  1. Scheer trying to bully Bernier didn’t work. First – Scheer is a sissy, not a bully. Second – Berniers is too tough and self-assured.

    1. Ezra is dead wrong about Max being able to be a good Quebec Lt. Scheer blasted Max one week before the recent by-election in Qc and the Conservatives still won. Putting Max in charge of Qc didn’t work for Harper — he (Max) screwed up — I’d say in part because, as a Libertarian in Qc, he never grew up. He dated a stripper when he should have been raising a family. Good Libertarians don’t make good Conservative leaders. They haven’t had the experience making the necessary sacrifices — hedonism doesn’t go over well in public. The only reason Libertarians are in the Conservative party is that the Liberals have given up on individual freedom for Identity politics.

Max is a legend in his own mind and well regarded in the Beauce but up until attaining infamy over his split with the Cons he has not been seen as a leader of the Conservatives in Qc — except by the Mulroney machine; to the extent that there is one. We’ll find out if there is a real Mulroney machine now. Can it turn Max into a real leader? Stay tuned.

The question now is: What can Max do with his infamy? He has the easiest job now as the bulk of the Cdn media wants him to split the vote to allow Shiny Pony a long reign.

P.S. I wonder to what extent Ezra hitching his reporting to the Max Movement had to do with him not getting credentials at the convention?

  2. I do not know Bernier.
I have never met the man.

I do not know if Bernier is ambitious/has designs on leadership, or simply does not suffer fools, or simply cannot abide conservatives in name only, or something else.

I was just reading the Facehooked thing below…
“inner structures of semi-democracies, authoritarian regimes, and totalitarian systems
    — Strong ideology
     — Hyper-centralized and tightly held leadership
     — Long-term vision
     — Cult of Personality
     — Will of controlling all aspects of the society
     — Little tolerance for any dissenting opinion, suppression of any internal opposition”
Is that what Scheer is attempting to do with the CPC?

If it is, Scheer is guaranteed to fail.
Strong ideology? Yeah, Scheer fails on this one.
Hyper-centralized and tightly held leadership? Scheer has this one in spades.
Long-term vision? Seen no evidence of this from Scheer.
Cult of Personality? Yeah, another fail for Scheer.
Will of controlling all aspects of the society? I have seen no evidence that Scheer wants to, or can, control anything.
Little tolerance for any dissenting opinion, suppression of any internal opposition? Scheer has this one in spades.

So, Scheer fails on 4 of 6, if what he wants is absolute control of the CPC.

Anyone think this guy will ever be PM, or even still be leader tomorrow?

  3. The Fact is, that in 15 months, one barely heard the Supposed “OPPOSITION” Leader doing what he should have been doing….Verbally Annihilatiing Trudeau. Its not like Justine didnt lay out a veritable buffet of Socialist Stupididty and utter BS in from of him..?? and through all that ….?? Anemic replys – Gutless rhetoric and no brains whatsoever in regards to dealing with Maxime.

Not someone I want to lead our country.
I will in fact vote for Max and his soon to be named, new party. Its high time in this country for something different.

    1. In regards a new party…

Why do we allow the entire “party” thing to even continue?
The whole “party” thing is barriers to entry, plain and simple.

You have to pay cash money to get your name on a ballot.
You have to get a petition with some unrealistic name count to get your name on a ballot.
Other rules and fees I do not even know about.
All of these are barriers to entry.

When you setup barriers to entry, who and what are you hoping to protect? etc. etc. etc.

The US system allows write in candidates; this makes their political process ipso facto better; there is no barrier to entry in the American political space.

    2. That is my biggest disappointment with Scheer. He simply does not go after Trudeau given many opportunities. Max reference their operating with polls and focus groups. People will continue to support Trudeau in large numbers if no one tells them any differently. I am convinced Trudeau and Freeland are responsible for the NAFTA screw up. It would not be hard to make a case for that. Instead Scheer goes along with the anti-American, anti-Trump rhetoric. Your don’t have to support Trump categorically, but he is the guy Justin has to deal with and there are much better strategies (than insulting Trump) that could be used. Where is Scheer in all of this?

I also felt Max’s comments re immigration were not anti-immigrant. A key issue is that you need to have some solid sense of national identity that is preserved along with immigration. I do not believe that speaking up for Canadian values would hurt Conservatives. That is exactly what they should be doing. Finally I am totally exasperated that the Conservatives would have blocked Rebel from the conference while inviting Huffington. What’s with these guys? That is a sure way to alienate your base. Being to cautious and catering to the media will NOT get Conservatives elected as the media has already made up its mind about which party it prefers.

At this point, I am seriously annoyed with Scheer and the Conservatives and will be thinking carefully about whether or not I will bother voting for them. If Max is out there with a team, his party will definitely be an option.

    3. Sheer does not have to verbally annihilate Trudeau. The fake news media would have Sheer looking like Atilla the Hun if he did such a thing. Sheer is smart–he won’t not fall into the abyss of yet another Quebec idiot who wants to break the country up over what?? The price of a gallon of milk! Total cost?? $5.40 in Canada, $4.00+ cdn in the USA. He went against Canadian farmers in NAFTA negotiations. Why didn’t he respect Canadian solidarity?? Because he’s another idiot like Trump!

  4. Going through that same checklist for the Liberal party, they 100% pass.

    Six check marks, no question.

Undeniable proof that Canada has achieved majority stupid, actual ‘Idiocracy’; AND THERE IS NO COMING BACK FROM THIS.

  5. When the dust settles it would wise for Scheer and Bernier to agree not to run candidates against each other. This would get some Bernier PCs elected and help Scheer form a government. Anything else and Trudeau wins the next election.

    1. Bahahaha. The PC party NEVER, not ONCE, agreed to stand aside for Reform. Right until the bitter end (under good old Joe Who?) they insisted that they were the national party for conservatives and that those upstart Reformers would never succeed. Joe had to be pushed aside for the party to finally die the death it had long since earned.

This may or may not be the start of another such schism. Sadly I tend to doubt it. I don’t think the west has it in them any more to take another kick at a Reform-like can. And if they did, they should put their energy into secession instead. Canada cannot be meaningfully reformed.

