    1. And not a single MSM puppet asked the Bloviator in Chief Bill Blair or Prime Minister Dithers whether the “enhanced screening” included shutting down the Roxham Road welcome wagon. And if not, why not.

    This is government efficiency.
    They undercut the actual working staff and flood the airways with their boasts,of “Enhanced Screening”.
    Sorry folks but this is as good as it gets.
    You “trust in government” you will always be betrayed.

  6. There is no tearing hurry returning to the US if you are a citizen or permanent resident. You will be allowed in as there is not a deadline. The only reason I can see to panic is if you are afraid of catching the Wuhan Pneumonia where you are. Which may be a real danger, I am not on the spot trying to decide?

    Forty eight to seventy two hours later, there will likely be no lines, and likely more room on the airliner flying across the ocean too.

    One way to make the lines safer would be to screen temperatures by going down the line to the end. Pull out and isolate any people running a fever just like you do when the reach the monitor station. You could probably use a FLIR Camera, and have the people face the camera, and do dozens per minute.

    This is the middle of the night on the weekend, likely it is normally the dead time. How many government employees are going to roll out on a Saturday Night to beef up the customs desks? Likely the ICE Bureaucrat in Charge either can’t or won’t make that call anyway.

    1. The problem is, direct flights are being halted from Europe to the US. SO while you are correct tht a US citizen won’t be refused entry, it won’t be from a European flight until at least mid-April.
      However, Turdhole is allowing European flights to continue to bring C19 to our country, Americans could take that route, fly to Pearson, connect to their final destination, or is that Final Destination?

  8. Not a chicago-specific issue obviously. One wonders how many in the thousands are infected and then how many more will be from this unfortunate overloading of the system.

    1. It’s a good thing there is a travel ban on foreigners. Could only make this worse. I wonder how many Chinese came through here every week, pre-Chinese travel ban?

    2. Likely staffed with majority Chicagoans though. Attitude/disposition of the screeners probably accounts for 90% of the problem with that line.

      1. I have travelled through O’Hare more times than I ever wanted to.
        As I sat and watched the incompetence unroll around me I became absolutely convinced that I could make the place several times more efficient.

        All it would take would be a stack of pink slips and a cattle prod.

      2. That goes for EVERY American port of entry…..our own aren’t much better. CBSA screeners at check-in routinely pull white people out of the lineup, to practice their invasive search on. Its pathetic and disgusting, while the hooded wymyn from the desert go through undisturbed. Witness it all the time!
        My last few trips, personal and business, have been pulled aside by both US and Canada staff. Swabbed, felt up, screened, xrayed, bag pulled apart to show my razor, toothbrushes, deodorant, and various small sundries, that must have a offended a BORED agent. That big white balding slightly pudgy 56 year old just might be a fckng drug dealer or terrorist, let the hidden burqa people go, what would they ever do, its the religion of peace!

  11. Went through Ohare back in the 90’s and felt like I was one of the herd at a cattle drive.
    The experience was replete with a rather husky female border staff yelling instructions to passengers and I swear at one point she yelled “move em up”.
    Looks like it hasn’t changed.

  13. Bill Blair is a typical Liberal who believes strongly in the power of communication. Having said the words ‘we have enhanced screening’, he is probably unaware that he has to do anything else in order to actually have enhanced screening.

    Ah well, so what if a few of the little people get sick. The media will never call them on their incompetence, so no harm done, amirite?

  14. Just a few moments ago. John Northcott, host of CBC Sunday Morning, was promoting the infamous left-lib Sunday Panel. He said, “The federal government is taking extrordinary measures during this crisis”. Whaa?

    Last week in the mountains of Kananaskis, no paper, no TV, no WIFI, no phone, just radio.
    Listening to stations across north America, the reports were specific that the Chicago airport was deserted.

  16. Screening should have started a couple months ago. Hasn’t started yet. Perhaps there should be a $1,000 stupid tax on each flight to cover the extra cost of actually employing equipment and medical staff at airports.

    1. Don’t need extra medical staff and equipment at airports if you ban unnecessary international travel. If liberal New Zealand can do it so can Canada.

  20. I could say that I weep for my country, but that would just ignore the fact that TWICE a plurality of Canadians voted for this Government. The first time, somewhat understandable, Harper-fatigue, I get it. But twice? After watching the first 4 years, and you could still vote for this foreskin of a PM? REALLY? Has this country lost its way so profoundly?
    I guess that answer is quite clear. Yes, yes it has. So, I await the next federal election when it comes, I will do my duty and vote as I have done for over 40 yrs. But I grow very tired of that half of the country that choses to not use any sort of critical thinking skills, or common sense. I am also weary of the lack of a Conservative candidate that can galvanize Liberal-leaning voters to our side without leaning left. Where is the charisma and competence on the Right? Of the 3 declared candidates for Leader, only one even sounds like a Conservative, the other is a red Tory, and the other is a east-coast Liberal wearing Liberal clothing… but he is more likely to win a federal election that the other two…. Why is the Conservative gene-pool so damn shallow?
