  1. …no it’s changed to cuss words and shock comedy…..lame and not funny
dumbed down by dumbed down comedians

    1. I have noticed that anything not rated G and targeted specifically at children, the script writers just have every character say “GD” every other word. And apparently, that is all the plot they can muster; it is the entirety of every story. So most movies, TV shows, even commercials, are just not worth watching.

There is no story, no character development, only everybody having sex with everybody, wall to wall boobs, and every other word being some kind of curse.

Children’s movies on the other hand, have actual story elements. Character development, plot development, unexpected twists…

    2. Well, you can’t even be a “shock comic” either these days. At any moment, you might just inadvertently offend the “demographic du jour” and – poof! – career over.

Nope. Comedy is indeed quite dead.

  2. The only joke that is “funny” is the leftist’s constant refrain… “I am soooo smart and they are soooo stupid ha ha ha”. Those are allowed. Those don’t get any bad press.

Oh, and man jokes, ie, whey cucumbers are better than men. Those never get bad press either. Okay, and some of those are funny too…

    1. …like this one:
Once there was a boy named Derkin,
Who was always jerkin’ his gherkin,
      His mother said, Derkin
      Stop jerkin’ your gherkin,
      Your gherkin’s fer ferkin,
      Not jerkin’.

    2. A woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle … is portrayed by Ellen Degenerates on every show. Unwatchable. Unfunny.

  3. Comedy shows changed to “cheer for your own opinions” shows when leftists took over.

  4. They’re morphing into the usual Glorious Army of the People attitudes. All for the cause, laughter is a bourgeois luxury, no sex with another comrade…..unless you’re of the same sex.

  5. It was … religion … for my HS 1st Period Library buddies … to sit on the cabinet heaters every morning and laugh about what Johnny Carson made us laugh about the night before. And I assure you it was NEVER a joke about Nixon being Hitler, and all conservatives being marched into ovens. When Letterman FIRST started … he too was amusing in a sarcastic, smarmy, way. But he rapidly devolved into a nasty, bitter, crazed, leftist sexual harasser.

Sadly, there are NO such thing as my HS 1st Period Library buddies. If such a thing exists today, the “buddies” sit next to each other and text message nasty photoshopped images of Trump eating a dik. Not funny. Not healthy. Not good for our society or culture in any way whatsoever

    1. I grew up in a similar culture, since about the age of 12 regularly staying up to the wee hours watching Carson, SNL and even Tom Snyder. Those were the glory days of late night TV for me, when later you awoke on the couch to an annoying droning and a test pattern on the screen.

My favorite Carson moment was during one of his Carnac the Magnificent routines where, I’m sure you remember, he used to hold a sealed envelope to his forehead, announce an answer, then open the envelope and read what the question was…..

      Answer: Siss Boom Bah!

Question: What sound does an exploding sheep make?

I remember it took quite awhile for both Ed and Johnny to compose themselves, after that.

After those glory years, I quickly noticed when the new breed of late night host showed up, that they heavily relied on mocking others as being their brand of funny. I found it immediately distasteful. Mainly for that reason, the entire late night genre lost me way back in the early 90’s, including SNL.

      1. do you remember the snyder episode he featured a disciple of ‘The Mighty Atom’?
I bought the biography. what an exceptionally remarkable man. I knew it was all true when the disciple
        did the sledge hammer stunt.
held it by the end of the handle and then slooooooowly lowered it, outstretched arms, onto his forehead or whatever.
then he drove a spike right thru a pc of wood with only a bit of cloth wrapped around the blunt end.

anyways, we can all thank the much touted eddie murphy of SNL with his actually racist early stuff,
mocking the black kid from ‘little rascals’.
then he shows up on the cover of rolling stone picking his nose. ya, THAT is when the switch officially started.

  6. “Steven Colbert is just Rachael Maddow with punch lines.”

Certainly made me smile. Observations like this are humorous because there is a core of truth beneath the absurdity.

