Lerner, Paz say they fear physical harm from enraged public, want IRS testimony sealed permanently
Ms. Lerner and Ms. Paz gave taped depositions in a class-action lawsuit brought by tea party groups demanding answers and compensation for having been subjected to illegal targeting for their political beliefs.
The government settled the class-action lawsuit in Ohio and another tea party challenge in the District of Columbia in two agreements last month, admitting to the illegal behavior. The Ohio settlement also called for the government to pay $3.5 million to the tea party groups, according to one of the plaintiffs.
Ms. Lerner came in for particular criticism, with the government admitting she not only didn’t stop the targeting — contradicting the Obama administration’s claims — but also hid it from her superiors in Washington.
I’d sit on that jury… (if they allowed a jury to hear this).

Absolutely right in every word. And it’s more than just Watergate. This has been an ongoing problem for centuries, that people will only put up with so much abuse before heads have to roll literally and the Bastille gets burned down. It’s why the English were utterly justified in beheading the country’s stupidest monarch and Cromwell hurled out into the street the Members of England’s most corrupt Parliament.

Methinks this is a classic textbook illustration of how fear of citizen violence is supposed to hold the legislators in check. Should the good Ms. Lerner accidentally handcuff herself in the trunk of her car before driving it down a Potomac boat ramp, or have the misfortune to attempt to steal more chain than she can swim away with, well that thar’d be a powerful learnin’ moment now, wouldn’t it?

How substantiated are her allegations of “death threats?” Seems to me like she is trying to play the evil, violence prone right winger card, but unless she produces the emails or notes, I do not believe her. This is the way she and her Dem friends viewed the Tea Party, and it is a narrative she wants to perpetuate, in the hopes that the story will go away with as little damage to her bosses as possible.

I really have some reservations about saying the following. She is just one of the many thousands of Bureaucrats who after decades found Herself in a place of actually having to make a decision outside of written policy. However She failed as an Human Being and an American Citizen.
/Lois Lerner is a venal, craven Person who put Her self-interest in front of following Her Oath of Office as a middling manager of other Peoples’ Lives using the Over-Powering Might of Government.
She deserves Prison Time for Her venality. Being a craven Person is a Character Flaw which reflects as much on Her Parents, if there were any, and on the various superiors in the Ranks of Supervisors over the Decades of Employment.
One can say her obsequiousness to superiors made it difficult to determine her craven character; but this just confirms the potential and if Honestly declared the inherent difficulty of Large Government control where Personal Responsibility is a greater teacher of being Correct or being Craven.
