Trump Tax Returns!

MRC;

What Maddow and the fine folks over at MSNBC actually managed to do was get part of a copy of Trump’s 2005 tax return. Which was already 12 years old. And which the White House had already released.
And which the Wall Street Journal had already reported on – a year ago.

And @ggreenwaldThe moment people began realizing this wasn’t going to be devastating for Trump was when they speculated that Trump might be their source.

“Think about it.”

Almost everybody thought Trump would lose, including the president himself. His win last November surprised everybody. Vladimir Putin is a smart man, but he can’t see the future better than anyone else. Like the rest of us, he assumed Hillary Clinton would win.
So when his cyberagents hacked the Democratic National Committee and released what it found to WikiLeaks, Putin was attacking the presumed incoming president of the United States. He didn’t go after Clinton per se. Rather, he pre-emptively struck against the next White House.

Trump: Joint Address to Congress (bumped)

Morning bump: Full transcript here.
Live audience reaction.

Post speech survey says: “82% called the speech ‘Presidential’, including a majority of Democrats.” But the most surprising comments of the night came from CNN’s Van Jones;

Related:

I’m no longer a Democrat (it’s been many years now), and though on the rarest of occasions I worried I’d made a mistake, Tuesday night watching the shell-shocked faces of the Democrats on the floor of Congress while Donald Trump delivered his magnificent speech, I knew I had made no error. I even wondered what was going on in my head in those isolated moments I doubted myself.

Who’s Russian Whom?

Still, these things seem oddly familiar;

If Trump were the Manchurian candidate that people keep wanting to believe that he is, here are some of the things he’d be doing:
– Limiting fracking as much as he possibly could
– Blocking oil and gas pipelines
– Opening negotiations for major nuclear arms reductions
– Cutting U.S. military spending
– Trying to tamp down tensions with Russia’s ally Iran
That Trump is planning to do precisely the opposite of these things may or may not be good policy for the United States, but anybody who thinks this is a Russia appeasement policy has been drinking way too much joy juice.

Oh, Shiny Prime Minister!

…didn’t Canada just solve all of Trump’s problems? If humane treatment of immigrants is the goal, Canada is the right place. They have polite behavior, free healthcare, and lots of space. That’s a win-win-win.
Or am I missing something?
Canada also gives us a test case to compare to America’s plan. In five years we can check back and see how it turned out for them. If it worked, we can reassess. Until then we obviously need to wall-off Canada. But that’s another topic.
