    1. Peer review?
      Roger Pielke jr. easily finds many problems with the paper, so if it was reviewed before publishing, it must have been by peers and fellow travelers of the authors, who can’t hope to be peers of Pielke.
      Attribution claims to promote belief that climate change is dangerous and costly is part of the game. Once enough judges have fallen for the ploy, the lawsuits against fossil fuel companies will start to bear fruit.

      1. Peer review is useless….prior to the politicization of science it had SOME veracity….since, however, it is PAL review and is worthless.

  4. Can they compare the 1930s fire data to current data to see which is “more fires”

    Also the phrase “forest management practices” doesn’t seem to appear in the propaganda piece.

  6. “It’s the same data set”. No wonder the two data sets match up perfectly when they are compared to each other. Who can we congratulate for this stunning research: working at the speed of science or peer review?

    ..And that’s before we mock them for using one variable (Climate change) to explain fire, when it’s obviously a multi variable, complex system.

  8. There’s been an awful lot of money spent on this global warming stuff, by now, trillions of dollars. All to try and stop the global temps increasing by what? 00.15% over a hundred years Don’t quote me, this number may not be correct I’m just guessing, buuuuutttt, that money has gone somewhere…. Gee, do ya think this might be part of a scam? I do recall early discussions around the late nineties about carbon credit pricing and how “lucrative” it might be…… Maybe even a carbon credit stock exchange. Now look where we are!

    Yes, those of us who are statisticians (no, we’re not all bad…) call it “start date bias”.

    And its easily seen, but as we’ve noticed, it doesn’t make it into the press release, which means the AI that rewrites it doesn’t get it either, which means the low information types won’t read it.

    All part of the plan of keeping people illiterate and innumerate.

  10. The press is trying to get the maximum alarm points from the current fires.

    So far, about 4.8 million hectares have been burned in Canada this year. This is above the 2.5 million average, but still well short of the 7.4 million in 1959.

    The press is starting to say that this year is the worst in this Century. In climate timescales this is like saying that today’s recession is the worst since last Tuesday.

    The National Forestry Database shows that both the frequency and the area burned by forest fires has declined since 1981.

  12. Just heard a discussion yesterday on the local radio station news (650 CKOM) about the forest fire situation and the smoke filled air we are dealing with right now. The gal from Environment Canada warned us all that the extreme fire situations will only worsen in the future due to climate change. WTAF? These people have taken complete leave of their senses. Just repeating nonsense until it becomes truth.
