  1. To think that my father was able to complete a tour of duty as an RAF bomber command pilot in WW2 to free us of this evil makes me sick. Words fail me.

    1. The last verse of In Flanders Field speaks about our duty to those who died.

“Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
      In Flanders fields.”
      — John McCrae

    2. I been saying that for decades chris. It is not just the riots, it is the entire circumstance we find ourselves in, politically, morally, financially. We have allowed socialist corruption to invade our minds and the whoowho flu lockdown and the riots in America are the culmination of a concerted effort to change both our countries and our values. Tens of thousands of Americans and Canadians died for “this”?

    3. chris c

Mine spent 4 years as a slave labourer in Germany, He and a few million Europeans….I guess that’s “something to look forward to”.

The similarities over the past little while are striking…particularly up here in the National Socialist DEMOCRATIC Republic of Kanuckistan. Hell we even have our very own Gestapo. The luggage Carriers of Roxham Rd. Justins Praetorian Guard…only thing missing is a darker uniform.

      1. +++ steakman. I would do double plus ++ but it is too freaking Orwellian.

  2. I can only imagine chasing the German socialists out of Europe only to come home to Saskatchewan to find out they had been voted in here

    1. Yes, see my earlier comment.

Russia and China had revolutions, so people got dragged along, like it or not.

      Germany voted it in.

    2. WWII Germany re-lived!!

It’s worse than that. It’s more like the Deutsche Demokratische Republik (i. e., the German Democratic Republic, otherwise known as East Germany).

There were snitches all over the place. I’ve heard stories about family members turning one another in to the Staatssicherheitsdienst (better known by its nickname, the Stasi). The Lutheran church, often heralded as an unofficial resistance, was riddled with Stasi informers, including the clergy.

    3. CRA’s always had a snitch line; that’s how they catch a lot of tax cheats. Usually, the informant is tired of hearing how “smart” the neighbour is to keep reported income low enough to get all the benefits going while living much higher on the hog than the honest neighbours. Jealous spouses are also a good source.

Generally speaking, a tax cheat (or CERB, etc. cheat) won’t get caught if he keeps his mouth shut and doesn’t have too extravagant a lifestyle. However, all the various giveaway programs are matched to either SIN or BN (business number) so the feds do have a way to check on the veracity of the claim.

However, all these programs (with the possible exception of the $300/500 to seniors and certain loan programs) are taxable income to the recipient. There are going to be howls of anguish next March/April when all those who gleefully accepted “free” money realize they are going to be taxed on same.

  3. These past 6 nights, and the role of Antifa, reminds me of a Jordan Peterson quote, riffing off of Karl Marx:
“If religion was the opiate of the masses, then Communism was the methamphetamine.”

      1. Pretty much on the mend. Check out the new website he co-founded, Thinkspot.com.

  4. U.S. and China Will Likely Go to War In the Next 30 Years – James Fanell
    Zooming In with Simone Gao

James Fanell, Former intelligence chief of the U.S. pacific fleet challenges the conventional wisdom that the U.S. military is unsurpassed by any force on this planet. While acknowledging that the Chinese military has strategic vulnerabilities, he warns that the U.S. might go to war with China over Taiwan in the next 30 years not adequately prepared and not confident to win. What needs to be done and is the current administration addressing these challenges? My interview with Fanell at a critical time when America becomes increasingly wary about China’s global ambition.

L- Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, The Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, the entire Western Pacific Rim, including freedom of the 7 seas, is at risk, under the militant Imperialism of the 21st Century C.C.P. . 70 years of Pax Americana is under threat from the C.C.P. . “May you live in interesting times !”

    1. Larry, a military is only as effective as the men who are able to fight. Our current experiment in military bureaucracy has created a force of snowflakes. You can be very sure that the U S military is infected with the same malaise. I am sure that with over 300 million people the US could probably find an adequate number of fighting men but Canada, not so much.

