Blog Notes

I appreciate that people here are looking for entertainment, but the noise to signal ratio in the comments is getting out of hand.

I want an end to the bickering sessions, please. It’s been a while since I clamped down on comments abusers, but I still have the skills and the software to do it.

And when I do, it will be fast, it will be brutal – and you will receive neither warning nor explanation.

Stay on topic. Don’t feed the trolls.

Thanks in advance.

  1. Got it. How about a couple of tips?

“Instead of just flattening the COVID-19 curve, can we ‘crush’ it?” Six steps penned by a “past president of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine”, https://www.livescience.com/can-covid-19-be-crushed.html

National Post recently left off AB and Sask from COVID stats articles, twice! A bit strange since “Alberta is second only to Australia in testing rate, according to the chief medical officer of health, with 64,183 tests”
    https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/alberta-reports-98-new-cases-of-covid-19-1.4884499

    1. National Post is a far cry from what they used to be. Again today they write an article about the 3M mask story and again it’s Blame America. But near the end of the article is this…

**Both Ontario and the federal government have signed agreements with Canadian companies to create a local supply of masks, but those plants are still retooling and are weeks away from producing the quantities needed.**

WEEKS away?? Is that not worthy of a question or two National Post? Why is that pertinent fact not a front page story? What makes it so difficult for our factories to re-tool compared to other countries?
Regarding the 3M issue, here’s a comment from the article…

**Here is what is fishy for me:
One of 3M shipments to Canada was bought out and redirected to US by one of the US citizens a week ago. We need some answers on the following questions:
Was that shipment a government contract?
Who paid for those masks? Was it funded by the government?
Who had the authority to allow the medical masks resale?
Should it be investigated as an act of corruption? (our corrupted government has the history)
When we answer those question we may understand US president logic in all that story. If US has information that the Canadian government is involved in this case of corruption than Trump’s reaction is understandable.**

There’s more to this story but ‘nothing more to see here’ as far as our Media is concerned.

      https://nationalpost.com/news/as-covid-19-depletes-stockpiles-3m-reaches-deal-to-supply-canada-with-face-masks-despite-u-s-restrictions

      1. Dig deeper. Me thinks there’s a Librano involved.
Why is the national stockpile GONE…..
Trump said on his Friday scrum spoke about what his administration inherited.
“The cupboards were BARE. We did our best to restock within our budgets. Even the ammunition was shockingly low.”
        (Not a direct quote)

      2. I heard that 3M was trying to start a bidding war between countries and Trump stepped on it with the Defense Procurement Act.
That’s why they went running to the media: “Waah! Waah! Orange Man is blocking exports to your countries!”, which of course was BS. They were just upset because their not-so-little profiteering scheme was thwarted.

      3. That New York blackmarketeer arrested with…”According to the statement, Feldheim also received a shipment from Canada on March 25 that contained approximately eight pallets of medical face masks”…CTV news?.
Has any of our gloriously incurious media followed up on this cute little story?
There has to be a paper trail,so how did this transaction go through after the so called declaration of pandemic?
And did they come from Ontario?
        Or Quebec?
Who is stealing /disposing of safely all the medical supplies that character was fencing?

      4. Boots

If this story has ‘legs’ as they say it could very well have some connection to the libranos. It sounds like something they are capable of.

It could be something like this kind of skulduggery that might sink a greedy government.

  2. The situation room in the White House mirrors SDAs blog comments.

Navarro’s comments set off a heated exchange about how the Trump administration and the president ought to talk about the malaria drug, which Fauci and other public health officials stress is unproven to combat COVID-19.

Fauci pushed back against Navarro, saying that there was only anecdotal evidence that hydroxychloroquine works against the coronavirus.

    https://www.axios.com/coronavirus-hydroxychloroquine-white-house-01306286-0bbc-4042-9bfe-890413c6220d.html

    Is that weird or what??
    Nope, its just human nature….

And. I will stop feeding the trolls

      1. Things you won’t see on CBC…
Laura Ingraham interviewed her tonight and she was specific when she credited Pres.Trump. His touting the drug stuck in her mind and apparently she told her Doctor about it. Good for her. TDS didn’t kill her but being a Black Female Democrat praising Trump might have her watching her back in the future.

    1. Fauci is one doctor. And I think he is a bit of an alarmist. He isn’t God. There are lots of other doctors who disagree with Fauci. The issue of hydroxychloroquine reminds me of the fight between Salk and Sabin regarding the polio vaccine. If Sabin had his way at the time, another 6 years or so of kids would have died or been badly crippled by polio.

    1. Well that’s the kind of nonsense you would expect from Goldberg. As people get older, they usually get wiser. Goldberg is obviously an exception.

      1. “Even stupid people get old”

Maybe the dreadlocks are choking off oxygen to the pea brain.

  3. Kate, you may appreciate that, as you say, some are here for “entertainment”, but others are here for information. Excuse my paucity of irony, but filter out the toxic trolls and continue with info, please. I mean, really, UnMe and its ilk are so boring, darling. Filter and report. Peace

  4. Noise to signal ratio:
If at all possible limiting the NUMBER of comments from a single commenter on a thread would be nice. One commenter OFTEN racks up 10 or more on a thread and the idiot bait-takers can easily double or triple that.

And my gawd look at the number of off topic comments on this thread which containes a plea for on topic comments.

  5. “And when I do, it will be fast, it will be brutal – and you will receive neither warning nor explanation. ”

That was a warning and I appreciate it.

  6. From what I’ve seen, people here seem to be the most average of normies, denying biological evolution (like libtards) and praising Trump (like conservatards). Pure Christianity.

Also, this forum looks incredibly disgusting with its mobile design. Yes, I love when there are centimetres between the name and e-mail fields (which themselves are centimetres-thick). And how I adore this plain white background! And how it all just makes my eyes bleed and squint.

I love the smell of burnt phones in the morning.

    1. That you, NME?

A bigot is one who knows one thing about someone, and on that basis assumes they know everything about them. Racial bigots are the best known type.

You’re the second most common type, and anti-religion (not religious, as you’ve specified which one you think acts “improperly”).

Piss off, bigot. Kate’s house, her rules, but stop peeing on the carpet just because you weren’t raised right.

You’re the second most common type, an anti-religion (not religious, as you’ve specified which one religion you think acts “improperly”) bigot. You didn’t ask what we think about something unrelated, you assumed.

  7. Yarrhagh

    Arrgh

  8. I hope Kate doesn’t wack me for pointing out from time to time the obvious fact that Trump is a blithering idiot.

  9. Thank you Kate. Dumb insult arguments back and forth are sooooo boring.

Also, a long, substantive post is fine, but use the flicking return button after 3-4 sentences. And try to edit before posting. Please don’t use too many supposedly funny fake words, either.

Don’t you get it yet? If you post is full of unedited misspellings and has not short paragraphs, NO ONE reads it! Go on twitter or something, as we come to site for thoughtful, informative content.
