Nova Scotia got a preliminary injunction against a planned rally and the judge went out of his way to effectively call the rally planners morons for daring to think about anything but Covid.

It’s unfortunate but in the crazy upside down country I actually feel like complimenting him for his courage – THIS – is what shows true leadership. He must have known it was going to happen. O’Toole by comparison looks like a wilting violet growing from a steaming pile beside the cattle barn ready to be blown over with the first halfway strong gust of wind. By the way Bernier’s arrest is a huge gaff by the Gov’t on the same level as the Alberta pastors. There will be deeper than expected consequences. Possibly much deeper.

  31. The over-reaction of our political leaders of all parties has been astonishing and suggests the possibility of (a) mass delusion, (b) blackmail threats, or (c) financial inducements.

    Remember when Jason Kenney started out talking a bit like a normal person about this, even mentioning a need to balance health concerns and civil liberties, then went radio silent on part (b)? It was like they finally got to him as well.

    My guess is that there’s some fairly big pressure being exerted behind the scenes and it could very well include threats. Otherwise it is rather hard to fathom how a moderate public health challenge has been distorted into some sort of end-of-civilization crisis. I won’t be surprised if eventually we find out that the real agenda all along was to tackle the climate emergency that exists in the minds of many of our elites. I suspect this was all engineered to provide a pretext for drastic social changes that can gradually become the new normal by playing this out for a long enough period of time that people stop resisting it. If that is the plan, we should double down on resistance.
