Communist infiltration of key facets of North American life is well established. McCarthy simply gave a ‘in your face’ fact check of that reality. His fears of the extent are supported by many Americans and even Soviet agents who defected. Randolf Hurst fought the communists as they tried to take over his printing presses in the ’20’s. Jack London wrote about joining the communist movement in the late 1890’s and later how he defected from that movement. Ronald Reagan’s first venture into politics was all about his fight, as president, of the Screen Actors Guild, which had been virtually taken over by communist. Even our own, Conrad Black, fought the communists in his papers.
This is well documented history. Conservatives have lost this battle in most fronts. What we now call progressives are led by communists. They control education, media and both government unions and management. All conservatives are now fascists and their right to free speech is limited more each day. Venezula was not a failure in communism but bad oil prices. Trump is a racist and global warming is the fault of capitalism. Very simple really.
Communist infiltration of their enemies is well established around the world. It is not restricted to Russia as China has joined in as well. It is much cheaper and more likely to yield bigger gains than out right military conflict.

McCarthy was wrong in his methods, not the issue of Communist activity… He did accomplish the identification of multiple Cells in America… The Communist Poet who’s poem was/Is attached to the Statue of Liberty by a Cell of Jewish Communists in NYC was identified.. That Communist cell self-eliminated to protect themselves…. The Communists in the Media quote that Poem as if it was the original intent of Liberty…

When looking at America today and the slate of communist idiots running for the presidency one has no problem getting to the fact that McCarthy was 100% correct.
During the fifties the Republicans began looking at the Communist infiltration of the FDR Administration*. Democrats were caught on the wrong foot. Instead of coming clean about their dalliance with Communists, they chose to change the subject. The targeting of anti-Communist Joe McCarthy was intended to take the focus away from the Democrats treasonous behaviour of the forties.

I hate it when I have to agree with you! I wish you were wrong. All that is necessary for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing. How timely is this? I am in the process of reading ‘Inrepid’s last case” by William Stevenson about how Sir William Stephenson became involved in he I. Gouzenko defection in Canada in 1945, exposing soviet infiltration of the West including all governments. WLM King was very willing to ignore the evidence and attempts were made by many people sympathizing with or actual agents of the USSR to suppress the evidence.
