  1. QUESTION:

    Dear Mr. Armstrong,
Thank you for your blog. It has taken the veil off my eyes.

As I understand, not only is the hypothesis that mankind can alter the Earth’s climate nonsense, it is also detrimental to the world’s economy. It misplaces important resources, and anti-CO2 regulations hinder growth and the betterment of mankind.

In Norway, where I write from, there is pure hysteria. Children are being brainwashed into fear. People are talking about “Norway’s climate policies” not being good enough, and such nonsense.
Although I understand that this helps governments grow stronger by allowing them to introduce new taxes and regulations, I also thought that the powers that be, the ones really calling the shots, prefer more economic growth and less regulation.

Why has not the climate hysteria been globally debunked yet? It wouldn’t take so long. Aren’t the financial and industrial powers that be powerful enough?

Or do they also benefit from the anthropogenic climate hysteria?

Could you please shed some light into this?

    Thank you.

    1. Norway owes much of its current standard of living and general prosperity to owning the biggest sovereign wealth fund in the world – based on the profits from North Sea oil.

I’ll bet all those Norwegians who rant about “climate change” are still quite happy to accept excellent social services and draw good pensions made possible by – ugh! – oil.

  2. Successive waves of pseudo-environmental hysteria have helped replace Christianity with green theology throughout the western world over the last 50 years. Generations of increasingly urban people raised in fear of nuclear war have moved over into the fear of everything anthropogenic thanks in great part to a lazy, incurious media addicted to the hysteria and resulting induced sales.

The institutional left, the dominant cultural entities comprised of media, education, entertainment, government, labour, and corporate governance have all conspired to seek rents from the public through the political class increasingly dispensing taxpayer’s money in a reinforcing loop beneficial to politicians and rent seekers on board with the narratives. Skeptics, including scientists, as well as anyone outside the tent of the institutional left, are vilified as heretics, censored, excommunicated, and figuratively burned at the stake. Governments are no longer secular but instead exhibit characteristics of (green) theocracy. Scientifically and economically illiterate initiatives are forced down the throats of citizen-serfs based solely on popular hysteria, all with the zeal of righteous church police (Monty Python’s farce became tragedy).

This isn’t a conspiracy theory but merely the world in which we live.

  3. Yeah but your ski poster is in Australia – it doesn’t count, because global warming is happening a lot faster here in Canada. Isn’t it? – they said it was…

I’ve never been able to understand that; the GWAlarmists howl to the moon that the Arctic is melting, soon it’ll be ice-free, and this PROOOOOOOOOOVES global warming is real and we’re all gonna’ die. But the Antarctic sets a new record for snow and ice cover every year, and it has done this every year we’ve measured it. Except for the Western Peninsula, which IS melting – possibly something to do with the rift fault and the 60+ active volcanoes under the ice, or could it be something else……? Indeed, I read on WUWT that they’ve found hollows in the snow at the South Pole that, on calm nights, the air in them gets colder than scientists thought theoretically possible on this planet.

    But… but… but… the Arctic and the Antarctic… they’re on the same planet, aren’t they? So confused…

    1. Since you are asking the first question in Canada, the answer is yes. Global warming is the worst on Earth wherever you are at, and it is up to you more than anyone else to do something about it.
The Arctic melting is climate. The Antarctica gaining more snow cover is just weather, and does not mean anything.

      1. True, but volcanoes are weather, not climate – unless they’re caused by global warming of course…

And Bruin, if it helps, I am indeed doing something about global warming – I’m satirizing the CR@P out of it! =D………….

  4. It’s quite evident that there are nowhere near enough Flagellants available to counter Climate Global Change Warming – therefore, as a public service, (not to mention the laughs, and the cash I plan to extort), I am hereby offering self whipping courses, (bring your own belt, cane or strap), and be prepared to volunteer as examples/instructors.

Lunch is not provided, nor are bandages.

  5. I hope it realy snows deep this winter right on those No Fracking,No Drilling Keep it in the Ground idiots i want them to get a real unpleasent surprise this winter that will shake them out of their Little Green Dreams

  6. There are a group of real scientists studying solar sun spots and cycle 25! One of those belongs to a Russian group with Professor Valentina Zharkova. The idea of a Maunder Minimum hitting us as early as 2020 is a possibility ! This would flush Anthropogenic Climate change down the drain! You really have to wonder about Elizabeth May and Catherine McKenna if they ever study and read anything about climate!!!?