      1. I posted some thoughts on this in the reader tips.

I believe that unlike the Reform efforts that saw a blue wave come out of the west and get stopped at the Ontario Manitoba border this one is different.
The CPC has always had an uphill climb in Quebec since day one as the Quebec voter has never seen the leadership as “one of their’s “.
Bernier has that going for him, and as he is distancing himself from the CPC but striking out on his own with a party that will be perceived as centered in Quebec led by a francaphone leader. None of the go to media attacks are plausible without sounding anti-Quebec. If the CBC tries to do this, Radio-Canada would take exception and the civil war would be inside Mother Corp. It gives Bernier a distinct advantage that the liberals under their current leader do not have.
The Sockmonkey is seen as a quebecois of convenience, whereas Max is the real McCoy. In their politics its a local name that gets the vote and Max may be able to get enough seats to establish a Bloc party without the separatist stigma (not that the liberals won’t try, but if they do it won’t be recieved well by the nationalist voters) which gives voters there an option. If there is doubt on this contention recall that the Bloc lead by Bouchard was able to capture most of the seats in Quebec. The similar dynamic is at play here, and because Max is not advocating separation he cannot be accused of trying to break up the country.
There is another thing to consider on the provincial level. The contender in their provincial election is the CAQ. If the result is the CAQ forming the next Quebec government that means the two biggest provinces will not be run by liberals.

        1. Joseph, good points you raise. The only quibble I have is that, for the past weeks, the pro-Liberal media cartel have been denouncing Bernier, so his Quebec roots are not helping him at all.

I agree with some on this long thread that his libertarianism will not help him at all. Having said that, having a true conservative party — one that opposes radical Islamism, violent street gangs and human smuggling — is something the country needs, to start a discussion. The CPC is not up to the task. Because of this, if there is a new party I will be supporting it.

          1. Did that “pro-liberal media” incude any repotage in french, or was that in the eglish media?
            Another point.
Who would go for the jugular in a leaders debate and not care what the media says?

  6. Ezra Levant doesn’t like what happened:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWn9ATssHnc

Sorry, Mr. Levant, but a Conservative majority at all costs which, ideologically, is little different than the Liberals is no alternative. With Scheer as PM, we’d have at least another 4 years of Prime Valium’s policies.

    1. Agreed. When your choice is between six Molson Canadians, or half a dozen Molson Canadians… there really is no choice is there?

I have seen to actual policy difference between Scheer and Trudeau.
Trudeau bans the Rebel, Scheer bans the Rebel…
Trudeau support Quebec dairy cartel, Scheer supports Quebec dairy cartel…
Socks? This is the only difference, Scheer does not care about socks! VOTE SCHEER!!!!

All I have seen the entire time Scheer has been leader is a mirror image of Trudeau.

      1. ….and on immigration…..Liberals bring in an excess of 350,000++ immigrants per year, primarily to four major urban centers, stressing our housing, infrastructure, security/police services, health care, education, ability to control carbon emissions, ect, and the Conservatives, without public consultation, plan to bring in an excess of 345,000 immigrants per year.

        1. That’s the biggest immigration scam going……when they tell you what a immigrat costs….they conveniently leave out schools, medical, police, fire, water, sewer, garbage pickup, housing, on and on

When you add 350,000 people to a city…who’s going to pay to upgrade the infrastructure?….not the people that just got here that’s for sure

      2. Good points! But Scheer seems reluctant to really take a stand on…ANYTHING! That is, if you can find him. Trudeau has stumbled numerous times, looking both foolish and stupid, yet Scheer has failed in each case, to challenge him. Max was unfairly castigated, in my opinion, but leaving the party is not the option I was hoping for. I think both Scheer and Bernier were wrong-headed on this one.

  7. Ezra Levant: Bernier & Scheer just cost Conservatives a majority

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWn9ATssHnc

I expect that Ezra is right. Trudeau has made so many missteps that the Conservative Party should be way ahead in the polls, but until Maxime started to make waves all you heard from Scheer was “me too” on policy issues, the Paris Accord being a major ‘me too’, and the media was all too happy to help Scheer give Trudeau a pass on everything. The groping issue alone should have sunk Trudeau in the polls, but, thanks to the media, this barely registered among the voters.

In my moments of anger and despair yesterday at how the Reform element in the Conservative Party has been killed by the Laurentian Elite Progressive Conservatives I thought, “Good, let the party be destroyed again and maybe something more akin to freedom and liberty might arise from the ashes”. Kind of of a ‘Gotterdammerung’ moments.

But then, maybe Canadians have sunk too far along the progressive Venezuelan mentality and deserve what the Venezuelans are getting. But then I have children and grandchildren and don’t wish that socialist disaster on anyone, as our family has been there once.

    1. Conservative is a dirty word in this country. Say “fiscal conservative” and you’ll get “on the backs of the poor” as a retort from the average twat. Canadians are financial idiots. Household debt is at historic highs. Government spending will result in the enslavement of future generations. PM POS will continue to strengthen the foundation of state interference while solidifying its intrusion into people’s every move.
(I, however, will be unaffected, uninvolved and quite comfortable.)
Scheer will be comfortable, so will a lot of others. Bernier will be as well.
Take care of your own shyte because a good 50% of the general population is phucking doomed.
Vote for a duck, a dawg or a donut if you like because you can’t fix stupid and too many Canadians are too stupid.

    2. Trudeau has made so many missteps that the Conservative Party should be way ahead in the polls

What happened yesterday wouldn’t have made any difference. With Scheer in charge, the Conservatives were determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

No wonder Craig Oliver referred to the Liberals as the “natural governing party” of Canada.

      1. Craig Oliver is a family crony-friend of the Trudeau’s, and watched Justin grow up from childhood. Having him give political commentary for CTV News for so long, without divulging his personal connections, is a scandal, one of profound journalistic corruption. Oliver lacked the honesty to reveal his crony-connections, but one would have thought CTV News management would be decent enough to do so.

    3. Canadians need a voice that only Bernier is willing to make… He will resonate in Quebec & Alberta and help in putting the UN’s Negative influence to the Voters… He may build an Strong arm and then “rejoin” an Enlighted Conservative party… The Liberal & NDP are always working together… Why not MAX & Scheer @ election Time ( A better Canadian fit) Splitting the Liberal power is good for Canada

BTW: I would like to trade our John Bolton to Canada for Chrystia Freeland.. She would be a super star for a strong leader . She latches onto a bone and refuses to let go…..If she was heading up our North Korea demuclear project.. Kim would move to North China…
(Poor John Bolton got an injured left eye.in Helsinki… How?)

