  1. …sweet little lies

““Those who rely on social media for news are less likely to get the facts right about the coronavirus and politics and more likely to hear some unproven claims,” read the analysis.”

it’s “social media” that busted them all

  2. L-Low stock evaluations meant easy targets for buying control by nefarious sources.

Falling revenue meant easy targets for selling out their soul for ad dollars by nefarious sources to nefarious sources for nefarious sources. (big pharma, M.B. C.C.P. et al)

Hiring Social Justice Warriors over the last -3 decades meant reaching a level of credibility among the public similar to Soviet era newspapers. Marxism is as Marxism does.

  3. A newspaper for news? Does that still happen? I still get one of the Irving owned rags that only gets its feed for the Washington Post and other liberal propaganda voices to start fires in the fireplace and at the camp. Also handy to put on the floor when painting and still the best to make paper-mache. If I had a bird I would let it poop on it. But to actually count on it for information… what nonsense is that!

    1. Come on, Irving, a company that made their money the old fashioned way and went to Bermuda to avoid being raped by the Canadian government? That Irving? I have a great deal of respect for someone who screwed the freaking Canadian socialist government out of every damn dime they could have. Freaking trough licking Canadians.

  4. There is no news in Izvestia and no truth in Pravda. It just took the west a few more years to catch up.

    1. It goes better with all the words in English. “There is no news in truth and no truth in news.” My grade 10 geography teacher, who had visited Russia in 1961 gave me that gem in 63. Only if I remember correctly, Pravda and Tass were the Russian titles he used.

  5. 3%…that high, eh?

With papers like The Toronto Red Star, The Washington Compost, The New York Slimes and The Atlanta Urinal and Constipation is there any wonder that people are ditching them for places like SDA and RebelNews.

How they stay afloat is still a mystery to me.

  6. If they re-learn the difference between opinion and fact they would likely experience a renaissance. Instead, they double-down on subjective truth and that there’s no such thing as an objective fact. Bye-bye.

    1. C_Miner there is a definite difference between opinion and fact. Opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one and they contain the same stuff. Facts are quite different.

      1. Preaching to the choir OWG. I don’t expect that the print news sources will realize it in time to save themselves.

        1. Oh, they know. Why do you think they end up at the lender of last resort, in the end…..GOV.
Six Hundred Million buys the “opinion” you want. Those “newspapers” are given away for free. Filing taxes next April?

    2. They all engage in advocacy journalism…..the goal of journalism is not to accurately report the news, but to try to shape history. They view “good journalism” as giving the reader the “appropriate” context (and exclude any information which contradicts) by which the “correct” opinions could be formed.

  7. The only paper I bother with anymore is the local community paper. Partly for local coupons and partly because we have a wood stove that need to be re-lit from time to time.

    1. Same here Edward, we don’t even have to buy newspapers for that, just wait a day or so grab the ones they send back, usually a big stack of them, they’ll let you have, the headline of the front page is what’s ripped off.
The local paper isn’t enough to do a winter here.

  8. Sadly … people get 97% of their political news from the likes of “Apple News” … which sends me 100% leftist biased political stories in pop ups whenever I am using their Safari browser.

So we had some kind of “Hearing” with the high tech executives yesterday? And …. yep. Nothing. The big tech titans will continue to silence conservative thoughts, words, deeds, videos, etc.

    1. Kenji, stupid people will never ever be educated to the reality that makes a civil productive life possible. The guys at the top know how stupid the average person is. See a George Carlin bit for complete understanding. I am sure you that of which I speak.

    1. Yup. SDA and follow the links. I come here first and if it’s a busy day, I Don’t have time to go anywhere else.

  9. My guess is the 3% are large bird lovers like my parents. The local paper has local news and the state paper has a good comic section. They can buy and have the papers delivered cheaper than buying cage liner for their parrot cages.

  10. I used to get my news from Little Green Footballs. Then he sold out to leftists and the site is worthless. Then I got my news from Drudge and then he sold out. I would like to see Kate get stinking rich some day too, but I’ll miss this site a lot. Meantime it’s her and I have been finding some pretty good stuff on Epoch Times. The Chicom hate them so that likely means they’re pretty good.

    1. SDA, Ace of Spades HQ and PJ Media are my main on line sources of information. You still have to tiptoe through the tulips but you stand a better chance of being well informed.

  11. ” . . . more likely to hear some unproven claims”

Look, I know it’s preposterous, but I really don’t see the harm in hearing the mere claim that the Earth moves. As rational people we probably just all get a good chuckle out of it.

  12. Interesting.

So James doesn’t like a few, minor number of journalists in Fox and in the Australian newspapers not toeing his line on catastrophic anthropogenic climate change (converted to ‘climate disruption’ when the concept was obviously a straight up lie).

Apparently there is still some journalistic freedom at News.

  13. The theme of mainstream media news … “Wear a mask, smart people wear masks,” said a guy with no mask sitting across from two other people with no masks.

“Curtail your lifestyle to save the planet,” he added, after discussing his fabulous two-week holiday in Polynesia.

“Accept everyone as your equal,” said the three white people on the set, and the obligatory Asian woman, “you’re a racist if you don’t.”

“Right wing extremism is on the rise,” added the left wing extremists who had just signed long-term contracts for their good work.

“The Trump administration was wrong again today,” they informed us, entirely based on their own opinion and not on any factual analysis. “They once again disseminated fake news discredited by experts,” they intoned with wide-eyed sincerity and no apparent recognition of irony.

  14. How many of you recall ”World Weekly News?”

Printed in black and white, it was a North American favorite on magazine racks near the checkout counters at Safeway, Loblaws, etc. I love the example where Hillary Clinton has allegedly adopted an alien baby. With Bill Clinton for a husband, I have no problem believing the story.

  15. I routinely e-mail 2 “reporters” at my regional leftist rag, the Philadelphia Inquirer. The one reporter would sometimes engage, but I’m pretty sure now my emails go straight into their spam folders anymore. They don’t even care that nobody buys their stupid paper anymore, they will remain committed to their leftist agenda no matter how precipitous the drop in circulation is.

  16. And yet I see so many quotes here out of The Star, Postmedia and the Globe and Mail.

Clearly the dinosaurs are you people who still read them and by doing so assign value to them same with all your stupid references to CBC, Global and CTV. You insist On watching dinosaur media that no one else is and getting outraged by material that no one is watching. Hilarious.