  5. Those are the morons that write public and health policy, must be Ford’s fault too.
Sorry both articles are from CBC.

Hospitals failed to flag 700 positive COVID-19 tests to Ontario’s public health units
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/covid-19-ontario-hospitals-missed-telling-public-health-confirmed-cases-1.5593572?fbclid=IwAR0yfs3cfC-1BqIv_5AabP5X5OPi5snVPMnQIOgyuy1E31sWrQFYHZRmhWE

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/covid-19-coronavirus-ontario-june-1-employment-act-1.5592900

      1. It is always amusing to watch a subhuman like you go randomly rabid towards its betters.

    1. Tests are meaningless. The false positive rate is too high and the CDC has said that antibody tests are 50% wrong. Let’s say I am not positive today, just what does that mean? Will I catch the virus tomorrow, the next day, the day after that? Let’s shut the whole freaking country down until we all die. Everybody involved in this crap is both dangerous and stupid. From Ford to Twadels, they are all stupid.

    1. Interesting article. I’ve often wondered (really) about how long each extinction “event” took. If any were instantaneous, say from an asteroid strike, then wouldn’t we find herds of fossils all in the same layer? I would hardly call a 10 million year period an “event”.

      1. As I understand it, all of these extinctions seemed to happen around the geological time of the coal deposits. These were created between the time trees started producing lignin and mushrooms developing the ability to digest lignin, causing carbon to be locked up in coal. During this time CO2 levels dropped to a fraction of their previous level, too low for many of the existing plants to survive. I would not be surprised if animals died out because the plants they depended on died out from a lack of CO2.

        1. That’s very close to where the earth would be in about 10-50 million years if humans hadn’t come along. When CO2 gets down to about 160 PPM then treeline becomes sea level and almost all land based life will die. The higher medium density in the ocean means that life could continue there for a time (tens or hundreds of millions of yeas), until the accumulated sea bottom sediments accounted for too much of the (formerly) available carbon, and the big extinction totally wipes out Mother Gaia.

  6. What is the difference between fighting for your country and fighting for your countrymen?

    1. When you are fighting for your country you don’t go around destroying the property of your countrymen. You don’t loot, beat, or kill, your own countrymen.

  7. ‘The Butterfly Effect.’

In the 1990 movie ”Havana,” Robert Redford, playing the role of Jack Weil, an American gambler with a knack for math, falls in love with the wife of a Castro supporter who is jailed by the Baptista Government for his role in the revolt. At one point in the story, Jack turns to his lover (played by Lena Olin) and says, “a butterfly can flutter its wings over a flower in China and cause a hurricane in the Caribbean.” The butterfly effect is a concept that emphasizes that minute events can somehow set off much larger occurrences. As for the movie Havana, it unfolds in the last few days of the Cuban Revolution of 1958.

Up until the advent if Covid-19, I dismissed the belief that a butterfly hovering over a flower can somehow set off a hurricane halfway around the world. Now I know differently. If a single bat in China can contract a virus that causes tens of thousands of deaths in North America, I now believe that concept to be true. We can now trace the chain of events that led to the multiple deaths. And those deaths do seem to fall under the butterfly effect.

What I am struggling with however is the death of Floyd George in Minneapolis, Mn. One single event that drove tens of thousands of Americans to the brink of insanity. While I dismiss criminal acts such as looting valuables from stores as insane behaviour, I’m convinced that causing the deaths of innocent people while burning and destroying private and public property (in an attempt to obtain revenge for the death of one single person) falls under psychopathic behaviour. And anyone with enough intelligence to shuffle a deck of cards knows that the death of one single black person today is totally unrelated to what happened in the 50’s and 60’s, and well beyond that.

The real crime is the destruction of years of political change and struggle for those black Americans who fought (some who died) to obtain equal rights to the rest of America. After the burning and the destruction of property, the riots, the deaths, the insane behaviour, we’re now back at square one. We’re back in Montgomery Alabama, 1965.

As for the butterfly effect, it now seems to work in reverse. The hurricane in the Caribbean can somehow send the butterfly back to hovering over that one single flower in China.

    1. Cops kill more white men than black. Why do you struggle? I tend to think that you are just another race-baiter, like Mad Maxine or Sharpton. Fuck off.

    2. P D, “tens of thousands of deaths in North America”? As of yesterday the world wide death toll was 372k, far less than the seasonal flu, and that number is likely too high as the US has been lying about the deaths. The riots are political as is the flu and more than blacks are participating. It is a communist movement by any other name.