      A USA POV

      1. I would make that trade in a heartbeat, you can have Henrietta Himmler and we will take Bolton and give you 2 first round draft choices too.

  8. Like him or not, Ezra Levant is tuned in to this situation and has provided a rock solid road map for Scheer. There is nothing from this video’s message that I could disagree with or improve upon. The CPC ignores Levant’s message at their peril.

  9. It’s possible that the left and center-left vote might just get split 3 ways now: Between the dippy-doos, sheerling, and The turd.

  10. Scheer is owned by Davos and the Bilderbergs. Just like the Trudeaus. Just like the Bushes. Just like the Clintons. Just like May. Just like Corbyn. Just like Merkel. Just like Macron.

NONE of them have any use for independent sovereign nations.

  11. Doubt that Max’s new true blue conservatives will even make it to Elizabeth May levels. Max isn’t Manning and Mulroney as a foil is long gone.
However the Liberals and their media suck ups are thrilled beyond words with this for good reason. I’m with Harper on this. Conservatives need to chose from being righteous on the bench or hitting the ice in an imperfect situation.
Scheer dererves at least one shot. And I agree with some that it’s time for him to get more aggressive and definitive.

    1. “Scheer deserves at least one shot”
What has he done to deserve a shot at anything other than a good poke to the face?
I, for one, am sick and tired of having my vote taken for granted. I will not vote for a liberal who calls himself a conserative. Not now, not ever. My vote is parked. Wake me up when the conseratives find someone with a pair.

  12. Scheer will be heartbroken like a teenage girl when his “friends” in the media, who he’s so desperately trying to please, turn on him during the election. He’ll be called every name in the book, just like Harper and every other Conservative – Nazi, alt right, racist, xenophobe, sexist, corporate lackey, heartless, unCanadian, white supremacist….with a hidden agenda, of course. Someone should caution him to look out for the bucket of pigs blood overhead when he’s gets his wish and is elected the media party’s prom queen.

    1. Agreed, the Liberal Party Media will destroy Scheerp, everyday, all day. No one tries to put the Medias pet Turd in a corner. Once the Liberal Party Media is finished with Scheerp he won’t know whether he’s coming or going. The, “but I’m just like the Turd” strategy will NOT work with the Media, they don’t care. The Media’s job is to get their pet Turd “elected” not Conservatives dressed up like Liberals, and they don’t care how that goal is achieved. Scheerp is the Medias enemy and Scheerp and his handlers are too dumb to know it.

  13. It is no secret that I support Max and have done so since the beginning. I am not sure this was the very best idea (I would have preferred an internal coup, a la the Aussies) but will continue to stand behind him.

Here’s hoping his new party, and it’s policies, reflect everything he has said in the last 18 months.

Let Weak Andy move the CPC to the middle and try to out soy the soyPM. Perhaps in 2019 we could get a coalition between the CINO CPC and the Mad Max Party. One can only hope.

p.s. I got a begging email from the CPC this morning. My response:

    FFTFO. I stand with Max.

  14. How to carve out a nationalist-populist political base? What are issues using USA as an example.
    Controlled immigration
Vetting of likely to offend ideological (religious) groups from certain nations
    Science based EPA policies
    bi-lateral fair trade deals
    effective security treaties (eg Iran)
end foreign military adventures (pull back from syria)
    rapprochement with Russia
input in fed reserve decision making (hold interest rates)
    Antifa designated domestic terror group
POTUS NOT self- censored by PC & SJW narrative
POTUS Speaking out against threats & acts of violence by alt-left and alt right groups.
POTUS Calling out the fake media as ENEMY of the People.
POTUS Calling out he corruption of the law enforcement agencies (numerous firings and demotions of FBI)
POTUS Calling out the bias of the Justice department wrt Clinton investigations vs Mueller witch hunt.
POTUS Calling out the RHINOS and establishment GOP.

And the POTUS is 100% right-on but you wouldn’t know it reading globalist owned c/w 666 stamp MSM.ca.

Now substitute CanaDUH for USA. What are the issues Bernier forms policy/platform around?.
I realize some con patriots may be pissed about the Russia thing but they can vote Liberal like the neo-cons have gone capital D Democrat. On the other hand many on the left would come across to the nationalist-populist cause cuz they oppose turning Canada into a feminist run Sweden cw with censored speech and no-go zones in ethnic enclaves.

  15. Ask anyone on the street. Who is Justin Trudeau? The great majority will say Prime Minister.
Ask anyone on the street. Who is Andrew Scheer? The great majority will say they don’t know.
    End of story.

  16. I thought Ezra’s comments on Scheer’s ‘unleaderly’ mishandling of the talented Bernier were spot on. It is unquestionably the CPC’s loss.

After a night to reflect on this I find that I am still enthused, not so much that this happened, but more that SOMETHING happened. The status quo was like a malignant tumor slowly draining our life-force, any change in that situation gives me at least some hope.

Where Bernier’s ‘stand’ may end up going nowhere, it is still a exceptional opportunity to watch how ALL the other players react to his moves. We will probably never have a better chance to identify and expose the left-leaning CINO’s in the party from the quality conservatives. Especially the closet progressives who bow to PC’ness and identity politics.

    Rock on, Mr. Bernier.

  17. Look, Ontario had to hit rock bottom before they elected a conservative, and they wouldn’t have even done that if Brown had remained. Maybe Canada has to go through the same process. Conservatives were never going to win with Scheer anyway.

  18. If you want to win an election, you have to establish some distance between yourself and the other party. Scheer has pretty much done the exact opposite. His conservative supporters will use Max as the reason why Scheer can’t get traction in the polls, but the die was cast long before the present troubles with Max. They were, and are, looking at a minority government at best.

    1. A CPC minority is, at this point, just a pipe dream. Scheer has mismanaged his leadership mandate so badly they will be lucky to retain the 97 seats they have now.
Politics has been Scheer’s whole life since he was a high school kid. He’s reached a point in the political hierarchy better than he ever dreamed.

