personally, I will punish both of them, but unfortunately, this may work, as he can avoid being voted on a non-confidence motion on the throne speech.

  5. Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau sure loves dictatorships, and so does the Liberal Party’s Globe and Mail. After publishing a two page spread praising China, the Globe reports today that Angry Adolf has been trying to improve relations with North Korea.

      1. So true .. As an Anglophone westerner with not too bad French, I was repeatedly denied full-time French language training to facilitate my career advancement in Ottawa. In the early days of a bilingual public service, training was very easy to obtain and the level of fluency required was far less stringent than it is now.

Most supervisory and managerial were reclassified from B (working French) to C (fluent French) and this move ostensibly clipped the wings of many up-and-coming people. As a result, most of us left to find other opportunities, as it is hard to become fluent after age 40.

As a result, the language of work gradually shifted to French in many departments, and most senior bureaucrats are now Francophone. Jobs for life for Quebecers who live in Gatineau and Ottawa.

        1. “Bilingualism” the bigoted social engineering scheme designed to benefit one group of people, fwench talkers from Queerbek, to the detriment of everyone else. Institutional bigotry used to destroy a historically English speaking institution.

  6. Russia! Russia! Russia! CNN warns us this morning that Putin is directly supervising attacks against Dementia Joe, and Trump is helping him. Russia! Russia!

  7. Some early morning astronomy.

It’s nearly 6 AM local time. Mars is in the SW sky, about 3 hand widths above the local horizon and it’s the brightest object. I can see a bright red disk in my spotting scope but the instrument doesn’t have much more resolution beyond that. I’ll probably have to set up my reflector, but that’s a pain in the proverbial.

In addition, the Pleiades are almost due south, roughly a hand width higher than Mars and there’s a faint aurora to the north of the city.

  8. Listen well to speech from the throne today. It will pass with the support of the Dippers, Trudeau will have no trouble tossing out big bucks for social programs and using Covid to the hilt.

    1. Of course: our favourite champaigne socialist – he of the two Rolexes and seriously bespoke suits – is desperate to keep his seat and the accompanying emoluments as long as possible.

  9. CBC News’s Aaron Wherry, one of the agency’s top political commentators, opines on what the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau should say in his speech following the Rt. Hon. Julie Payette’s reading of the throne speech. Wherry lists the cutting issues facing his beloved government beyond the Wuhan virus pandemic: “Climate change, inequality, systemic racism, the lack of affordable day care,….”. Nowhere in Wherry’s list of priorities is there room for economic growth or job creation, or debt and deficits — not where the Ceeb reporter is sitting in Ottawa with his six-figure salary and fully-indexed pension. And he states Trudeau’s daily appearances “reassured the public”:
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-throne-speech-tv-address-1.5734904

Flash back last year. Wherry, with his fully CBC salary, typed out a pro-Justin Trudeau doorstopper “Promise and Peril: Justin Trudeau in Power”. The pre-election book was so pro-Liberal, the Rt. Hon. one gave the shoeshine boy eight hours of one-on-one interview time. Ezra Levant’s pre-election book, by contrast, was a tad negative, which earned Levant an interview by two RCMP officers, quizzing the Albertan on why he advertised his book using lawn signs during the election. Our even-handed justice system at work.

No telling if today’s Wherry piece will influence Trudeau’s address.

  10. Apart from endless Ahhs Umms and Ohs,we will hear how the budget will balance itself and the Ecological Stylings of Gang Green will create millions of jobs,if we can just believe..
That the new Carbon tax is not a tax and that the old Carbon Tax has worked miracles, look how much colder and depopulated Western Canada has become.
    A definite success.
If Kenny does not respond with an announcement of Referendum on Leaving Confederation,he may as well resign.
When control of this country is in the hands of a highschool political science class and the nearest alternatives are no different..why prolong its agony.?
65% of Canadians who vote, support State Control.
Freedom and protecting the citizen from State Theft are not on the Eastern Citizens radar.

    1. There is a silver lining…… if you want to see it that way.

The point at which he runs out of money to load into that money bazzoka is quickly approaching if the usual Bay Street/ex liberal government warnings are to be taken credibly.

He runs out of money and the lenders put the screws to him, he is left with cuts or tax increases that he has to do and not (as his father was able to preserving his much loved but fictional legacy) leaving it to his successor.

      I’ll call it Turner’s revenge.

  11. British Columbia’s top doctor stated that she is receiving death threats because she is a woman. Yeah, that must be it.

    1. Is she sure she isn’t being abused because she is complicit in bringing in a Communist/Fascist dictatorship?

    2. The corrupt Media out here in Queerbek/China colony BC are constantly referring to Henry as, “doctor”… just like the NAZI’s referring to their chief propagandist as, “Dr. Goebbels”… I guess the corrupt Media out here believe the Governments creeping authoritarianism will be accepted more readily by the sheeple if they constantly refer to the chief propogandist of this authoritarian Government as a “doctor”… hey it worked on the Krauts. Trust me… people in BC are politically and historically illiterate… like Turdholeland it is essentially a far left one party State suffocating under the Cloward Piven strategy of mass unfettered migration and immigration… Take a drive down Hastings st. if you want to see the real British Columbia… heartbreaking and tragic to say the least. More people have died from overdosing on Chinese Fentynol in BC than have died from the China Virus. I wonder what authoritarian plans Doctor Bonnie Goebbels has to stop this China led Fetynol assault on British Columbians… oh yeah… nothing. Why is it OK for a China led epidemic of drug overdoses in the LOwer Mainland to continue without any strategy or plan to stop it, but the China Virus leads to more and more authoritarian measures.