      1. 108,059 Covid deaths in the USA as of June 01.

Is that not tens of thousands??

        1. The number is false. You can’t possibly believe that America has about one third of all deaths? No matter how many times the truth is shown to people they still have the right to disbelieve. I am giving up trying to inform. It is pointless. 372,000 is not a pandemic. By the way 8,000 people die in America every day from all causes. Look it up. 153,000 people die everyday worldwide from all causes, look it up.

    3. Well said. It’s almost like there’s an eye of Sauron that focuses on a single instant and instance, and pours power and attention into it to spread evil.

And it doesn’t matter that blacks are the primary victims of the thugs, or if twice as many black police officers die, the evil message will be sent that all police are evil, no police wrong-doing is ever prosecuted, and that all approached (for good or bad) by the police are virtuous.

Conservatism is based on the idea that what we have built is built on what came before, and is better than it was. Change the rules at your peril, because you’ll likely make things worse. Progressivism believes that society, and individuals, can be perfected if people with the right viewpoint or approach are setting the rules. Paving the road to hell…

    1. I remember taking my daughter along with a friend and her son to the islands in 1995. Lovely day, but Chris Selley is absolutely right – you line up in a sweaty queue to board the ferry (sometimes you have to wait for the second one because the line is so long), then it is 20 minutes on the ferry over (no cars allowed) and finally the island with all of its magic.

But towards the end of our life in Toronto, I no longer was willing to endure the line-ups and quite frankly, my fellow passengers. As well, my daughter was now in Grade 6 and was “too cool” to be seen in public with her mother.

  8. Yesterday, there was a problem with the narrative – Today June 02/20 MSM unanimously – “White Supremacists responsible for infiltrating ANTIFA and starting riots”.

The US and Canada are at the civil war, whether people recognize it or not. It’s mostly a war of words at this stage with hot flashes here and there, but war it is.

    1. Gee, they’re talkin’ about white folk like the Germans talked about Jews in the 1930s. Govern yourself accordingly.

      1. “They” better be careful about that because American white folks aren’t like unarmed German Jews.

        1. I had to google the word “Moby” in an urban dictionary to find out what it means.

  9. And now your “progressive” news for today. Toronto Sun reports that city workers have installed human pick up and scoop poop signs in Toronto parks.

    1. And walking our dog Jack today, just now, two city workers are mowing the grass of a small park nearby, signifying that the parks are finally open.

  10. While the Liberal Party’s bought and paid for media rant about Hitler Trump all day, Great Leader Kim Sung Trudeau is busy. This morning once again he is on the phone to leaders of shit hole nations drumming up support for that UN Security Seat. He then once again stands before his kneeling, drooling, worshipping media to throw money out the door and further explain that Canadians are racist bastards.

    1. So if Canadians are so racist, then his fathers legacy of imposing multiculturalism has failed.
Said none of the Ottawa press gallery ever.

    2. The Liberal claim that Canadians are racist is seriously offensive. Trudeau’s statement is condescending and does not promote tolerance. It promotes a destructive victim mentality among racial minorities. Rex Murphy takes issue with this today in the National Post. I would like to see the Conservative leadership candidates challenging the nasty Liberal slur of accusing ordinary Canadians of being racist. It creates divisions and fosters identity politics which destroy our social fabric.

    1. Trudeau and his corporate media say that we should not commemorate the Tiananmen square deaths. Doing so upsets the Xi regime. It’s a no-no.

  11. CNN is full of praise for Dementia Joe’s speech this morning. Greatest speech in American history. Remember if you vote for Trump you ain’t black.

      1. Michael, voting is overrated. I have been voting longer than over half the population has been alive. Just look at where we are. If this is what voting has given us I think it is time to start over. I now think George Carlin’s take on voting is pretty much on the money.

        1. Point well taken. Maybe our countries and consequently our bureaucracies are a bit too large, trying to do too much to (oops, I mean FOR, heh) us. A little Balkanization, judiciously applied of course, might be just the thing.