Scheer is no leader, he’s a civil servant,a “man dressed in grey” as the Kinks sang, with no vision beyond a very satisfying career in politics followed by a very nice pension. His ambition was probably to become a Deputy Minister, now he’s surpassed that, and is content with his lot. The only “fire in his gut” Scheer has ever experienced was after he ate too much chili.
We live in times where we are rapidly losing our democracy, and we need a revolutionary leader to head this country, not a globalist or a bureaucrat, but unfortunately, those are the choice we have.

It’s Trudeau/LPC in a majority next fall, with 180+ seats. The bungling amateurs in the CPC have done it again.

      1. “The only “fire in his gut” Scheer has ever experienced was after he ate too much chili.” and “The bungling amateurs in the CPC have done it again.”

        Dead on, don morris.

Scheer-the-steer is just another example of the timorous turds that Canada’s Conservative parties routinely truck out as excuses for leaders. The problem is compounded when these mice lap up the snot and drivel coming from from their advisors – little poli-sci grads in elf suits who have been schooled by Marxists and other idiots. A true leader has a sense of where the public wants to go and what will resonate. He makes his own strategies and advisors are consulted on matters of tactics….and their recommendations may, or may not, be heeded.

In addition to having no fire in his belly, Scheer has no balls, no imagination, no charisma, and no finger on the pulse of the nation. And that’s about as close as a body can come to being a Complete Zero as far as a federal leader goes.

  19. I hope for a reconciliation between Scheer and Bernier before they hand the next election to Trudeau with a conservative split (the NDP has slipped into irrelevance under whatsisname). It is definitely time for a review of Scheer’s “leadership”. Agreeing with the Paris Accord, which was nothing less than a Western suicide note, demoting Max and now kicking the Rebel out of the convention should be enough to send Scheer back to the speaker’s chair.
I got the usual mealtime call from the CPC asking for money and advised the caller to tell her supervisor why I was displeased with the party.

  20. Well hopefully Scheer will release one of those oh so effective youtube videos soon.

  21. My father forced me at gunpoint to listen to Zoomer radio (his truck, he was driving, his radio). Some lady phoned in to complain about the illegal immigrants coming through the US / Quebec border. She sounded as though she had a Quebecois accent. She was furious that the Federal government was letting people through and not considering them illegals. I expect there is a lot of tension in Quebec over the asylum seekers. Perhaps Bernier can tap into that. If Bernier could take a good number of Quebec (ahem – Liberal) seats he could really wield some power in Parliament, especially if Scheer squeeks out a slim minority government. But if he takes his anger outside of Quebec then the Conservatives have no hope.

  22. im only half way through the video buy it appears Ezra believes Scheer wants to do away with the dairy cartel and do something about illegal immigration. My belief is Scheer didn’t give those duties to Max is because Scheer likes those things the way they are.
And lets not forget Scheer’s standing on global warming.

  23. Sigh.. Am I the only one who sees that a split right will necessarily and ultimately lead to Liberal majorities for the indefinite future? Back in 1993 when the PC party was driven into the ground by Mulroney, the Reform party was born. For the entire life of the Reform movement, the Liberals were elected. Four governments in a row culminating with Martin’s minority. The only reason Martin had a minority and not a majority was because of the “unite the right” movement. Until the PCs merged with Reform fully, conservatives were in the political hinterland.

FF to today and we’ve had really ONE SINGLE conservative government under Harper. And now as conservatives we are already destroying ourselves. That DOES speak volumes for the poor leadership of Scheer, BUT are conservatives at large really this stupid? There is a reason why the CBC is so gleefully reporting on all of this. This is not any different than the Reform movement. It’s like math or gravity. If you split the right, conservatism in Canada is done for generations.

    1. I think there are two groups.
Those who saw a Scheer conservative party as significantly different from the Liberals.
I belong to the second group, those that see a Scheer lead party as only slightly better than another Liberal win. but the kicker with putting in Scheer is the party won’t improve.

Yesterday prior to this breaking I said out loud I wouldn’t bother voting conservative in the next federal election. I would either abstain or look for a local.

I see Scheer as barely a better alternative to Justin. . No if this is the best Canada can do then it’s done. Better to start something new.

Also this all assumes Justin would have lost if Max hadn’t left. That is far from certain.

      1. I agree. With a center-left Conservative Party under the old Progressive Conservatives Canada is done anyway. Slightly less liberal Liberal policies are no policies at all.

      2. >Scheer lead party as only slightly better than another Liberal win
This is insane. Between the massive, totally unnecessary deficits, the pipelines being canceled or worse, NAFTA negotiations in tatters, THE FUCKING CARBON TAX, the fact that Trudeau can’t go a week without either paying a terrorist $10.5M or the UN another billion dollars. The fact that Trudeau has completely discarded our immigration system and it is now entirely a muslim importation program. I don’t see how Canada could take another term under the Trudeau Liberals. And you say that a Scheer led government would only be marginally better than Trudeau??? What the heck are you talking about?

I think Scheer blew it on this one, don’t get me wrong. He absolutely needed to do more to heal the divisions after winning the leadership. He also shouldn’t have reprimanded Bernier for speaking out against the dairy cartel. But the one who is wrecking shit is Bernier right now.

I don’t really care anymore. The longer I live the more I realize that politics is bullshit anyway. Who gives a fuck anymore.

    2. And for all of the work done by Manning, Harper, et al, what did that ONE SINGLE Conservative government get us, that wasn’t undone by Trudeau in record speed? The 2% GST cut, the Wheat Board, and the long gun registry. And that’s about it. 25 years of work from the time Manning first started lying the groundwork of Reform, to get that coveted majority government, and the opportunity was almost totally squandered, and it begot us another Trudeau in power.

Canada cannot be meaningfully reformed. This country is what it is and what it will always be, a plaything for the Laurentian elite to run for their benefit above all, and we mere serfs be damned. Doubly so the serfs in western Canada, who are to be denied the power & prosperity that are their birthright, as they are always to be placed firmly behind the interests of Quebec and Ontario in this country, forevermore.

Bernier cannot change this. Scheer certainly can’t. Vote accordingly. Or don’t vote at all. Hardly matters any more.

      1. Sigh. I agree. Much of Harper’s work was undone in a few short months and the Laurentian Elite will not allow another Harper to become pm. As well, Canada cannot be meaningfully reformed as the Laurentian Elite will not allow this either.

