Is it just a general observation, something he said re. this latest spat, the firing of the ambassador – does the Chinese source give specifics? (I don’t trust CBC to.)

    1. IMHO, the Chicom comment is nuanced. The Chicoms have great respect for their US enemy (yet huge customer) because the US still has real military and economic power. Canada, OTOH is a joke. Whatever business they do with Canada (mostly inseparable from strategic influence and technological intelligence harvesting aimed at the US), they know that it has no military power but instead free-loads under the US umbrella while having the gall to criticize their regime for human rights abuse. They see Canada as a nation of powerless poseurs. They had more respect for Harper because they knew him to be their enemy rather than a hollow man child Spawn of another arrogant poseur asshole, occasionally sucking up to them as a form of virtue signalling but now having to hide under the skirt of their US neighbour. The current leader of China is a Stalinist. If you want real respect from him, it helps to have Nukes aimed at him.

    1. It sure makes one wonder. For most people, it seems people do not care what is happening until it affects them personally. The small inconsequential things of their lives are much more important than what is happening to their country.

    US has just issued a press release on the charges against Hauwai and its top executives.
    If the Canadian government has to think about what they need to do with the CFO then they have already botched this file beyond all reason.
    China will not forgive, forget, or let it pass even if she doesn’t get extradited to the US.
    Fast track the extradition tonight and send the message to China that we owe them nothing.
    If any Canadian in China doesn’t realize they need to leave China now they must be liberal voters.

I believe they’re sending Trudeau a very clear message, he and Butts must be sweating right now. They’re boxed in, will piss off either the #1 trading partner and closest ally, or our #2 trading partner and the regime Trudeau admires most in the world.

      Maybe we’ll get lucky and the stress will cause Trudeau to falter in his campaigning this election year.
