Dissension In The Ranks?

If you take a gander at the conversations on Twitter today, Trump’s apparent endorsement of the H1-B visa program in an interview with Laura Ingraham doesn’t seem to be going over so well. My earlier understanding was that there was going to be a $100,000 fee applied to those visas. Does anyone know what’s happening with that?

More Twitter opinions from Yahoo news.

“This is insane—we are going to lose the mid-terms so badly,” Anthony Sabatini, a vocal pro-Trump county commissioner in Florida with a large online following, wrote on Tuesday on X, where the president’s remarks quickly went viral.

  1. He didn’t explain this very well. He kept using the word talent when he meant training and experience.

When companies with complex manufacturijng facilities ofshore, agreed to move factories in the US they obviously need trained and experienced workers to get the transplanted facilities working properly.

They cannot just hire even very talented people and expect them to take over without experience in that particular technical operation from a standing start.

Unfortunately people don’t really understand the situation and conflate unlimited numbers of people walking over the southern border with allowing companies to bring in their staff from overseas to transplanted operations.

  2. He could easily turn around whatever dip in the polls he receives over this by simply doing something about all the spam calls seniors like my parents receive every day from India. And by “doing something” I mean just nuking every city, town, and village in India. Because the viciously racist abuse I hurl at these people just isn’t doing the trick.

  3. Wait! I was told that there was dissension in the conservative ranks because Bondi didn’t release the Epstein “Files” … whatever that means. How’s that conservative wipeout coming along? Epstein “Files”? Files?

    What a JOKE

    1. How did the Epstein files go from being a campaign issue to being a “hoax” in a matter of minutes? What information was on Pam Bondi’s desk that needed to disappear down the memory hole so quickly? Or are we to believe that (former) Prince Andrew was the only person ever to have sex with underage girls at Epstein’s resorts?

      1. “What information was on Pam Bondi’s desk that needed to disappear down the memory hole so quickly? ”

There was no such information. If there had been, you would never have heard about it.

      2. Top of the Daily Mail today! Leaked Epstein files! Trump-hater nutjob Michael Wolff emailed Jeffrey Epstein … repeatedly … about Trump. Ohhhhhhhhhhh Mommmaaaaaa … the “Files” … the. “Files” Trump-haters contacted Epstein

I didn’t VOTE for Trump to see a collection of compromised FBI notes about serial Trump-hating Phfaggotts say nasty things about Trump. Epstein “Files” PUHleeze.

      3. How did the Epstein files go from being a campaign issue to being a “hoax”?

How will the Epstein “Files” ever go from a nebulous collection of suspect (dubious) testimony … to actual PROOF of criminal activity with actual charges being filed by … “VICTIMS” (redacted)?

The Hoax is in the lack of any actionable offenses. Please make a note of it.

          1. Most of the “Files” were collected/generated by the FBI … as they are America’s National Law Enforcement Agency.

Are you suggesting the Epstein “Files” have nothing to do with sex crimes against underaged girls?

            Then what?

If he was an Israeli asset … are we going to reveal “materials, methods, and agents”? D’ya remember the dust up over Valerie Plame?

If he was running a blackmail scheme … will the victims/perpetrators be charged with something? Or Epstein charged with blackmail?

This is all so … distracting.

I prefer following the US Stock Market to this tabloid shit

          2. Kenji

Another US alphabet agency has THE Epstein files.

They were removed before law enforcement seized the contents of Epstein’s houses. You know for national security reasons.

  4. H1b Visas should be used ONLY for exceptional talents and skills. Period. It should NEVER be used to hire cheaper code writers who will work 16 hours a day, get paid for 8, and not complain.

For example … the (white) German young man I rode a chairlift with at Squaw Valley (don’t call it ‘Palisades’) … who came here to work at Apple because he is a camera optical specialist. When he explained to me what he does … my eyes glazed over as it was so amazingly technically and scientifically advanced. That kind of specialty makes sense. Yeah, he was trained at Leica

But WHO is watching and managing the H1b program? Who is keeping all these tech companies in check? Likely nobody. That needs fixing.

It appears as though the “conservative” alternative is to ELIMINATE the H1b program, and ELIMINATE the importation of unique, needed talent? That’s literally STUPID.

    1. The problem for the US is two fold:

      1. So many people take arts degrees, such that marketable talent in a manufacturing and technology world is a rarity in the US.

      2. In an era of rising costs for energy and materials, one area where costs can be reduced is to offshore labor, or hire cheaper foreign labor via H1-B. It’s about senior management’s bottom line, which is driven by US financial markets that measure business success on a quarterly basis. Executive bonuses depend on short term results.

        1. If you’re saying stop executive bonuses, I’d agree with you. They’ve reached an excessive level.

With Trump attempting to onshore lots of jobs, where are the skilled or semi-skilled workers going to come from?

Perhaps the military? Many military personnel have some skills and or trades training, and they certainly have the discipline to handle a job. The US has between 128 and 750 military bases overseas. Why not close most of them?

Has the Trump administration offered any incentives for training in trades, technology, science, or engineering? I honestly don’t know.
Note; incentives don’t have to be cash giveaways.

  5. The mid terms will be interesting, as they’ll essentially be a poll on the Trump presidency. The economy has shown some signs of weakening, although statistics have been delayed due to the government shutdown. If there’s a sharp downturn in the next year, Trump’s trade policies will be at least partially blamed, and Republican House members will be in for a rough ride.

  6. And speaking of Trump “dissension” and “campaign issues” … is this a good place to note that the Dow Jones industrials closed UP +326.86 points today to close at an ALL TIME HIGH of 48,254.82 points after all the other all time highs already recorded by Trump this year.

Perhaps THIS is the reason that the “dissension” of H1b Visas … and Epstein GARBAGE is being spewed out today?

Trump is an AMAZINGLY GREAT President! Super-President! And it’s driving the FAKE conservative RINO’s and Communist Democrats insane.

    1. The vast majority of voters don’t give a crap about the stock market.

They care about jobs, being able to afford groceries, having a safe, affordable place to live, with a little bit left over to enjoy some of life’s little pleasures.

      1. All but minimum wage workers have some form of a retirement system rooted in the US Stock Market. And if you don’t want to be a perpetual minimum wage worker … Learn to operate machine tools and or service robots.

        1. The people hurt by H1B visas (besides those who come here to work under them who are seriously hurt by their limitations) are highly skilled American and Canadian engineers. They are not a trivial population but many are already Democratic voters because they were indoctrinated in college.