In the mid 1800s the Family Compact of Lower Canada ruled the land, and since the Laurentian Elite conquered the Family Compact it has ruled the land.

You are right, “Hardly matters any more”.

        1. I am not convinced it is the Laurentian Elite running things any more. I think it is the globalists and the Chinese.

          1. Many of the Laurentian Elite ARE globalists. Why wouldn’t they be, they will only continue to prosper under globalism, just as they do now. The globalists represent the power structure behind every country in the civilized world. Trudeau and Scheer are puppets of the globalists.
The LE/globalists have a wonderful situation in little dumb Canader: two Parties representing them, and a voter base that actually believes their government runs the country for all of us peasants.
It’s a wonder they all don’t give themselves a hernia laughing their asses off at us.

          2. And the last part of connect-the-dots is who controls them.

            The Jesuits.

The Jesuits control both sides – the left and the fake-right. They use the Hegelian dialectic of giving the populace two choices, both of which are unpalatable. As a result, we are continually dragged in a single direction. All that changes with elections is the speed of the dragging.

We continue to become poorer and our rights continue to erode. We can plot the direction and speed to estimate when we will arrive back in the dark ages.

When the Roman Catholic Church ruled the world. Where the Jesuits wish to return us.

    3. What you say makes a lot of sense, however, Reform was up against a savvy politician (Chretien), while Justin is a complete dolt. I do not see Canadians putting up with him indefinitely.

      1. My point is that it’s gravity. It doesn’t take a savvy politician if you split the conservative vote.. a retarded monkey could do it (even Trudeau could do it).

      2. “Justin is a complete idiot”… yep and Canadians voted for him… Justard has a lot of company in the idiot department. Let the one party idiocracy reign.

      3. Oh how I wish it was terdo we are up against. Terdo is a globalist puppet. The minute it looks like the shine has worn off the pony Mr. Soreass and his cronies will hire a new puppet.

  24. I find most Rebel people far too bombastic and prefer to read their content than sit through a drawn out video but that goes for a lot of political types. I don’t know what kind of following the Rebel has in terms of numbers but I suspect they represent a good segment of the more or less principled base of the CPC which is likely less than half of the coalition under that label. I find it unfathomable that Scheer would ban them from the convention while playing kissy face with the likes of Wendy Mesley and other CBC lefties. As a coalition, the CPC cannot afford to toss major segments like they have just managed to do.

    1. Dear

We did it — thank you.

Our one millionth Rebel subscriber just signed up on our YouTube channel!

Thank you for being so supportive of us.

We are now the largest YouTube news channel in Canada. But of course we’re not just in Canada anymore — we have millions of viewers in the United States, the United Kingdom, and around the world!

  25. Well done Cannibalistic Conservatives.
You’ve struck another winning blow for progressives, crony capitalists and statist sycophants everywhere.
That’s what you want, right? No?
Another wedge driven between libertarians and conservatives, ensuring easy Grit pickings, with NDP bonus booty in QC & BC.
Nice. In your quest for a “real” conservatism cleansing, you’ve assured power for the Marxists.
Like the establishment GOP trying to lose the election, assisting DeMarxists, losing it even before the writ is dropped.
    Let’s.lose.it.right.now.
    They failed with Trump.
    You will succeed with Scheer.
Why do you do that? My heart aches for our nation.

    1. Shamrock: If Trudeau doesn’t call a snap election maybe Maxine can pull it off…he would have to work hard everyday going across Canada province by province doing and saying what the regular hard working people (Deplorables, as Hillary called them) want and make it come true! Unless Scheer decides to get off the pot and do what the people want him to do!!! Just a thought!

  26. Insightful, excellent comments.

Max Bernier is the man that has the most going for him at this stage in the big scheme of things. By comparison the two other men that are political Leaders, Max has the education Canadians need and should want in a Leader. He has two degrees, a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Law degree. Scheer is 16 years younger with a Political Science degree. Trudeau has an Arts degree.

In looking at the forefathers of people bearing the surname Bernier, there are many who were accomplished and well educated. They come from Germanic Norman stock. With a name like his, meaning ‘Bern’ or ‘Bear’ or ‘hari” or ‘army’ and ‘Maximilian’ or Max as a diminutive, you have the name equivalent of ‘Great Army!’

Gonna mess with that? Think he deserves a fighting chance?

Additionally, on the World stage, he would be respected, given his age and wisdom. He is a gentleman and a scholar. Referencing the George Stroumboulopoulos interview of FEB 2012, he is humble, self-effacing, even a little shy. Those are endearing qualities as well as his strength and charismatic nature. Regardless of a chance at being Canada’s Prime Minister, he will go far in life as he is in his prime as a man. It would be Canada’s loss if he were not given this one chance at total victory.

    1. So far Mr Bernier is unimpressive with poor communication, team skills and judgment with serious loyalty issues.

His recent missteps are clear evidence the mediocracy would have a field day dragging this guy down.

I like his libertarian instincts, but splitting the party between that and conservatism is political suicide, plain and simple

I can’t believe people are throwing Mr Scheer under the bus. WTF are you people thinking?

1st, he’ll be fighting the election and 2nd whiny backbiting is grist for Grit mills, with mediocracy sycophants at the ready.

Cannibal conservatives must eat their own, like their statist GOP friends southward, pandering to eastern Canadian PC crap.

Trump proved you can beat these guys if we stick together, & change the rules to make the media chases not pursue.

      1. @ 3:01 Shamrock
Scheer performed poorly when he recently gave a speech, according to someone who reported it here @ S.D.A. recently.
Perhaps they all could use tune-up and are a bit rusty with oration skills.

As for all your points, there are some things that are forgivable and some that are not. The biggest faux-pas that Scheer committed was a very serious one. It was the cheating and rigging of the Leadership contest. The MILK MUSTACHE that Scheer wore the night the announcement was made still has a putrid smell on his face all across the country. Yuck! (Liberals took out quicky memberships in the leader’s race and played sneaky)

Scheer has loyalty issues, and should cross the floor or fall on his sword, like a good little boy. He threw Canada under the bus. Just remember that when you buy dairy products at needlessly costly prices.

