  1. Am old enough to remember our home – and those of our neighbours – back in the day and absolutely NONE of the women were carrying on like this. Some had jobs – the neighbour across the road was an extremely accomplished pianist and music teacher – and some (such as Mum and most of women in our town save those working as teachers and nurses) combined housekeeping with a lot of volunteer work which gave our town a really decent quality of life.

    1. Lately I’ve noticed some pushback on the largely liberal notion that the 1950s were some kind of horror show for anybody that wasn’t white or male.
Pure crap; it was a time of optimism about the future. Liberals hate that.

      1. Absolutely. Born in 1955 … I’ve seen tremendous technological changes in the home. But the real changes are for the WORST … the cultural changes that at first rejected the “9 to 5 … drag yourself back home alive” … but has morphed into a total lawless free for all and FREAK show. Sorry, but I am painfully reminiscent for the 1950’s and early 60’s … esp. here in CA … ground zero for degeneracy. Perhaps I just recall all of the warm, wonderful things from my childhood (despite my family making my childhood a living hell) … funny how the brain works … hang on to the good, and let the ugly crap go.

    1. kind of unbelievable but true. and the herald was never considered a lefty paper but now paid by the liberals

  2. Just Announced:
We have a Majority UCP Government in Alberta.
    Congratulations Premier Smith:
    UCP 52, NDP 35 seats.

      1. Congratulations Canada! Now at least we have some opposition to socialism, somewhere, in Canada.

    1. We have a Majority UCP Government in Alberta.

      Woohoo!!!

Congrats to all who made this happen. Now, let’s get to work.

      1. Perhaps there is hope for Alberta. I hope they join with Saskatchewan and push back against the federal government.
Both Alberta and Saskatchewan joined Confederation in 1905 – the last 118 years have not been that great for us.

    1. You will notice that no one mentions that the exclusion act was passed by a Liberal government.
Liberals have always been at the forefront of giving “special privileges” to special people.

    2. We got rid of the exclusion act and BC became a Chinese colony, just like our rather more intelligent forefathers predicted it would. They did it to protect us and we just threw it away.

  3. So happy about the Alberta election outcome. This was important. I wish we had a strong spokesperson for sensible policies in BC.

    1. Sort of glad but when you see the rural/urban split it doesn’t portend well for the future. Socialism in the cities no matter how ruinous the effects.

    1. Hi David
My Grandad served on the HMS Repulse during WW1. He married my Grandma on Christmas day 1915 as it was the only day that the sailors had shore leave.
I have a picture in the family album of him and his bride standing shore side along the Repulse that Xmas day so long ago. He in his jaunty sailor’s suit and cap … her in her proper English Edwardian attire. He had a magnificent smile on his face !
One doesn’t realize just how massive those warships were till you see a person standing beside them!
They had a good marriage and she passed away at the supper table on Xmas day 1977, sixty two years to the day of their marriage.
My Grandad being the old salt that he was moved to Canada in 1980 and lived out his final years at my mom’s in Muskoka where he bought a boat and used to go out on the water every chance he could with his trusty bottle of scotch. He passed in 1984 at the ripe old age of ninety.

  4. OJ posts a link to an important story about a new Tommy Robinson video. Don’t miss it. It seems to have been a challenge to produce, but it presents a correction to a media distorted smear of an incident at a school. It makes it clear that the media is driven by whatever agenda they and TPTB want to push, and that truth is secondary. Increasingly it is clear that this is true of media everywhere, and it is very destructive. Tommy is brave to take on this challenge, despite threats and intimidation.

  5. What a relief to wake up this morning to a UCP win in Alberta.

From the perspective of living here in BC, it is a breath of reasurance that the socialist NDP gov’t of this province will at least be kept in check up to a point and the Feds as well!
The best part though is that my wife and I just bought a house on an acre of land in rural Alberta last month and take possesion in June.
We found ourselves vacillating between Saskatchewan and Alberta for some time as trying to figure which way the political winds of provincial politics will/would go respectively for either province depending on election outcomes. Crystal ball anyone?

There is no security as to public policy in Canada any more as the tug of war between socialism and ‘leave me alone’ is dependant on which party gets in.
Its a lousy state of affairs when the citizenry don’t know which way the wind blows and can’t make informed life decisions due to ever changing and restrictive policies !

Any way , we found a place in Alberta that fit our present needs and had to make a commitment or pass on it. It was a precarious decision to say the least for if Alberta went socialist again then we may as well stay in BC and save our $$. We are in our 70’s and a major move is daunting up to a point, though it will be an adventure.

That all said, it looks as if we made a good decision and the gamble will pay off handsomely. We couldn’t be happier.

    Hello Alberta!

  6. Diversity is our strength. Bail reform is critical.

Some fine reporting from Global Edmonton on the career criminal that recently stabbed to death a mother and child in Edmonton.

“The man police say was responsible for the deaths of a mother and daughter outside Crawford Plains School earlier this month was considered a maximum security threat, even behind bars, according to parole documents. Now his previous victims are wondering why he was allowed out to re-offend. Sarah Ryan has more on what happened to them.”

    Lost my family’s $2,500 – $3,000 a year.
If you can find the longer video by all means… the whole ‘shoe-shine’ thing is inappropriate as a common sense non-starter.
