Early on in his career, I had appreciation for his work. If I went back to look at his stuff now, I’d probably be ashamed of that. The watershed moment for me was at the end of Bowling for Columbine when he was like a dog on a bone (or on a leg?) going after Charlton Heston, who was obviously suffering from Alzheimer’s (or something of similar effect) and had no clue what this annoying fatty was doing at his house. He showcased that as the “climax” of his film, and I lost all respect for him. I have steadfastly refused to watch anything he’s done since, including interviews or commentary. He’s just a big, self-important, self-righteous dick.
I would MUCH RATHER receive a FREE shotgun in exchange for opening a new bank account … as receive a cheap ass toaster. Most of BforC sounded less mockery … than reason and sound policy to me. And I found the interview with Marilyn Manson to be fascinating.
PS … the REAL “lesson” learned from Columbine was that psycho kid loners need SERIOUS mental health counseling … and … that the POleece should not spend hours setting-up a high-tech command center, holding press conferences and meetings, coordinating an entry strategy, making plans … for hours while victims bleed out on the linoleum. While MORE victims are shot. Talk about a bureaucratic cluster fkcu!!
I thought one of the lessons still hasn’t been learned: don’t be completely disinterested in the lives of your children. If you offload the responsibility for raising your kids, don’t keep up on their hobbies or interests, monitor who their friends are, and so on, your lack of parenting (and I’m *not* advocating helo parenting) is not going to lead to good outcomes for kids who are already a little unbalanced. And you can’t know if your kids are or are not, unless you’re spending the time with them.

It’s quite a change to view Democrats as keepers of the status quo and Republicans as bringers of change. Trump has done that, to a wealthy, privileged elite.
