  1. The coal refurbishments should include giant hand statues giving the middle finger to Caliphate-Carbon-Carney and green theocracies everywhere.

  2. When I see the diametrically opposed view points, I can’t help thinking about the Corporate equivalence of Consumer Confidence. Consumer Confidence is an indicator on whether consumers feel comfortable enough with their personal finances to part with a portion of it to purchase goods. When luxury purchase escalate, it’s a sign that the economy is in good shape and individuals have excess capital to spend.

In a Corporate perspective the term is “Business Confidence.” This is measured in the Business Confidence Index (sometimes called the CEO index). The Business Confidence Index tracks the economic optimism and investment intentions. I’m sure you can see how this index plays into a situation where emotional pleas to stop the coal refurbishing from government are contrary to the Estavan conference. The fact that so many suppliers showed up for that conference despite the adamant denial in Regina sends a message….actually two messages probably. One is that they wish to proceed despite the opposition. And two, perhaps their liveliehood has taken such a throttling by government that they have no choice.

Regardless of the motivation. Businesses and corporations need stability to thrive on the long term. And, the adamant opposition to their liveliehood disallows that stability and optimistic outlook. I’m not sure that isn’t the goal of the Green Cult. If they can’t stop you legally, they imply that it will be done eventually, which discourages investment.

    Rant over….I feel better….but still annoyed. 🙂
