Deconstructing Trudeau’s words and actions in DC

Trudeau says the middle class is ailing, that climate change needs to be dealt with now, that diversity is our strength – but are any of these claims, especially the way he means them true? Listen as Brian breaks them down.
Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace and now an independent scientist and environmentalist challenges the idea we need to be scared of carbon. Brian talks gun culture in Canada and cover the breaking news of Donald Trump’s rally being cancelled amid a riot.

It’s a damned socialist day

So I started my new talk radio show this week and invite you all to listen online or via podcast. Had trouble getting the first episode podcast up quickly but here is episode two. I explain why International Women’s Day is a socialist invention we should not pass on to our girls, speak to Conservative MP Blaine Calkins about shady Liberal fundraising tied to Justin’s trip to Washington and to an American journalist about the other disturbing comment Trudeau made to 60 Minutes.
Oh yeah, and I explain bathroom/urinal etiquette.

New radio show, one you might like

In case you have not heard I will be hosting a nightly talk radio show in Ottawa starting March 7th on Newstalk 580 CFRA. The show will air from 7pm to 10pm ET and will be available for live streaming and later listening via poddcast.
No, I’m not leaving The Rebel, just expanding the reach of what we do.
In the meantime I am filling in on another show as the station readjusts the schedule. Today, taking on Montreal’s bag ban and water bottle ban, plus a crazy NDP plan for gender equity in Parliament.

Yoga back at U of O with culturally appropriate teacher

Remember last fall when the University of Ottawa cancelled a yoga class citing cultural appropriation – meaning white teachers can’t downward dog.
Well now yoga is back, with a new teacher who wonders if she got the job due to her ethnic background.

She said she wonders if she was hired because she’s Indian. Shah says she grew up in Calgary and only visited India once. She was there for five months.

Liberals stonewall on refugees

Remember all those claims of openness and transparency from Justin Trudeau and the Liberals during the election campaign? Fuggedaboutit…
Under the Liberals the immigration department is now taking delays of nearly a year on access to information requests about Syrian refugees.

“Also, it is to be noted that, at this point of the process, the department is working to meet the mandate on Syrian Refugees set by the Prime Minister of Canada,” wrote Hélène Bertrand, senior ATIP administrator at Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Elections Canada, watchdog my a…..

I wish this sort of thing shocked me. It doesn’t.

Elections Canada offered a sole sourced contract worth nearly $1 million to the Assembly of First Nations to engage in voter outreach even as key members of the organization made highly partisan statements calling for the defeat of the Conservative government.

Read the whole thing here and then share it far and wide. You know the media party won’t touch this.
Elections Canada has a history of going after Conservatives and looking the other way with everyone else. Remember all the extensions they gave to Liberal leadership candidates? What about deciding not to go after left wing groups that violated third party spending limits? It never happened. They won’t act on this either. Unless they are forced to.

That doesn’t sound “badass” to me

Our newly minted defence minister and military and police veteran Harjit Sajjan gave an interview to CBC the other day suggesting the West should have dealt with ISIS diplomatically.
In the wake of Friday’s attacks in Paris this seems even more dubious than it did before. Here are some of the questions I ask in my latest column at The Rebel, give it a read and share it on social media if you agree.

The leaders of ISIS have declared the return of the caliphate and are working hard to bring that about. That means taking back lands throughout the Middle East, across North Africa and into Spain, France and other parts of Europe that the leaders of ISIS believe belong under their control with all submitting to their view of Islam.
I’d like to know how you deal diplomatically with an organization that holds these beliefs, that has used rape, slavery and genocide to achieve their goals.
How do you negotiate with people whose opening and closing positions are submit or die?

Took down the Queen, put her in a Queen museum

The supposedly non-partisan civil servants at the Department of Foreign Affairs are quickly undoing any changes brought in by the Conservatives and former Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird.
They want to make sure there is no trace of Conservatives, so much so that they even took down a portrait of the Queen that was in the lobby of the building.
The good folks at Global Affairs would rather walk into work looking at the brightly coloured painting of Alfred Pellan than the portrait of our head of state.
They are wrong and this decision needs to be reversed.