Lastly, don’t be too sure Scheer will fight the election next year. For the record there won’t be an early call this year because the writ has been dropped for two provincial elections this Fall, one in Quebec and one in New Brunswick. The Snow Birds then go to sunnier destinations after that. So, therefore there is plenty of time to kick Scheer out royally on his gluteus maximus, if not out of his newly named riding of Front Hole Saskatchewan.

      2. Shammy, I’v said before, and I’ll say it again, get F*CKING relgion out of conservative politics, and you have a winner. All I see from the the bible thumping cons is abortion bad, MJ bad. Federal politics should not be concerned with those 2 issues, but thumpers just can’t help themselves. Bernier is “street” wise, and that is why I like him.

    2. Justine Trudeau does not have a degree. Not that it matters as he’s as dumb as a stump, regardless.

      1. 328pm @ rob83
“Justin trudeau does not have a degree.”

It could be that he never really earned one properly. What with all the stammering and non-words that he spits like, “ah, ah” after every few words. Nevertheless, apparently, Justin has a degree in Literature from McGill 1994 and a bachelor of Education from U.B.C. 1998.
        Source: Google

(perhaps Daddy made generous donations to aforesaid institutions)

        1. While I was a post-secondary instructor, I was sometimes “encouraged” (i. e., coerced) to pass certain students because they were the sons of some moneybags who often hired our department’s graduates or was a major donor to the institution.

I never yielded to that. Those students had to earn their grades in my courses. However, I’m sure that some of my colleagues were considerably more accommodating.

          1. @5:13 B A
            Yes, a quid pro quo.
I’ve learned to ask whether a deposit on account is required up front, on services requested. In Alberta, in many cases, a persons word or hand shake is still a delightful way of doing business. They take it as a sign of a client qualifying himself, and as a show of good faith.

In your field most should consider their own reputations before putting someone like yourself on the spot with unreasonable requests. Once,I too had been put on the spot with regards to a technicality on a large legal transactional case but I backed away from the scenario for the sake of peace of mind. It is, after all, ultimately, what is important.

        2. Well, now that you’ve cited Google as a source…and we know they never manipulate any information, and he was praised a couple of years ago as a part-time physicist by some Ontario based university while on a photo-op, his status as an intellectual must be deemed unassailable.

  27. Once again:

South of the border, Wall Street and their Chinese business partners are preparing to trigger another financial crisis when (not if) the Blue Wave fails to materialize and Trump’s hold on the White House is stronger than ever.

It worked before, when they wanted to discredit the GOP once Dubya had outlived his usefulness as a catspaw of their friends the House of Saud, and to make sure the Houseboy became president. And they’ve tried everything else.

Of course, blowing up the banks to throw a US election won’t work this time—people understand Trump is not to blame for the actions of globalist bankers—but the Canadian banking system WILL be collateral damage.

If overseeing the collapse of the Canadian banking system doesn’t finally destroy the Liberal Party of Canada and the House of Trudeau, nothing else is likely to (short of regime change courtesy of the US Army).

I’m rather looking forward to watching Justin try to charm his way out of trouble once ATM’s stop working in urban Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal—and Canadian soldiers’ paycheques start to bounce. If he’s counting on the Chinese to save him from his own army, he’s an even bigger idiot than he’s given credit for.

Either way, once he runs out of other people’s money, Justin’s going to prison or into exile, and Doug Ford will be laughing all the way to 24 Sussex.

Just be sure to have your debts paid off and to have no more money in a Canadian bank than you can afford to lose when the music stops.

And never forget there is a God, and that His ways are not our ways—and that He grants His children not what they might want, but only what they need.

In the end those who keep the faith will be redeemed. It just won’t be by Maxime Bernier.

  28. OK. Seriously. Scheer, from very nearly beginning, never had a chance of forming government in this country.

    He has never been seen.
    He has never been heard.
He has never said anything about Trudeau under any circumstance.

I am now certain that Scheer never has wanted to be PM. All evidence points to the fact that he is a Liberal Party operative; a Manchurian candidate.

Anyone. Who says anything to the effect of “Bernier and/Scheer just cost the CPC the next election” is without doubt absolutely and totally without intellect.

    SCHEER IS A MANCHURIAN.
HIS ONLY PURPOSE, FROM THE BEGINNING, IS CLEARLY TO ENSURE THE DEFEAT OF THE CPC.

A secondary goal appears to be the destruction of the CPC. On both counts Scheer is succeeding.

Denial is not just s river in Egypt, and it will not affect reality in any way.

  29. Can anyone provide any evidence, that Andrew Scheer is not a Liberal Party of Canada operative?

Any evidence that Scheer wants to grow the “big tent” of the CPC?

Any evidence that he cares about anything that Preston Manning or Stephen Harper would have supported?

Any evidence that he would have treated Reagan or Thatcher any differently than Trudeau treats Trump?

    1. Yes, I can, as a long time member of the Liberal party of Canada, I will tell you we would choose a much better manchurian candidate than Andrew Scheer. Scheer is a neo-conservative, typifies that group. Our preferred candidate would be more like Bernier, not a nerdy looking nerd who couldn’t charm a drunken hooker.

We had a candidate of the Manchurian candidate type run the PCC for several years, he was handsome and charming and everyone in the Conservative world loved him,he won the PM’s Office with huge majorities, twice. Then when we had used him up, we booted his ass out and installed another Quebecer for 13 years. Nowadays he helps out PM Trudeau with NAFTA negotiations, as a good MCL should, but many conservatives still believe he was one of them.LOL!

No, Scheer is no “plant” by the Liberals, he’s merely another political science graduate, a professional politician, just another guy who LOVES the political system, and who has prospered very much under said system. Scheer is the new type of politician we can expect to run all our political Parties in future.
Scheer has faith in the system, probably more so than in his religion, and he will work diligently to serve that system, then one day retire with a lovely pension, while conservatives bleat that he never represented them.
No, he doesn’t represent us, he represents Ottawa.

    2. well Kevin, Cheers may just be stupid, like the Turd. Having a degree does not equal smart. And may smart people have no common sense or leadership skills. Butt, most cons to date are piss poor “general” communicators, so they do a poor job getting policy out to the electorate

  30. blah blah blah to all these comment… all we did was elect Trudeau for another term.

The only issue is Carbon Tax.

