There should be a word for “I know I’m being manipulated but I am moved anyway.” We need that word because it is the essence of our entire media/entertainment/political culture.
It’s an entertaining read, nonetheless.
I realized we needed that word while watching the way Daphne Zuniga’s dress kept slipping off one shoulder in Spaceballs.
The word for it is unpretentious.
For too long the politicians have been trying to outdo themselves with some exceptions to show the masses how “with it” they are.
