I’m not the only Canadian journalist to write a book about Trudeau during the campaign. So did two pro-Trudeau left-wingers — Aaron Wherry of the CBC state broadcaster and John Ivison of Postmedia, the largest recipient of Trudeau’s newspaper bail-out.
 
Neither of them is being investigated for writing their books. Only me.

  14. I bought and read his book and I didn’t see anything in it that wasn’t already made public in the news. He simply compiled all that information and presented it in an organized manner.

    But, like I’ve said numerous times on SDA, the average Canadian voter remembers political matters for less than 6 weeks and that’s something that the Libranos bet on. (When was the last time anybody you know mentioned, let alone recalled, SNC Lavalin, eh?)

We have over 500,000 PAGES of Laws and rules and regulations, they meaning government take more in taxes than you can keep for the necessities of life.

    2. The author complains that Canada has an unworkable “fake democracy”. Actually it is not a fake democracy. It’s merely another illustration that democracy is unworkable on a large scale. A mass decentralization (down to the Dunbar number?) would alleviate many, but not all of the problems inherent in democracy, Even a small democracy such as a family has its own problems. The founders of America did not envision or even mention the word democracy in any of their writings. They imagined a republic with the rule of law. BTW I read an article the other day wherein the author made the important distinction between the “rule of law” and the “rule by law”. This is just another way of distinguishing between “law” and “legislation” Bottom line: The problem isn’t Canada, it is the institution of majoritarian democracy which, while somewhat workable in small groups, is simply not scaleable..

  23. Ezra should consider going after the leadership of the CPC. Then there would be no attempt to keep him out of the debates. CBC would have to let him speak. Moreover, he will not give Liberals a free pass. He has a loud mouth, but he is very persuasive. That’s what’s needed.

    Secondly, Ezra Levant should see this as a challenge. Tweet/send/homing pigeon/smoke-signal portions of this book EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE. Canadians won’t get it because words are hard to read but everyone else will.

    Treat Canada like the kid in class who has pink eye. Shame and money do the talking here, not principles. Let Canadians be told and explained how they are they are the new North Korea now and let that happen. When they realise that no one likes them, THEN they might start to question Pierre’s little mistake.

You probably know this already, but I’ve been informed that there are some fairly shocking and draconian measures tucked away in the most recent omnibus bill passed by the federal Liberals, including one that allows for up to five years in jail for anyone publishing unsubstantiated material critical of the Prime Minister. Does anyone know anything about this?