    1. Your credentials would imply you to be a poor judge. Please refrain from making yourself more of an arse.

    2. jonny, I worked at jobs were defining character types was important. Service work is like that, so, your assessment just shows you are stupid.

    1. Anyone who doesn’t appreciate Julie’s assets is probably gay. She would have made a great conservative candidate, actually she DID make a great conservative candidate, if you like double entendres.

Julie would frighten either Justin or Andrew, way too much woman there for either of them.

  31. I cannot see there being a difference between Trudeau and Scheer in how the government is, or will be run. Neither can anyone else. Scheer’s silence the last 15 months is by proxy, an endorsement of Trudeau’s policies and gaffs. I was not going to vote for Scheer. I was leaning towards something on the right wing fringes, just to keep the political dialogue going, but if Max fields candidates in my riding, I will vote for his party. Heck, I might even run.

    1. Maybe you want to further your inquiry. Scheer is a Harper acolyte who follows his idea of limiting government.

Not enough for the real conservatives, the ones who ensure our defeat, the ones who joined the anti-Harper temper tantrum.

I’m truly ashamed of this intellectual laziness resulting in the circular firing squad that is the CPC.

But don’t blame Scheer, you’re the ones cannibalizing the party. Maybe you don’t care, but the damage is same as a vote for Libs.

The Cynical Party of Canada self-destructs – again. But as long as they’re “real’ (aka out of power) Conservatives, that’s OK.

      1. shammy, CHEERS IS NOT A LEADER, no matter what his ideology is! Get that, is not, put your bludy bible down and educate yerself

      2. Harper increased the size of the federal government. Harper increased the number of immigrants. Harper, with the blessing of the Liberals and the NDP, increased the debt. Harper let the CBC off the hook. Harper was and is a globalist. I might have forgiven this in a minority government, but what is the excuse when he had a majority?
Harper’s biggest fault is that he didn’t have the courage of his convictions and he was not a ruthless man. Politics is a blood sport. If you won’t fight you die. Scheer barely has a pulse.

      3. People like you cause us to get leaders like Stanfield, Clark, Campbell, et al, If you stand for nothing, you fall for everything. Grow a pair, and stop giving your vote to CINOs.

  32. I support Reciprocity and I support the end to supply management and corporate welfare. I’m a Bernier Conservative!

    1. By doing so you’re supporting a Trudeau Grit fiscal disaster, intentionally by you or otherwise, the effect is the same.

Would that really make you feel better about the present circumstances?

      1. I haven’t been a Conservative party member in anything but name only because my membership doesn’t expire until next year for a long time. Quite frankly I was going to vote Christian Heritage Party in the next election. Scheer is a useless tit. The Conservative Party really cemented their disdain with their awful leadership rules to punish Alberta riding’s and dilute the vote to not even bothering to put a polling station in Calgary. There have been zero calls for policy input in my riding and voicing my policy opinion to anyone who phones asking for donations gets me all of nowhere because that’s not on their script.

Quite frankly except for phoning for donations the Conservatives don’t give a carp about regular members. None of the problems I’ve had with the party have EVER been addressed by anyone in charge. Also what regular member has time and thousands of dollars to go gallivanting off to Halifax to schmooze and vote on whipped policy votes that have already been decided or changed on the whim of the executive. The Convention is a bloody farce.

Quite frankly I don’t agree with Scheer on anything and you’re telling me to shut-up and vote Scheer because the Conservative vote will split? We already have a Liberal majority and the Conservative vote was unified. Your argument is fascil and stupid and doesn’t address any of the real problems with this top down elitist snobbish unresponsive Lieberal lite party.

        1. I’m not telling you to do anything, just stating its inevitable effect.

There’s nothing smart in what you’re saying; you’re perpetuating statism.

Oh, don’t like me telling you that?

Aww, I don’t care because your are hurting me with your de facto support of Liberals you claim to dislike.

BTW, you political and grammar illiterate, it’s spelled facile.

Are you sure you’re not a Liberal, you seem excellent at projecting your shortcomings on others.

Some day you may realize supporters of “real” conservatism, willing to sabotage the CPC, could fit in a small room.

Your politics are unpalatable to the vast majority of Canadians, which makes you and your so-called ideas unelectable.

  33. Max might be a single man paddling upstream in the Canadian canoe but if he had 1 or 2 MP’s from the CPC caucus join him then everything changes. The world is in constant turmoil so Turdeau does not have a lock on re-election. The fat that Scheer could not deal with Bernier in some manner is a big negative.

Bernier’s conservatism resonates across Canada with many rank and file. The CPC is not doing much to rebuild the Party since the Harper loss. If Bernier was able to get MP’s to come with him or even if Scheer looks like a loser going into an election my question would be whether Harper comes back in. Round 2 with Harper will deliver a Turdeau KO!

  34. Maybe…. Socks smelling blood will call a snap election
Maybe… Mad Max and the Iceman will kiss and makeup
and like the last scene in Top Gun… the conservatives will put on their big boy pants and actually get into the fight.

  35. Max is sabotaging ALL conservatives with this BS. All this does is guarantee the Liberals a victory when they’re vulnerable. Is Scheer perfect? No he’s not. But he won the leadership, and deserves a shot in the election without dissension from the rest of the party. If he loses, then you can talk about ditching him. But right now, a united effort is needed to overcome the Liberals and their media boot lickers.

  36. The CPC believe that Conservatives will vote for them no matter what because Trudeau. Then, when in power they will hardly move the needle at all. When Harper got his majority i thought “finally”…. but nothing happened. Even removing offensive language from human rights legislation took a massive effort to get Harper to move.

Personally, I am done with them. If Ontario can vote Doug Ford, then surely Ontario will vote for a Conservative who has a pulse.

As long as Scheer and his ilk are there, they don’t have my vote.

    A USA POV

  38. Too bad Max didn’t just join the Libertarian Party. At least there is some foundation there, a website, a platform. Its pretty easy to read it and say yay or nay.
Scheer is a twat. The cons are toast.
PM Phucktard will call an election this fall. They’re just working on how to work it so people don’t think Ass-grabber is doing a Chretien.
The liberal kunts and their filthy media scrote-lickers will carry on, with an even greater majority of turds in the House. Arrogant, deceitful and self-righteous as ever, they’re going to make the last three years pale in comparison.