    1. No question in my mind that the funniest humor usually has a basis in truth.

So when leftards groupthink themselves into a false truth that “Trump is evil”, it doesn’t surprise me in the least that they find Trump-bashing funny. There is an entire generation of ‘comedians’ currently hitching their wagons to the Trump-bashing party as a way to gain fame. As per Colbert, I found him to be absolutely unfunny right from the start. He sure has self-righteousness and smugness down pat, though.

    2. Colbert was funny during his time on The Daily Show and the first year or so of The Colbert Report. TCR was-at its start-great parody! Then it degenerated into lame self-appraisal.

  7. It’s often said that the devil has no sense of humour. Neither do agents of Satanic ideologies like Islam, communism and globalism.

The ability to laugh at yourself is the beginning of humility. The day a leftist learns to laugh at himself is usually the day he becomes a conservative.

Both, I dare say, correspond with old age. The problems of this world get harder to take seriously once you see the next one on the horizon. Nobody in heaven worries where his next meal will come from—and as for sex, well, the saints are like the angels. Animal urges are the burden of the denizens of this valley of tears, burdens I can’t wait to lay down.

  8. Comedy has joined the world of oxy(morons):

    Partisan comedy
Military music (though I like it fine)
    Military justice
    Jumbo Shrimp
    Democrat populists
    Uniting identists
    Open secret
    Belief as proof
    Clearly confused

  9. Best comedy going is Parliament Hill.

What a cast of cartoon characters: turdo la doo, Freeland, Sajjan, Hussen, climate Barbie, Liberal Steer Scheer, and last but not least, Jag Singh. I mean, you couldn’t dream up a bunch of putzes like this with all of Lewis Carroll’s opium.

A parade of stumbling *&^%$#g idiots who never cease to entertain with their ridiculous posing and meaningless script.

  10. “Devout Leftists are terrible people. They also have no sense of humour.”

And yet almost all the decent comedians are leftist with few exceptions, and a whole lot of bad comedians too. Conservatives with very few exceptions just aren’t funny or creative for that matter. I guess PragerU counts as funny because it’s a joke.

    1. Not true again UnMe – conservatives have a great sense of humour – for example , I laugh at you all the time !

    2. That’s because you live in a little fantasy bubble of delusions and identity politics.

Your pathetic hatred of Western First World comforts and conveniences is due to Conservative creativity. Otherwise aside from the “few exceptions” aka, conservative artists in the mainstream there are plenty that simply keep their conservative views to themselves for obvious reasons that only Hollywierd conservatives and Jews who lived through 1940 Germany understand fully.

  11. The best comedians are the ones who can write their own material, mimic well, be self deprecating and quick in delivery with ad libs. Best were the late George Carlin, the late Robin Williams and many more. A bonus would to be able to do all plus sing well, as does Jimmy Fallon. He is able to imitate everyone from Seinfeld and can sing like Sting or even, remarkably like a duo song team as Hall & Oates.

Best ones stay away from politics, unless you’re a great wit like Carlin.

  12. What was that post about leftists, politics and humour?
Made the point that they take their politics so seriously they shut out friends, family and all joy from their lives..might have been the Captain.

Humour is all around us,our own stupidity, weaknesses and follies are always waiting to leave us self mocked and bemused, but this can be overcome with huge doses of self righteousness, blind virtue posing and massive ignorance.

I believe comrade no name is here to give us a demonstration.
If the only comedians who can be permitted airplay are politically correct leftwing haters..then obviously the only comedians on air will be these same bitter humourless douchebags..

Every workplace has its onsite comedian, humour is all around us,even CBC plays the Justine Show endlessly and that other comedy..I think they call it The National is on daily.

The US has the Trump Derangement Show, best TV ratings in decades.
Pure entertainment, which liberal will self implode for our edification this evening.

The script writers guild is a wee bit bitter as this one writes itself around a one man show,Master Showman plays against Union of Ugly Actors.
Some of us still refer to these fools as politicians, from poly ticks of course.
Check out Redacted Tonight on RTV, they still manage some humour thro the agenda..it can be done.
