    1. Carl, I doubt it. Both the local candidates for the CPC are climate change acolytes, and both are big (alleged) admirers of Scheer.

      We can only hope Scheer is playing it safe to get elected,then will do the famous and effective Chretien About-Face on global warming and put it on the back burner to simmer there forever.
      Right now a big problem with conservatives is we are pissed off and want a rebel to represent us in the PM’s Office. With Scheer or Trudeau we won’t get that. The redeeming value of Scheer is at least he has respect for the West and will do what he can to get the oil/gas industry going again, but invite Dr.Tim Ball, I don’t think so. IF he wins, I would hope he’d force the management on CBC to invite Dr.Ball as a regular guest on climate change, but that’s probably a faint hope.

So while we contemplate our climate navels with $T’s … the residents of Flint MI are drinking lead.

A screaming, whining, minority of the population affected by AIDS caused a massive shift of medical research $$$ away from the myriad of other diseases plaguing mankind. A largely “lifestyle” disease … unprotected random anonymous sex in bath houses ‘the gays’ refused to shut down … started sucking up (no pun intended) a huge proportion of research $$$. And if $$ wasn’t diverted, then you were called a homophobe, and an AIDS denier. Sound familiar?

    So Moore may be labeled a “denier”, but he’s not stupid. He’s not in the pockets of BIG OIL. He is not a pig who wants to spoil the environment. Quite the opposite … he wants to spend our available resources solving environmental problems that affect us most. Clean air (no, not “clean” of Co2), clean water, clean landscapes (not covered in windmills and solar panels). These are the things we should be investing-in. Because THOSE investments have paid Uuuge dividends. As someone who experienced LA air “quality” in the 1970’s as compared to today, I can certify just how effectively the ICE tailpipe redesign has worked.

    Both the AIDS “epidemic” (it wasn’t) and “runaway” Global Warming (it isn’t) are dependent on public OUTRAGE and hysteria to survive. The loudest crybabies get fed by our media-driven society. The crybullies WIN. AIDS research still dominates all disease research, esp. in publicity. And the Global Warming Gravy $$ Train is a runaway locomotive (emphasis on the loco).     Only volcanic activity can release large amounts of CO2 from the Earths mantle.
    At some point in Earths past CO2 levels were 4000 ppm with the ocean being a massive sink of CO2.

    Ocean creatures including coral learn to use this CO2 to create shells creating calcium carbonate.
    It is estimated that 50% of limestone is comprised of their remains with approx the remaining 50% of limestone being chemically created calcium carbonate.

    8 to 10 % of the land above water on the earths crust is limestone created in shallow seas.
    That is a lot of CO2 permanently fixed and never to appear as CO2 again.

    In the greenhouse we try to aim for 800 ppm CO2 where plants thrive.

    There is a carbon cycle that we and all living things are part of. It is the root of organic chemistry

    CO2 is LIFE.

      Clearcuts ARE a “temporary meadow”, if we don’t replant ’em, nature does.

      And don’t bother to reply with cries of “selective logging” and other green fantasies only those outside the industry believe will work, never recognizing the type and quality of the forest required to make it economically viable.

The soil was conserved by being relatively undisturbed (cable logging). The site is highly productive in that it will yield another stand of timber with roughly the same species as was harvested at comparable or better volume within 60 years (three to four times the yield per hectare of anywhere East of the Rockies and forty years earlier. Moore has a PhD in forest ecology as well as growing up in a logging camp so he knows these things rather than relying on credentials alone.

      Patrick Moore and his brother operated a fish farm in the eighties so he knows something about them.

      As for “denying the scientific position on Climate Change” could you please enlighten us and tell us what that is as I heard him say that “climate change” is undeniable and continuous.

    6. You should read what Patrick Moore has to say about clear-cutting. In some cases it produces a better future forest than selective logging which is not a natural procedure (for a forest). I do not know enough about forests to be able to contradict Moore but his science sounds logical.

      In the old days the forest companies would replant with a single species of tree. Today these dying forests of only pine trees are 50-70 years old. A lot has changed and now the forest companies plant 5 species at a time to produce a more natural forest. Moore has helped educate forestry companies in this regard. Why is that a bad thing?

    If I recall correctly, he was one of the crew members of the boat that tried to sail into the nuclear test area during the Cannikin trial on Amchitka back in 1971. I believe he was one of GP’s spokemen and I’m sure he was cited as being a co-founder in the news reports that I saw or read.

    There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years. I have to admit that after reading many of the Climate Gate emails that it appears the fix has been in for decades. None of the IPCC’s expensive models are able to predict climate change, raw temperature data’s been adjusted to make earlier years cooler to make recent history look warmer. Bill Nye’s Climate 101 video experiment done with Al Gore isn’t proof – it was faked. Dr. Mann’s magic hockey stick isn’t proof – Canadian scientists Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick debunked that thoroughly. Sea level rise history isn’t proof – Australian researchers (for example) found the data relied upon by the UN was adjusted “upward” in arbitrary ways. Also the much lower unadjusted data sea level rise rate isn’t proof because it shows a linear rate of change since the end of the Little Ice Age 160 years ago (the IPCC 2013 report says the rate of change in sea level between 1920-1950 is comparable to the rate between 1993-2010) – so there’s NO ACCELERATION meaning that the changing atmospheric CO2 concentration is not the cause. There was actually a “doomsday” sea level rise paper this year that’s been publicly debunked but managed to get published with embarrassing huge math mistakes. Drowning polar bears isn’t proof as Canada’s polar bear population is growing and the roaming bears are becoming a threat to our Inuit people. Clearly the bears are swimming fine. The end of snow in Britain isn’t proof as they recently experienced what’s been called “Snowmageddon” just over a month ago and they’re quite sick of winter. So I can’t find any proof of human caused warming. But I do see an overflowing abundance of exaggerations, end of the world fear mongering, dishonest cherry picking and data adjusting, a continual procession of wrong climate predictions in the media and no acknowledgement that just maybe the IPCC and all those gov’t grant reliant researchers and subsidized renewable energy shills are wrong. It’s been long enough with the smoke and mirrors lie that is “Climate Change”. If there’s actual physical non-adjusted proof the a modest increase in a trace atmospheric gas is causing measurable changes to the Earth’s temperature please point it out. Otherwise it’s all just hot air….
