  1. President Trump’s brother has died. Hope it doesn’t bring out the worst in people, but we’ll see.

  2. ACAB which is a BLM slogan and stands for All Cops Are Bastards is about to become All Blacks Are Criminals thanks to 4chan. It’s basically a checkmate if you think about it which is not something most liberals can do.

  3. Thank you for the Rockford Files. Will take it in and the rest from last 24 hours. Recently saw an old Columbo Movie from 1978. There’s something sweet about that era. The guest murderer was Louis Jordan. Very good!

I  can’t seem to find the thread where it was posted in order to reply. It’s the darndest thing!

    Replying here:

Thanks for your post ST— regarding what the Trump supporters did.

The reporter in the piece said some boats took off from Pier 60 in Clearwater Fla. and others joined in along the way for a recording breaking total of over 2,000 boats. The end of the line was at The Welch Causeway which is about 11.3 miles away, in Saint Petersburg Fla.

This is a neat thing to do in honor of President Donald Trump who now is a permanent resident of Florida.

I understand there are Annual lighted boat parades during the Christmas Season. See link below.

I should think that would be a lovely thing to do sometime. I spent some time in that very area back in ’89. Sanibel Island was lovely to visit as well.

Go Trump go! Keep America great!

    1. Typo fix: ‘Record’ breaking … not recording breaking, these clunkers think I should write it their way, funny that!

    2. While I was an undergrad, I lived in residences, and, with there was only the one TV set available, I would had to watch what everyone else did. I spent a lot of time in my room, my department building, or the library working on assignments and lab reports, so TV was a luxury for me.

As a result, I missed a lot of those shows, including The Rockford Files, though I was able to watch some of them during the summer when the re-runs were broadcast. Whole TV series came and went and I never saw a single episode, not that I feel deprived or anything like that. It was strange, though, to hear my parents talking about shows that I’d never heard of because I never got to see them.

      1. Same here. Didn’t always have cable just CBC and later CTV.
There was a time that I grew to hate TV shows, though getting a new fangled machine called a V.C.R. was terrific with stereo sound and speakers — it was a blast for movies.

  4. I bought the first 3 seasons of The Rockford Files on DVD as a gift, and was thanked for it. “I’d rather watch these old shows than any of the crap they’re making today.”

Ah, memories. I’ve been watching Babylon 5 for the last month. Done the 4th season, a couple of the movies, and the 5th season, yet to watch. There wasn’t supposed to be a 5th season, but 3 and 4 were just that good…

    1. I had a similar impression with Miami Vice. After watching the pilot, I gave the show a pass as I didn’t think it was all that good.

A number of years ago, the old HMV chain offered all 5 seasons on DVD at discount prices, so I figured “Why not?”, getting them for 40% of that they normally would have been sold for. It wasn’t as bad as I remembered it and, now, I dust it off every few years, watching one episode a week.

      1. The comment I was trying to add a reply, I think the gods of the internet are trying to say I’m done for the night (hic).

    1. Look at the idiots they vote in in their city they are getting what they deserve.I gave up on Minnesota years ago

      1. The people who are outvoted and vote against the communists and race biters do not deserve it. Minnesota outside of the Minneapolis is largely sane btw.

  6. Well, at least he’s aware of what will happen.

  7. an offshoot of what is here: walk with me

I haven’t seen them locally, missed them by a week. I know them mostly from their collaborations with Peter Hollens. Support local arts, our you will lose them (as they lose their dreams to their daylight jobs).

  8. If you get Decades TV channel, they have Carol Burnett shows on all day today.

Carol, Harvey Corman, Tim Conway, and the most talented guests.

  9. Protesters gathered outside Great Leader’s riding office yesterday demanding that all illegal migrant parasites be allowed to stay in Canada. But as we all know he was boating on Georgian Bay yesterday. Justin continues his awesome vacation today.

    1. Justin continues his awesome vacation today.

He reminds me of an old joke I once heard. Someone complained about having to work on Wednesdays because it ruined both weekends.

Dear Leader needs a pre-vacation vacation, an actual vacation, and a post-vacation vacation. It’s amazing he gets anything done at all.

  10. If you like old PBS tv shows , watch ” I, Claudius “.
A British production from the late 1970’s.
Had some of Britain’s top talent in it, even John Hurt just as the Alien Movie was coming out.
Superb series on the lives of the Ceasars of Ancient Rome.

    1. Agreed. I’ve requested it from our library so my husband can watch it. He loved “Rome” and I said to him, “if you loved that, you will really love I, Claudius.”

Also reminds me of an episode of “Cheers.” At a dinner party, Sam and Frazier end up fighting with Diane and Lilith. They ditch the women and Frazier suggests they watch “I, Claudius.” Sam says, “Great. I love gladiator movies.” Nearly wet myself laughing.

    2. When I moved to Calgary early in 1978, the apartment I rented came with cable TV. One of the first shows I started watching on PBS (Masterpiece Theatre hosted by the late Alistair Cooke) was I, Claudius and I was mesmerized. For me, that was what television was supposed to be about.

Another series that is in the same league is The Jewel in the Crown, which was shown during the mid-1980s.

I’ve got them both on DVD.

      1. I was also mesmerized by “The Jewel in the Crown.” Tim Pigott-Smith was wonderful but it’s difficult to see him in other roles without thinking of Ronald Merrick. Geraldine James drove me crazy because she never seemed to know what to do with her hands; her arms just hung awkwardly at her sides. I just may consider purchasing the DVDs now.

        1. I heard that viewers were swept up by what happened on screen. TPS was often accosted on the street for what had happened in a previous episode.

The DVD edition I have not only has commentaries by some of the cast, but also some of the introductions and closing comments by Alistair Cooke.

