    1. “dserts” is not a word…if you’re going to point out misuse of a word, you should check your text.

      1. Years from now linguists will be studying not just the dropping of suffixes and the progression of sounds from hard to easy in the mouth, but also the impact of fat fingers and spell check. Emoji will accomplish universal pigeon in a way that will make esperanto pale. What will be the “high” language? perhaps it will be dserts.

        1. Before making fun of someone’s obvious typo, you should know a simplified speech is pidgin not pigeon. Not unless pigeons speak pidgin.

    2. Merriam-Webster gives the low-down on that…. (and yes, I had to look it up).

“Despite its pronunciation, just deserts, with one s, is the proper spelling for the phrase meaning “the punishment that one deserves.” The phrase is even older than dessert, using an older noun version of desert meaning “deserved reward or punishment,” which is spelled like the arid land, but pronounced like the sweet treat.”

    3. As Marc in Calgary pointed out, ‘deserts’ is an archaic form of the word ‘deserve’, which is pretty much only still used in this one phrase. ‘Just deserts’ is the correct spelling in this context.

  1. Fabulous. 100% Fabulous.
Good on the Brits…and a hot poker in the eye of that corrupted BS org aka, the EU and by association, the UN. This is a major set back to the Globalists and their machinations. May they ALL rot in their champagne & caviar.

Britain joining Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic with an upraised Middle Finger to Brussels and their Dictatorial BS. Who else will join them I wonder..?

    Not Kanada for certain…

  2. You’d think that having the upper echelon of your party (and the public service) being caught and exposed in an effort to USURP THE RULE OF LAW would result in a similar repudiation but not in Canada. The CPC brass better be making some calls to the UK’s Conservative strategists today (hint, anyone that isn’t doing so is deliberately steering the party towards failure).

  3. I’m skeptical. Lately when the will of the people is expressed but in a way disapproved of by the left, the scheming begins. A fabricated scandal, a lengthy legal challenge or some other barrier to the non-progressive wishes of the voters will be thrown in the path. The left does not tolerate losing and you will not have things your way!

    1. Agree, completely.

I believe Britain’s leftist entrenched media, schools, entertainment industry and government bureaucracies are not going away anytime soon. The ‘left’ has repeatedly proven these past years that they have no strategy in their playbook but to double-down on their lies and anti-Conservative hate-mongering.

A great victory, but the war to save Brits’ hard-earned freedoms from tyranny is far from over.

      1. Yep, that is the way the “left-o-crats” typically operate. They find the concept of real freedom ‘scary’; hence the mob behaviour.

This however doesn’t mean that Nigel Farage and crew, along with the Conservatives haven’t earned a well deserved period of elation.

  4. Everyone needs to develop a Saul Alinsky filter. Know the rules for radicals. Apply your personal filter. Listen to how other people have applied their filters. Then apply the Saul Alinsky filter.

Is one side forcing the other to live up to their own rules?

    Is one side having fun?

Is one side attacking the people instead of the institutions?

    Is one side manufacturing crises?

Is one side letting crises go to waste?

  5. It looks like the Communists have been doing a fine job of indoctrinating the youth in England. It does not look good to be an aging white man. It looks like the economy back east is going to start running out of other peoples’ (Albertans) money, and sooner than the brilliant savant Butts had planned. He might not be as brilliant as Juthtin might have thought. Killing the golden goose is NEVER a good strategy, but it was easy to accomplish for Dumb and Dummer. Now with Scheer stepping down, chances are good for a spring/early summer election, to get Juthtin’s majority back from Moronto and parts east.

    1. Oldtimer , as one real old timer to another, be prepared to do that which you never thought you would have to do. Your fellow man is your enemy. I will take what I need if I am forced to. I will take it from those who created the circumstances if possible, if not, everyone else is fair game. You vote for it you pay for it, eventually. Let’s hope we die before we have to.

      1. I think we can avoid it coming to that, but Albertans are going to have to vote to leave Canada.

      2. OWG… you are right on so many levels I too am an older guy and pray I never have to make the decisions you allude too. I am a firm believer in helping immediate family and keeping them safe and protected. I also believe in being prepared and investing in three precious metals lead, brass and copper….. Steve O

  6. As in the Trudeau post Clark era, Canada is set again to lose out on GB and USA economic growth.

Instead we’ll chase climate change justice at the expense of the poor, until we’re all poorer.

Why? Because too many voters are oblivious to the harm of big government, indeed they think more of it is better not worse.

IOW they haven’t been beaten down enough by scandal and taxation, so feel gay marriage or who pays for Scheer’s schooling is more important than productivity crashing, our crushing taxation and regulation, paralysis by analysis and regional confiscation.

But the main issue is there is no right of centre voice in Canada from leadership, academia or media, what hasn’t been cowed.

Conservatives are too busy cannibalizing over non-issues like “real” conservatism, while the media, in concert with the Marxists cum progressives, give statists a free ride and the moronic CPC tries to be Liberal lite instead of bold leaders.

Bloody idiots the whole bunch. Once more an election was for the taking and cannibal conservatives chose to eat their own.

Others get it. In the US they get it with Trump. In GB they get it with their cross between Trump and Margaret Thatcher.

We don’t get it because we have it too easy, so our government leaves us vulnerable to economic downturn and credit crises.

Both coming soon to a country named Canada.

    1. Bloody idiots the whole bunch. Once more an election was for the taking and cannibal conservatives chose to eat their own.

Wrong. Once again a weak conservative leader chose to follow – the CBC and the dinner-party champagne socialist set. That is the long tradition – Joe Who? The Underwear Guy. Robarts & Davies in Ontario, who brought in the welfare state there. Mulroney who wasn’t at all weak, just an establishment Liberal stand-in. Remember, the Washington Generals are allowed to win occassionally.

    2. shammy, yer not the brightest boy in the room are you. Even when you are the only boy in the room

  7. I am just loving this. All the Brits I have been following are cock-a-hoop. As an Aussie news guy said yesterday, maybe only Canada remains in the controlled orbit of multi-national institutions.

It’s time wwe rose up and rejoined the Anglosphere. All ike-minded people are there.

  8. Rule Britannia, once more. At least over her own destiny.
I cannot envision any country really wanting to cede their own sovereignty to a bunch of unelected old aristocrats in Brussels. France and Germany excepted, they believe they are running the show, and dream of another Holy Roman Empire. The problem is, Charlemagne fought against the Saracens, not welcome them into the country with open arms.