  39. Listening to Andrew Scheer’s speech at the convention. He comes off a high school kid playing a role. He tries to talk tough but can’t help nervously smiling. He appears as threatening as Bambi. With the deficits, immigration, and economy all getting out of hand and falling apart, smiling while you’re supposed to be mad as hell, is self defeating. I’ve heard many people speak over the years, and Andrew comes across as shallow. Insurance agents, financial advisers, self help gurus, and do it yourself infomercials carry the same weight.

  40. He appears as threatening as Bambi.

Because of his support for the phony-baloney climate/carbon tax treaty, we should nickname him “Climate Bambi”.

  41. Best Case Scenario:

Francois Legault and the CAQ win the Quebec election (Oct 1) with a majority. The key plank of the CAQ is reducing immigration by 20%. This will set off a major conflict with the immigration-uber-alles federal government. Good.

Max Bernier, seeing this, will make reducing immigration by about the same amount the key plank of *his* new party. The new party will immediately jump up to about 10% in the polls, or possibly higher. Most if not all of this support is directly siphoned away from the CPC, who are now in a distant second place to the Liberals.

The CPC leadership rightfully begins to panic. Against their usual cuckish instincts, they decide that their only hope for victory in 2019 is to follow the CAQ and Max’s lead and promise to lower immigration rates significantly. Gradually they begin to chip away at Max’s support base, and by the time the campaign kicks off they are back to being level with the Liberals.

Max’s supporters (including me and many of you) decide that now that the CPC has uncucked itself and is finally serious about reducing immigration, that we must abandon Max in order to get rid of Open Borders Trudeau. The CPC wins the election, and Max retains his seat as the only elected member of his new party.

Will Scheer, Rempel and the rest of those fake conservatives actually commit to reducing immigration by 20% or so? If they want to win the election they will, because that’s their only hope. Meanwhile Max is persona non grata to the victorious CPC, but to us he will always be a hero to conservatism and to Canada.

    1. Worst case scenario, nothing changes from 2015. So we end no worse off than we are now with another Trudeau win, no worse off than we are now with a Trudeau clone win, or better off.

So basically, we are at bottom. This Bernier business may or may not change anything; but it cannot get any worse and it might get better.

I am with you. Thanks Max.

    2. You’ve just won the Giller Prize for a great work of Canadian fiction! That was even better than some of the scenarios painted by sports reporters who love their Leafs and if,if,if,if and if, they’ll win the Cup for sure this year.

Here’s my scenario, straight from the files of The Cynical Canadian Observer: Bernier forms a Quebec-only party, takes three seats in that Province, all from the NDP, the Liberals take the Maritimes, Quebec, Ontario, and half the seats in B.C.

      Final tally” LPC 185, CPC, 85, Bernier’s Bravos 3, Dippers 47, BQ 11, Greens 2, Independent 5.

Oh,and just before the election,Ralph Goodale succumbs to a heart attack, and while all Saskatchewan mourns his passing, (SDA is draped in black for the week) Wendy Cukier is parachuted into his Riding and wins with 89% of the vote.

Later in 2019, Scheer is lauded by his poli-sci graduating class as “The Most Successful Graduate in our Class”, dances with his old prom queen, to the music of Steve and the Lumberjacks, a great garage band from Ottawa.

      1. Lol! That was good.

SDA draped in black for a week (doubles over in pain from laughing).

  42. Scheer is nothing like Trump, he’s much closer in his political accomodationism to McCain, McConnell, Paul Ryan, Jeff Flake, and Mitt Romney. Now it may be true that any of those could be slightly better alternatives than HRC or the departed Obama, but their politics are just designed to follow the same template a little slower with a few tax cuts and pretences of non-compliance with every globalist whim.

Harper was becoming more and more like that after about 2007.

I don’t want to see a split party, I want to see an actual conservative party. Max might not be the very best potential leader either, I don’t regard him as flawless. But he had the cojones to say what many who do not depend on the favour of the CPC establishment have been thinking. He might grow into the job which as I see it would be to create a party and a style of leadership resonant with Trump, Orban, the Polish resistance and a few other isolated good governments left in the formerly free world.

This is not something that we can just allow to simmer and develop over a decade or two. If the globalists aren’t driven away from power soon, they will wreck this country. I’m really surprised Stephen Harper doesn’t take that approach instead of this, “give Andy a chance, he’ll be fine” nonsense. Anyone who chose the Scheer path to oblivion will not be fine, and neither will Canada.

As to there being a Scheer cult of personality, that was a good one. Any more like that in your routine, whomsoever said that? I had to laff.

  43. Who are these “conservatives” you keep mentioning,Shamrock?
I have seen no evidence of their existence since the Great Alliance.
All I got out of that was a pin and more taxes, more national debt and ever more intrusive government.
Who cares if Trudeau and the Blunder Boys stay in power,if the only option(conservative you say) is Harper lite?
Reform proved something, we seem very slow to learn.
Kleptocracy does not get reformed using Roberts Rules of Committees.

I’m with Max, feel the burn Canada version, as in burn the bandits out.
Our political landscape is completely FUBAR.
We voters have made continuous stupid choices…there are no conservatives in federal politics, just fools and bandits.
    Who reflect the citizens perfectly.

    1. Did you notice how quickly Max routed the kleptocrats out of the CSA when PSKnight called foul? There’s real crime fighting for you!

  44. I’m not worried about Max defecting. Libertarians are poor team players and party politics is a team game. This isn’t Lucifer Bouchard or Preston Manning.

I’m willing to wait and see what Scheer does as the election nears. No sense peaking early and bongo has given the CPC a lot to work with already.

Scheer will have to do something to mobilize the conservative vote. I suspect there will be plenty of opportunity to do that. In the meantime keep your powder dry.

    1. I had a hunch he was a wimp from the leader campaign and I have been waiting all this time for him to do something resolute or at least intelligent. When he kicked the only jernalist friend he had in the balls I wrote him off for a STUPID wimp.

  45. The Lieberals will call an early election and make legal (read free) weed The Issue.
Scheer will then find the only topic he disagrees with Truedope on.
Four more years of substitute frisbee coach Sinophile rule and the further destruction of our economy to third world debtor nation proportions.

    Bury American 100 dollar bills.

  46. Re; Mark Matis, they are all owned by the elites, Good Point… God bless the working man…
