Example of what a sad joke news media is nowadays: CTV and Global last night, there was 50-32 for UCP in Alberta, plus a small note “44 needed to majority” and they were STILL not calling it. Was still “tight race”/”neck-and-neck”.
I’m thinking they were waiting (hoping?) for the advance poll results.
The advance votes were tabulated (counted by machine at time of voting) so that results would be known when the polls closed (or so the notices said at my polling station).
When I checked at around 11 PM approx 200,000 advance votes had still not been reported.
Perhaps they were hoping for a repeat of Biden vote dumps.
It’s not a joke, Dan. It’s the Canadian incarnation of Pravda. They have a storyline and they will stick to it like glue. The returns were slow getting reported last night. I can’t help but suspect that the networks were delaying reporting results until they had figured out how they were going to report what was clearly a disaster for them and their credibility.

I am re-watching “The Sopranos”. It premiered late January 1999 and went on until end of 2005, so started 24 years ago. It is amusing to see the old computers, old cell phones, old style big-screen TV’s but it is great to see how Tony and his crew handle Mob politics and their old fashioned sense of morality (you do not rape/have sex with teen-age girls). Like Ray Donovan, Tony carries a baseball bat in his trunk to take care of those who offend him. When our father traveled on business (a lot in the early 1960’s, our mother kept a baseball bat under the bed and being a good farm girl, was not afraid to use it). I am thinking that I should also get a baseball bat.

Interesting to read about the housing crisis in Britain. Funny that the Liberals and NDP here in Canada don’t have the intelligence to make a connection. Advocating for 100 million Canadians is the surest recipe for disaster that anyone with a working brain can imagine and yet both the Liberals and NDP are on board for that. Already farmers in Southern Ontario are voicing concern about the reduction in farmland due to urbanization and yet the Libs/Dippers still spout and believe that we can attain 100 million Canadians while achieving Net Neutrality in the future. I’ll believe that when Globull Warming enables us to grow dates and oranges in Prince Albert and we have cotton factories there employing all of the new Canadians to process the cotton crop.
The commencement speaker who moans that all LAWS are white supremacy is a female Muslim. Ostensibly someone who came to “white America” from a country that would bomb her for attending school … yet deigns to lecture US about our “illegitimate” laws. Just how much re-education did she get from SUNY? Enough to cause her brain to go literally INSANE.

That’s what Mayor London Breed has said about all the retailers closing up shop in San Francisco. She says it has nothing to do with serial shoplifting, drugs, feces on the street, violent crime, drugs, or homeless tents on every sidewalk in SF. No, she claims that it’s “all because of COVID”. As if SHE wasn’t the one who actually closed down the city. And she says it’s because of “online shopping trends”. Inotherwords she is in DEEP denial about retail collapse in SF. And guess what? SF hasn’t yet BEGUN to feel the DEEP IMPACT to their tax collections. The city is about to get SPANKED … but hard … by the realities of a Free Marketplace capitalism. Buh Bye tax revenues. Buh Bye Big Corporations.
So Kohls, Target, Anheiser Busch … all of them … will blame “changing consumer sentiment” … they won’t blame their own ineptitude for ramming the 2sLGBTQqAI+/- up our rectums for their losses. Nope. Truth NEVER fits into the narrative of leftists.
Two of my comments have gone directly to moderation … where they will die … this morning, despite having no bad words that I can detect. Is there now a limitation for the number of comments being left? What’s up? Is it time for me to move on?
I wouldn’t panic, Kenji, it has begun to seem over the past couple of days that there may actually be some problem with the moderation. It is a glitch, not a reproach, apparently.
