Diversifying away from USA trade is a national security issue for Canada. China was an attractive option on the surface. Reality strikes a ugly pose as China demonstrates a long term plan for subjugating Western interests.

Canada had a world class industry in oil and gas and that has been destroyed. Not just an industry that brought billions of $’s into government coffers but also an industry of leading edge engineering and research. Canada, in truth, does next to no trade with the US- the trade is with 1000’s of US firms. Refineries on the gulf coast write contracts for crude delivery, not the US government. The only way that US oil trade with Canada is harmful is the devaluation of the Canadian dollar under Trudles. That’s it. The best thing for Canada is for the government to stay out of the oil trade. They would like nothing better than to deliver oil sands to Chinese “ investors “ on a silver platter.
What Canada needs to diversify away from is the Liberal Party rule, and government by the insider – Liberal or conservative- for the insider.
