  1. They should rename the Nationals stadium “The Swamp,” because the Astros sure drained it tonight.
    They won biggly.

  2. Ah, Twitter… does anyone posting on there realize that the DC area voted 91% Dumbocrat? And who was attending the baseball game in Washington, but folks who voted for Hillary. But, narrative!

    1. True, the primary audience for any thing in DC is left wing democrats. I think that is where all the polls were done when Trump was running for office.

  3. Leaving early?
Most of them are civil servants who have to be fresh and alert for work tomorrow AM and don’t forget they are required to sit up straight in their chair for the whole day.

    1. Ha! You made me pass a perfectly good sip of Oban scotch through my nose … ouch! That burns! It burns. It burns

      1. Oban, mmm. It doesn’t get better than that. Even if someone makes you pass it through your nose.

  4. Recall that the Washington Nationals are the former Montreal Expos, who left Montreal because Lucien Bouchard refused to spend taxpayer money on a new stadium for a lousy baseball team. One of the wisest decisions Bouchard ever made.

Without subsidies from city governments who think a major sports team makes their expensive, dangerous and unremarkable city “world class,” most major league franchises in north America would go out of business. Few adults who earn their keep honestly have the time or money to attend games—and the president looked like he’d rather be anywhere else.

  5. President Trump knew he’d be booed but he went anyways. I mean it is swampy Washington DC after all, one of the biggest liberal bubbles in the USA. Add in the fact the Nationals management felt it necessary to show off their TDS by having the first pitch thrown out by an ardent Trump hater, some famous chef in town and ya… not much of a surprise. This will just give the children in the media something to snicker about.

    1. And look at the big grins on both Trump’s and Melania’s faces … as if to say … we’re HERE and SHE’s not!!!!

    2. “….knew he’d be booed but went anyway”…..”swampy Washington DC”
My thoughts as well. Explanation escapes me.

If he had gone to game 6 in Houston the reaction might have been very different……that’s my thought.

There’s no cry….er, politics in baseball.

We are so divided as a country that I wonder if we’ll survive the struggle without bloodshed.