  12. Blacklock reports that Climate Barbie says that twenty thousand public works projects that the PBO can’t find any trace of, are legit.

  13. Happy Pride month, not a day or a week, but the whole month. I call that some kind of discrimination. It’s definitely over the top, but who am I to complain.
The flag will be hoisted on the buildings of governments at all levels to add a little colour to our lives, we can turn our thoughts to sex and all it’s variables, a break from the Chinese Corona virus at least.

  14. Blackie just gave his parliament on the cottage doorsteps update to his adoring media. He started off with another rant that Canadians are racist bastards, then explained how wonderful he is doing regarding the China virus, and finally explained how global warming scams will be a major effort on his part in the coming days. Most of the questions as usual were from Quebec journalists who asked about the NHL and how evil Israel is.

    1. John, the left-wing journalists also demanded that Trudeau condemn Trump for his opposition to urban rioting, and for Canadian reparations to blacks for slavery in the 1700s.

      1. So will indian tribes have to pay reparations for slavery as well. Will the UN go after muslim countries and China for practising slavery? Even the opening remarks in Blackie’s fake parliament today were that Canadians are racist bastards.

      2. What about the blacks who worked the African slave trade and captured and sold their rival clans. Are those fuckers paying up?

        1. And the Arab muslims who controlled the slave trade in Africa. Will they pay up? Well, no.

        2. What about the Muslim SOBs who kidnapped my Ukrainian ancestors into slavery? REPARATIONS NOW!

  15. The economics of America’s civil unrest
High consumption and low savings helped set the stage for the explosion of violence across America
    By SPENGLER
    JUNE 2, 2020

Thirty years ago the United States had twice as many workers in factories than in restaurants, hotels and other leisure and hospitality businesses. Over those 30 years the number of manufacturing workers fell by about half and leisure-and-hospitality employment doubled.  Then came Covid-19, and all the employment gains of the past 30 years evaporated in two months (these are April data, and the picture has worsened since then).

Minority workers in the United States benefited from an employment boom during the Trump Administration, and black unemployment fell to just 5.8%, the lowest level in American history, thanks in large measure to the availability of low-skilled service industry jobs. These jobs disappeared the fastest and are least likely to come back in the foreseeable future, as Americans save more of their income and avoid crowded public places like restaurants.

  16. Not really breaking news (a couple of days old), but:

LORI LOUGHLIN’S DAUGHTER OPPOSES WHITE PRIVILEGE!!! Yes. Actress Lori Loughlin pleaded guilty to fraud, and will spend two months in the slammer for paying of Stanford, for getting her daughter into Stanford on an athletic scholarship. Her daughter, who makes lotsa dough as a “social media advertiser” — and was thrown out of Stanford given her mom’s arrest — articulates her brave stand, asking whites to use their white privilege against white privilege to fight racism:
    https://www.msn.com/en-ca/entertainment/other/lori-loughlins-daughter-use-white-privilege-to-stop-racism/ar-BB14TkEB

    1. Who cares, it’s just reverse affirmative action only someone actually gets paid. When I was a kid the rich kids went to university the poor not so much. The occasional exceptional kid went on a scholarship and had to perform at the highest level.

  17. Found this story among the burning wreckage of US cities in the news. Remember the WU Flu? I know…old news and your granny already croaked in a filthy Old Folks home populated by turd wurl TFW’s to care for them: https://www.capnews.ca/news/preventable-tragedy-covid19-long-term-care-homes-canada-public-health
Some stats to consider: Kan-eh-duh is the 11th highest COVID cases DEATH TOLL in the world, but hey LOOK SQUIRREL!!!! American, Black lives matter more to media today. I mean what’s a few dead old folks, eh? Those cases occur in our two most populous Provinces, Quebec and Ontario, where anything important to these two Provinces are front and center every goddamned day in the friggin’ news, which media is asking for more cash to keep their doors open. I learned another thing today: Quebec has still to clean up it’s rivers of shit (h/t Nancy above) https://smartwatermagazine.com/news/smart-water-magazine/report-most-municipalities-quebec-still-contaminate-their-rivers
I couldn’t find any on Ontario, our 2nd Most Important Province, after Quebec.
And that pompous twit of an BLOC MP Missieu Roy points fingers at all the “dirty oil” which runs and lubricates Quebec industry, coming from Alllbeeeerrrrrrdah (we supply 40% of Kaibek, while the rest comes from Algerie, in black ass Africa). Racist!

