  1. The draconian security law that Beijing forced upon Hong Kong last week contains an article making it illegal for anyone in the world to promote democratic reform for Hong Kong.

L- You might not be interested in the Chinese Communist Party, but they are interested in you, where ever you live on the planet. Simply by such intimidation, they can control what you say, write or even think.

Kidnapping, concentration camps, assassinations, Zoom, TikTok, Hua-Wei. Global social media titans surrender their user base to the C.C.P. in exchange for “access” to a huge billion plus consumer market, also. The C.C.P.s file on you may already be larger than that of your own gov’t.’s data file ? Don’t worry, be happy… or else, a “struggle session awaits”.

In the Cold War with the U.S.S.R ‘s KGB there were the counter-espionage agencies of the Free World, MI6(James Bond), CIA (too many to mention), RCMP -Security (before being made a political arm of the Justin Trudeau regime and C.I.S.I.S. eerily quiet, too), Australia …, N.Z. ? iffy with a hard-line Marxist Prime Minister…

Does the concept of the Free World vs. international Communism (tyranny) have purchase, a meaning among Western populations, today?

Such populations, so indoctrinated, so ideologically possessed, so as to lose confidence in, even to hate their own Civilization; including the institutions that have allowed us to survive, to thrive and to illuminate human potential as no other in history.

    1. Did no one notice when he refered to one of his Canadian friends taken hostage by the government.

  2. Draconian laws and opposing democratic reform?
As opposed to Western wage/education/credit debt slavery, rampant consumerism, lying propaganda mass media, electronic tracking, permits for everything, corporate ownership of the government, destruction of the family unit, illusion of free choice, etc. Yeah, China is bad.

    1. To get a clearer view, do 5 years in China then 5 years in the USA and report back with some sharp observations on where you want to live……

      1. I assume you’re predicting some kind of American dystopia. Maybe, but even then I’d sooner die on my feet than live on my knees, as the saying goes. Make your choice and enjoy it, because it would be the last choice you’d ever get to make.
Although perhaps you’d find that less confusing.

        1. ?
I’m opining that if ‘ol jojo wants to understand which country and system he and the rest of the world will choose in a heartbeat it’s the USA, with all it’s faults.

  3. ” … The C.C.P.s file on you may already be larger than that of your own gov’t.’s data file ? Don’t worry, be happy… …”

True. And you can’t get Canadians concerned about the absence of property rights, their kangaroo HRC courts, or the curtailment of talk and thought – so there’s zero chance they’ll have any worries about revealing their SINs or sins to the Chicomms.

  4. It’s amazing how being broke and homeless even for a little while, widens young peoples perspective to strive for more.

I know myself leaving a comfortable middle class upbringing very early, to live poor to the point of becoming semi-nomadic and semi-homeless at a very young age. It sharpened my values and appreciation for money & career beyond materialism.

Even today as considered “relatively successful” I consider money as nothing but a means to safety, security and privacy. The more money, the more of each can be achieved. Material things are simply a byproduct of excess once safety, security & privacy necessities are met. Today’s society generally only sees and aspires for the Material things, hence the runaway personal debt and the near suicidal stresses that accompany it.

      1. Hey, no worries, different perspectives and personal narratives is what social platforms should be about. Cheers

  5. ” … Today’s society generally only sees and aspires for the Material things,…”

Not too sure about “only”. I figure attention must be giving material things a run for the money. It seems that they just can’t get enough attention.

Look at ME on facebook, Instagram, youtube, selfies, etc etc.

Just ask Zuckerburg and the Chicomms how valuable all these attention whores are.

  6. As John said, he made the decision to move to a communist country. What did he expect. I do not care that he had to run, that the two Georges or the two Xaviers or the two whomever who decided being business partners with the Chinese govt was a good idea.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. F××ked around, and found out.

I have the same level of sympathy for this guy and his family, as I do for the people who want to vote for Bernie “honeymooned in the USSR” Sanders. They are all living in exactly the situation, neighborhoods, amout of fear that they deserve.

    1. He’s on the journey of life like everyone else. He didn’t ask for sympathy, rather he’s making his own way. Like everyone, a helping hand from others is appreciated.

  7. In a democracy the government doesn’t make your life better, but it can certainly make it worse.
The Chicoms have made life better for millions of Chinese because of western democracies.
The Chicoms will continue to make life better for Chinese at the expense of the world until western democracies realize that is their endgame.
You can’t become Chinese the way you can become Canadian or American.
The stupidity of westerners cannot be measured.

Our prosperity, handed down to us by our ancestors, ruined us.

    1. Our prosperity, handed down to us by our ancestors, ruined us.
Prosperity has never ruined anyone but ruin will befall ‘us’ if we fail to teach the leaders of the future how and why prosperity happens in a nation.

  9. Re: the guy in the second link. I hope he got his wife out before posting that video. Otherwise, dipshit.

  10. I have a friend who emigrated from China. He used to talk about how great Canada was and how glad he was to get out. He went back to China to visit his father and to accompany this elderly man for a visit to Canada. Chinese authorities would not let the old man go and ever since he got back my friend says only positive things about China and smiles and does this weird little bow like he’s ducking if you bring up anything about China. China is a wonderful place, he says with a weird smile and duck. I have no idea what they did to him but that more than anything else convinced me this is an evil regime.

  11. China is patient, but petulant these days, with time on their side – TikTok – to steal every bit of our technology they can.

Like all collectivist societies they will implode and turn on themselves, which has happened recently and often in China.

  12. A the daughter and wife of an Air Canada pilot went to China. The mother and daughter decided to go the Tienanmen Square. It as packed and in the few minutes the duo were in the square the mother was repeated asked if she would sell her blonde daughter.
