For the first time in its history, the American Psychological Association (APA) released guidelines concerning men and boys, saying that so-called “traditional masculinity” not only is “harmful” but also could lead to homophobia and sexual harassment.
 
“The main thrust of the subsequent research is that traditional masculinity – marked by stoicism, competitiveness, dominance and aggression – is, on the whole, harmful,” reads the news release by the famed association.

  6. I thought they screwed up 45 years ago when humping your buddies was declared normal. Then they said being a rebellious teen was a mental illness. Now being a normal man is a mental illness.     They don’t like anything that has a “thrust.” It reeks of phallo-centrism.

    1. I guess jet engine and rocket manufacturers will have to come up with different phrases to describe the performance of their machines. “Thrust” may become a forbidden word.

      They could try something like “push” but that might also be considered to have a double meaning.

  10. Competitiveness. That’s the big one. It flies in the face of those who abhor capitalism and want nationalization of everything. It consistently destroys the one-sided arguments that the left constantly applies (global warming, transgender rights, gay rights, women’s rights). Competing means holding a position and then supporting that position with facts in competition against those who hold opposite opinions. Remove competitiveness and you end up with responses like “the debate is over” or “you are a phobe, ist etc…

    Remove competition from our society and it becomes stagnant.

      1. LMAO….I went on a date with a psychiatrist one time. Walking down South Street in Philly. Out of the blue, no warning, she screamed at the top of her lungs. Everyone around us jumped, stopped what they were doing and stared at us. I was confused…and of course, started looking around frantically for the source of her response. A couple moments went by…and she smiled, took a deep breath and calmly stated. “Sometimes I do that when I’m feeling stress. It’s a good release.”

        I soldiered on for another hour or so, then made the “I have to get home and feed my dog” time to leave. Nice meeting you. Bye.

No, not a “religious” name but something about a fish struggling upstream. Of course it was THE single most SHOCKING event of my life, however a blessing in disguise … as her brother, who acted as her “Moving Company” … later became a middle school science teacher … and was caught diddling the little girls … and committed suicide by driving his car off a cliff, into the Pacific Ocean. A completely toxic strain of DNA … boy am I glad I never made a child with THAT whack job.