  18. And now your Canadians are racist bastards story for today. So much to choose from. How about a muslim with a bag over her head explain in Blackie’s Toronto Star today, that Doug Ford is a racist bastard.

  19. Trudeau’s daily pop outs are well staged to make him look like he’s a one man band with the weight of the country on his shoulders.
The Chinese COVID-19 virus has given Trudeau the opportunity to play the role of dictator and he’s taking full advantage of it.

  20. The good Dr. Jean-Robert Ngola — the doctor who spread the Wuhan virus in Campbellton, NB after a trip to Quebec — is upset that his name was made public and that he is getting angry, racist emails:
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/campbellton-doctor-covid-19-1.5594667

The media here in NB had been saying that the locals were angry he has infected at least five people (one senior is in ICU). But after he is seen to be a vismin minority doctor, in these times, such anger will quickly go away. For sure.

    1. Visible minority or not, it seems he is being treated unfairly by the media and the health facility he worked for. They have a 14-day quarantine requirement for some people, but presumably there are Quebec nurses crossing the border each day with no quarantine requirement. He may not have even got the virus in Quebec. The rules around isolation are not totally rational.

  21. Columnist William Watson has been writing a weekly column for the Financial Post (currently part of the National Post) for 40 or so years. Until recently, he was a professor of economics at McGill University. After he retired, he increased the number of columns he produces for the Post. He has been a voice for fiscal responsibility for all of those 40 years, frequently debunking the hair-brained schemes emerging from Ottawa. To his credit, he has been blacklisted by the CBC.

In his latest column he criticizes the Dear Leader for shuttering Parliament:

“The U.K. is having an awful pandemic, with the highest death toll in Europe, much worse than ours. Yet, as it did through the Blitz of 1940, Parliament continues to meet and the government remains subject to probing criticism and debate.
It is cheering, isn’t it, that Canadian values persist at least somewhere in the world? ”

    https://business.financialpost.com/opinion/william-watson-when-the-liberals-talk-of-canadian-values-they-dont-mean-democracy

    1. OMJ, got to know William Watson when he taught in the summers at Queen’s U., when I was a grad student there. He is a kind, generous person, on top of being a good conservative writer. Played pick up badketball with him back then, which was difficult, since he is 6’7″.

  22. The Toronto mainstream media, while ignoring the Dear Leader’s central role in allowing the Wuhan Flu to enter an unprepared Canada, has turned on Doug Ford to blame for the deaths in many long-term care homes in Ontario. But the media will never mention the critical role that unions have played in protecting incompetent employees in these homes, up to and including protecting a serial killer:

“The Elizabeth Wettlaufer case warned us about the dire condition of our senior homes. But unions were too busy protecting their members”

    https://business.financialpost.com/legal-post/howard-levitt-the-elizabeth-wettlaufer-case-warned-us-about-the-dire-condition-of-our-senior-homes-but-unions-were-too-busy-protecting-their-members

  23. Blackie’s bought and paid for media continue to rant about Canadians being racist bastards. Their political shows tonight are concentrating on the issue with lots of Blackie’s cabinet ministers on, and of course Blackie’s lapdog leader of the NDP. Although in a slight variation Blackie’s CTV had David Frum on to explain that Trump is Hitler.

  24. Tonight Blackie’s CBC discussed with Black Lives member in Toronto that police forces in Canada should be defunded and the money spent on other things.

  25. Is this BECAUSE “HE CAN’T BREATHE?”

Check Justinian’s l-o-n-g pause, because there are no words.
What a job he does not answering a question, is it because he deemed it beneath him to do so? Was this planned?
This is an acting job if we ever saw one….
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau-trump-george-floyd-1.5594918

    HE CAN’T BREATHE, CAN’T BREATHE!
What hair! See him grit his teeth!

    He can’t breathe, can’t breathe………….
