  2. Well, when “Beyond Meat” paddies cost 2.5x as much as lean ground beef, why is anyone surprised?

    Like battery-powered cars, I mean, “EVs”, it’s all a money-making scheme to fleece wealthier people of their money.

    1. Wealthy people tend NOT to eat synthetic fatty goo created to replicate the naturally fatty goodness of a REAL burger. When I am feeling “rich” … I go to my local meat market which has 3-kinds of ground beef, ground bison, ground pork, and ground lamb. I custom mix a selection of these for my own “signature” burger. My advice ? Sell, sell, sell

    1. When I want a hamburger, I go to a place that doesn’t sell that Frankenmeat. I don’t even want to eat a burger that’s been cooked on the same grill as that toxic waste.

      I had a Peter’s hamburger today. As far as I know, they don’t sell that crap.

    The experts are all fixated on the corona virus as the root of the market sell off.
    However, Bernie Sanders is steadily rising in the polls and looks to secure the democrat nomination.
    But the possibility of Sanders becoming POTUS couldn’t possibly cause market jitters …. nope …. not one bit.

      1. Largely because the steer was not using the abundant ammunition the turd had handed us I figured the election would be close. The result was no surprise to me. I see no reason to believe that the movers and shakers of the CPC are not beholden to the Lawrencean elete.
        Trump, on the other hand was a huge surprise to me.

      1. Pennsylvania is gone with his ban on fracking. The unions in Penn have stated if Bernie is the nominee, they will tell members to vote Trump or stay home

    4. The vast, vast, majority of stock market investments are owned by Pension Funds. And a vast amount of that investment … by PUBLIC pension funds. These funds have already become politicized … witness their “divestment from fossil fuels” … “divestment from Israel” … etc. If you don’t believe an economic pandemic … or deliberate sinking of the Stock Market to HURT Trump … is within the control of a very few number of Pension Fund Boards of Directors … well … I disagree. Yes, this is pandemic COVID-19 PANIC selling. But there are other motives at foot as well … profit-taking, and anticipation of the market peak … a market overbought.

      The early sellers will be early buyers when the depth of this crater is plumbed. As for me? I don’t know shit (about market forces) and am wary of “catching the falling knives” at present.

  7. Why don’t producers sue Beyond Meat for mislabelling it’s product as meat?
    Egg producers were successful in stopping a firm from labelling its garbage as mayonnaise.

    On another note. This crap is being peddled hard as Pope Algore I and Bill Gates are the two major investors.

  12. The Calgary print edition of the Financial Post ran a top page header story claiming the profits for the Moonbat food producer were beautiful. Claiming 64% and 71% increases.
    Somehow, it has disappeared from the on-line and e-paper versions.
