  1. Larry the Cable Guy:

I have noticed a large number of people, implying with bad jokes and anecdotes, that Louisiana Cajuns ain’t smart. I would like to state for the record that I disagree with that assessment. Anybody who would build a city five feet below sea level, in a hurricane zone, and fill it with Democrats who can’t swim is a damn genius.”

  2. Hopefully some satellite photos make it into the public domain of this ever lengthening icebreaker daisychain.

  3. To paraphrase even more: “Look, we’re probably not actually ever going to show up when you call 911. Detroit is a very scary place and we prefer to stay indoors.”

  4. AGW is a T.H.R.E.A.T.
AGW/groups are not just a threat. AGW Kills.

“Future historians may point to this one ironic event as the trigger that finally ended the public fear of global warming. The Australasian Antarctic Expedition was stuck fast over Christmas and New Year in Antarctic sea ice. In summer. The ice beat back three ice-breakers.
How can this be? Isn’t global warming melting the ice and flooding the coast?”

  5. PeterJ, I want to say thank you for the link to srsrocco.
as a small investor who is right now losing money, the articles I found there give me hope some of my precious metal/mining stocks and mutual funds will someday go up in value instead of down as they have for the last 3 years.

  7. From pterj’s link:
“Andrew Peacock, an Australian doctor and photographer who was rescued from the Russian ship, said his fellow passengers had been frustrated by the news Friday that their journey home had been delayed by another potential rescue operation.
“My feeling, and those of others I believe, today is one of relief at finally having a concrete plan for how and when we can return to loved ones, family and friends,” Peacock said in an email from the Aurora.”
Now that the AGW parties are safe, they are happy to ignore the safety of their rescuers.

  8. Re: wallyj–pot story.
”Aida Hernandez, the mother of 2-year-old Evelyn, told the station she suspects her daughter may have eaten part of a pot cookie she found in the grass outside their apartment.”