    1. Forty-six years ago, Democrats in California weren’t bad, and California wasn’t a sh*thole.
It’s sad what they’ve done to the place.

    2. It was a clever show with clever characters. Politics wasn’t really involved and it was a good reflection of life in general at the time.

      1. I frequently had to chuckle about the phone messages that played over the opening credits each episode. I remember one in which a pizzeria called and said that someone had accidentally spilled cleanser on his order and that they hoped he didn’t mind a bit of Comet on his pizza.

  11. William Smith, who played the tough guy, has an amazing background. Look up his bio on IMDB or Wikipedia.

  12. Just back from a short tour where I stayed in three hotels. All had been renovated, including their bathrooms. Both my wife and I noticed the toilets had morphed into something else. They were shorter, front to back, and had an almost round shape. They certainly weren’t designed for Western bums. Are these Chinese toilets?

    1. Are these Chinese toilets?

Nope.  Just cheap renovator/builder specials.  Elongated bowl toilets usually cost extra.  (Elongated bowl toilets are the only kind I’ll accept in my home.)

    2. Just replaced a couple of toilets in the spring and asked about all of the toilets on display in the showroom. Not one made in Canada or America. American Standard bowls are manufactured in Mexico, all the rest are made in Brazil, or you guessed it, China! If we continue down this road of importing all of our manufactured product from countries that are not subject to our environmental protection limitations we will be relegated back to the outhouse in the backyard. That being the case I’m going to buy a pallet of the new edition of JT’s lifestory.

    3. Certain trades have become obsolete but plumbing isn’t one of them.

Last Spring I had a plumber come in to investigate a leak and he completed his visit here in two consecutive days. During the first visit he had an urgent call and had to leave for downtown. One would’ve thought he was a doctor and had a code blue!

The next day he explained that his urgent call was at an hotel where he changed out the whole works and has the contract there for regular maintenance, 24/7.

He knew my easy going nature and that he could put my issue on hold because I had him do a major job here in 2019 when he changed out all the “Poly B” plumbing throughout the whole house, a big job.

He told me that he recently bought a bigger house and that his family grew by one more child. Lovely man works hard and makes a good living.

P.S: Changed toilet bowls out to brand name “Toto”– made in Mexico.

    4. The Canadian cheap Toilets are made in Korea, low to the floor, poor flushing …..The next step will be a hole in the TILE floor & a water hose….I insist on a hi-boy Trane/ American Standard with rapid flush….

      1. Poor flushing is right.

About 15 years ago, the management of my apartment building replaced all the toilets with low-flow units. It doesn’t take much to plug them, which was why our current manager insisted that each unit have its own plunger.

My father replaced the original toilet at my house with one that had dual flow. Unfortunately, the main seal’s now worn, so it leaks and the plunger doesn’t go down by itself. I can’t get a replacement because the toilet was a model now discontinued by Rona and spare parts aren’t available. Generic seals are a bit too tight for the plunger to move freely.

I’m not going to spend hundreds of dollars replacing a toilet because of a $5 seal.

I also get the impression that contractors aren’t all that impressed by the low- and dual-flow units.

        1. Just a Tip on slow flushing Toilets. The water from the tank does not go directly into the Bowl… The Bowl Upper Outer Ring has HOLES under it that plug & must be cleaned out… If the holes plug the water backs up & the tank Seal will leak….. Be careful not to break the Bowl ring, use a small screwdriver bent 90 degrees to get under the Ring…. Nice clean holes = quick flushes..

          1. Low flow toilets are stupid. Nowhere in Canada is there a shortage of water and what is flushed down the toilet is back in the river in a few days. Six foot two and well over 200 pounds. I should be hired to test low flush toilets. Haven’t met a toilet I couldn’t plug.

        2. Also depends on the geometry of the sewage lines. Do they go down relatively vertically into the basement, or do they have long, almost horizontal sections?

  13. Seems the CPC are leading without a leader. The Greens moved up just by being mute, and non-committal. Guess they are hoping for their chance at the trough.

    1. The CPC increase will get turned around right proper when Justin’s Jurnos get a hold of the new CPC leader.

  14. And now the CBC’s Political Scrum Show. Big discussion on how Canada’s economic recovery should look like. Fat indian and black woman explain that the priority should be lots of money for indians and blacks because of white colonial oppression or something. Lots of emphasis on green energy scams. Jason Kenney is Hitler for promoting coal and oil.

  15. Maze concerned with teachers organizing collective work refusal
Aug 14, 2020 4:41 PMA growing number of teachers in the province are pursuing collective action to refuse work, citing unsafe working conditions due to COVID-19 in response to the province’s return-to-school plan.

L- T.L.M. threatening to shut down the schools… just to see who runs the province.

Private schooling, should be the option for any parent/grandparent to have their school/education taxes go towards.

T.L.M. psychological abuse and exploitation, just opt out.

Marxist political indoctrination or the canon of Western Civilization; the building of good character, learning to be resilient, to manage risk, the inspiration to accept responsibility, for self and nation-state ?

  16. Check this out.
Rowan Dean Sky News Australia;History to ‘vindicate’ swedish covid-19 strategy.
    Put up 23 hours ago.

7:18 minutes and fast paced ,he hammers the nannies, mocks the medical associations and fear mongers.

Now what was also interesting,I was trolling to see what updates of the Swedish Covid Situation ..
Almost nothing since June July where the commentators were criticizing Sweden’s response.

Almost like good news is forbidden..But the narrative.

Seems the Spectator Blog was accurate,Covid is done in Sweden.
Which means our fearful “leaders” were wrong and are now prolonging the agony.
Perhaps because they dare not admit their ignorance?

    1. Our leaders will prolong it until the November election in USA.
      Then it will magically disappear.
